Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 Do they consider him such a success that he deserves to get the belt back, though? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If they felt him a failure, the belt would have been off him by now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But this is the WWE we're talking about. JBL was a failure and look how long he had the belt. And yes Batista is a failure. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> is the OLD jake better than the new one?

CBright7831 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 Heh, I remember that now aswell. All of these Prince Iaukea moments are coming back to me. Like one time, on Worldwide, I thought Nash decapitated him with a big boot.

And I also remember Schiavone, counting "1-2-3!". Problem was, Tony got to 3 before the ref even got 1 and a half. Good job, Tony!

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 To be honest does Smackdown really have anyone that doesn't carry some sort of baggage? If UT was there full time I'd almost put the title on him since he's really the most credible guy on the roster storywise. Everyone else has either had a recent title run that sorta tanked or isn't really ready yet.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 let's see: Eddie Guerrero-mentally unstable. Rey Mysterio-my pick but not big and credible enough in Vince's eyes (probably a lot of the fans as well) Randy Orton-too soon, his next title chase needs to be done picture perfect, can't just give it to the guy now. JBL-bad draw Booker T-doing the US Title thing right now and, to me, should never be world champ ever again, dude is past those days. Chris Benoit-hell we don't even know if he's sticking around. Matt Hardy-not at this level yet. Ken Kennedy-too new, has the charisma, but won't be a draw. Bobby Lashley-too green...could be a draw, but not now. Man, I guess it doesn't matter, they can throw that belt on anyone and get pretty much the same results, though Eddie or Rey would be the biggest draws of the bunch... cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 Lushus, what exactly would this perfect scenario for Orton getting the title? Cause frankly I can't think of anything that would rivet fans. About the best that could be hoped for is a "Well, it's better than Bradshaw again" type result. If this UT deal of "The beginning of the end" means he is retiring soon (who knows?) I might just put the belt on him one more time till right before WM and then go from there.

The logical answer is Eddie right now. Booking wise Eddie is the right answer but I wouldn't really be surprised if Vince put the title on the "bad draw". Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 honestly, I don't know, cabbage...I was liking Randy Orton leading into WM...then he got injured and his booking just went bonky...the only thing I know is that they need to get him away from his dad, and I think RKOing him to revive his "Legend Killer" gimmick is the best route to go...after that, I don't know... Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 This is so weird but most of the times we know what is going to happen because you always have one logical answer but now....really this is just hard. I'm still thinking highest possibility is JBL, but he has been buried too much though. Eddie is an option but I wonder if they'll do it. Randy Orton...big chance now. Btw, Ken Kennedy can easily be a draw.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 how??? how can Ken Kennedy actually be a draw? I don't think he's even transitional champ material at this point...
naiwf 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 Kennedy would get shitted on worse than Orton did when he turned face. I'd go so far as to say it would kill his career to put the title on him when his finisher isn't even a "name" move yet. Does Kennedy have potential? Yes. Does he have credibility? Absolutely not. The only legit choices at this point are Eddie, then a major step down to Rey, Benoit, Orton & JBL, and I'd rank them in that order given their current storylines and recent booking. If they put the belt on anyone outside of that group they're insane, unless Edge moves to SD as a transitional champ, and even then I think the fans would hate that. Anyway, I think it's obvious that the WWE is in full panic mode. I mean, if a hundred different people can come here and talk about a hundred different ways they could book who gets the title, imagine what's going on in the actual booking meetings. It's been my experience that (lately) when the WWE is paicking, we get crap(pier) storylines. We could very well see Vince Mcmahon as our next world champ. If the announcers don't have a name for your finisher yet, and you've only been on TV for 3 months, you're not ready for the World Title on your show. The bad thing is that if they make a horrible choice for champ, we're likely stuck with that guy headling SD's matches for SurSer, the Rumble and possibly WM, which is not going to be good. gWIL 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 Her's what I would do, Long announces that Batista is unable to compete only to have Dave come out and say he can still win and wants a title defense at Survivor Series. A Fatal 4-Way Elimination #1 Contendership Match is made between Guerrero vs Lashley vs Mysterio vs Orton. Lashley picks up the huge upset and at Survivor Series it's the injured Champion vs the Rookie (who is in his first title match, ever) and to the marks it's unclear who will win. Lashley wins a short match and is suddenly a main event player, but is still unproven. He can be like Tommy Gunn in Rocky 5 in that he's the champ but he's not the best. They could even make look like they were trying to keep the title on him and isn't quite facing main event talent. This leads to Batista/Lashley 2 for Mania where Lashley tries to prove he is better than Batista and depending on how his reign goes he can retain it or drop it and turn heel. This only works if Dave can work a short match. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 Kennedy needs to come up with a different finisher IMO. I like the move, but he's risking injury everytime he does it and he's probrably already accrueing cumulative damage. Kennedy is a Dr. Jho appointment waiting to happen. For his sake, I hope he gets a different finisher.

I only ask because you want green as grass Bobby Lashley to dominate Batista (short match) on a Big Four PPV, and then you want him to compete in one of the two or three Main Events at WrestleMania. This is a guy with 7 appearances on TV so far and whose career highlight to date is beating Nunzio & Big Vito in a handicap match. I would completely give up on the brand if this is the best they could come up with.
gWIL 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 The angle would be that Titsa was injured and that's why he lost, it may have been a fluke. In fact, I would go totally Rocky 5 with it and have Dave believe that Lashley really beat him and become his his mentor as he recovers until Bobby turns on him and Batista realizes he can beat Lashley.
