Xbox 360

Sure you do.

I remember a friend of mine was showing me all the US marketplace content, but if he tried to download something it realized he had an IP incompatible with being in the US. Getting demos from a Japanese account worked fine though.

Oh. I guess I'll find out. I have my main account, a Korean one I made for a free Hexic 2 download, one my friend made, and then I just recently made an account to use as a second friend list since I have run out of people I can delete on my full list.

So my 360 finally red-ringed today as I went to turn it on, so I'll be without mine for a while.

This was taken care of the day after. I was surprised Best Buy allowed me to return it and exchange it.

Do they allow you to extend your PRP after the 2nd year is up?

Does the Elite come with the HDMI cable? I was planning on getting a Pro and then picking up the HDMI cable...but if it comes with the Elite, it would really be the smart thing to just buy it and get the cable and an extra 60 gigs for $50 more.

It does....although 20gig has been plenty of storage for me, and HDMI can be had off monoprice.com for five or six bucks. I should point out that I've been RROD since the update, and haven't stored any games (to avoid load time, I'm stll not entirely sure what to expect) on the hard drive yet, so your mileage may vary.

Are we still doing the Ultimate Alliance thing?

I just got Mega Man 9 last night after getting free points from a friend. Shit is hard. The old Mega Man games aren't even challenging to me- I can breeze through each in a single sitting- but this one is tough.

It becomes not-that-tough-but-still-really-hard when you adjust to it (as in, get used to the timed jumps and realize that the first few times you play a level you should concentrate on collecting bolts so you can buy E-tanks), but then I tried playing as Protoman a few weeks ago and it's harder than ever. I still haven't beat the fortress levels either.

I can't.

I had to give my copy back to Best Buy (MUA/Forza 2 bundle) when my 360 red ringed.

I'll get a used copy or something, whenever I get the chance.

My bad, too. I keep forgetting/putting off playing Ultimate Alliance.

Hey Niner, why didn't you just get it repaired by Microsoft? If it was 3 red rings, it was most likely under warranty (3 years for that issue)

So my Xbox 360 won't read any disks at the first time now. I have to eject and reinsert everything. Does anyone have any tips other than the ones on the 360 support site? Also does anyone know if this would be under warranty, as I have had it just under a year now.

I didn't feel like having to wait that long, so I just took it back to the store the day after and they gave me a new one.

To me, it was better than dealing with Microsoft's customer support, which I've heard some horror stories about.

Fuck... I don't know which 2 to get out of Fallout 3, Fable II, Left 4 Dead (played), SvR 2009, and Scene It: Box Office Smash (played). Fallout is the one I am most interested in, but my philosophy due to having so many 360 games is to get the multiplayer titles first in order to experience them with my friends on Live. The single player games will still be the same no matter what I play them, and they are likely to drop in price by the time I get around to them.

Fallout 3 is fun, but knowing how big the game is you most likely won't be playing the 2nd game you're going to buy very much.

Fable 2 is also fun. I've actually enjoyed Fable 2 more than Fallout 3 but Fable 2 is shorter I believe.

Left 4 Dead I really don't know about, but i have some friends who've really enjoyed the game and give it lots of praise and if you want to get a role playing game, I recommend getting a shooter just in case you decide you want some fast pace action for a little while.

Smackdown vs Raw 2009 is a great fun game but if you get either Fallout 3 or Fable 2, I don't think you'll be playing a lot of Smackdown vs Raw 2009 as those two are much more challenging and will hook you.

Scene it box office smash more so just seems like a great multiplayer party game. Do you do a lot of multiplayer game parties?

Smackdown 09 is my first Smackdown since 06, and I like it, but the online play is laggy.

Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead are great, but being a PC snob, I think they're better on the PC. If your PC is not up to snuff, the 360 versions are still great experiences.

Edit: I've played Left 4 Dead on both platforms, and I believe even more than ever the PC version is better.

If your PC can handle it, get Fallout 3 on the PC hands down.

Long after Bethesda turns their back, the Fallout fanboys will keep the game going with mods. They've already discussed plans to completely remake Fallout 3 into Fallout 2 or other insane total conversion mods. With the GECK released, it's only a matter of time.

I wish I had a PC capable of running it.
