LJSexay 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2005 so. why do Kiera Knightley's movies do so horrible in the Box Office? Is it really because they all suck, save POTC?
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2005 4th highest ever to reach #1. And it did it without a holiday. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought Bob Barron was the one with those facts. I actually saw Shopgirl this week. Which wasn't high on my list, but cuddling up with a nice girl in an empty theater is always good

Is it really because they all suck, save POTC? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> People are sick of Jane Austin remakes? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> People are sick of bad Jane Austin remakes. She still has her fans but the remakes come like 10 years or less apart. It's getting kind of nuts. Plus let's face it, Keira just isn't a box office draw. She'll still have the Pirate movies so she'll get work.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 21, 2005 Domino is her only "box office friendly" movie, where she could be considered the main draw. I don't consider Jane Austen films to be "box office friendly".
razazteca 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 Pride and Prejudice is on 221 theaters so it was not expected to be the #1 movie of the week but released at this time for the sole purpose of winning the best costume award at the Academy Awards.
ZGangsta 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 No way I want to defend Pride and Prejudice, because I'm sure it blows, but yeah it only played on 221 screens and got a pretty damn high PSA. And wow, that is some HUGE numbers for Harry Potter.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 It opened with 3,858 screens that had to be the biggest opening ever.

Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 Seeing Walk the Line on Tuesday, with a nice gal <{POST_SNAPBACK}> your mom? I know my mom wants to see it. Kiera Knightley needs to add 20lbs and then do a sex scene. I don't care if pirates are involved in said scene either.

There were tons of young-adults and even teens in the theatre that I went to.

the max 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 Me and the girlfriend took in Harry Potter on sunday. It wasn't as crowded as I thought it would have been, and I was entertained for the duration of it despite never reading one of the books and seeing five minutes of one of the movies on ABCFamily a few months ago. We'll be seeing Derailed and Jarhead soon enough.
