Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 For me, it's not so much refusing to give them a chance, but not wanting to see them win thanks to a hatred of all things burnt-orange-and-white (and also for Brown himself, especially after last year)... the same hatred that you should... well, fuck, we've been over that enough times How did Mack even cry last year? All he said was "It'd be a shame for these kids not to play in the BCS." He didn't twist anyone's arm. He didn't cry. He didn't beg. He didn't yell. He didn't scream. Everyone blew it out of proportion.

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 You're misprioritizing your hates. It should be 1. Texas 2. the secondary rival in the division 3. USC or whoever you personally hate.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 Given your history and background, how you could hate USC more than Texas is a mystery for the ages, I suppose

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 3, 2005 I'm for USC beating Texas, because it'll probably piss off dama. Also because I live in Big10 country and everyone seems to hate USC/Pac-10, and I like going against everyone else. I think I was the only one in the bar cheering USC during the Notre Dame game, but mainly because I hate Notre Dame.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 It comes from a hatred of California itself and most everything for it. I don't hate the state of Texas like I do the state of California. I've met Texans I've liked. I've never met a Californian that wasn't a stuck up holier than thou asshole.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 I'm for USC beating Texas, because it'll probably piss off dama. I could care less that Texas loses. I'd just hate the fact that USC won again. Oh well I can rest easy knowing they won't break OU's winning streak.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 So, you've probably "met" what...3 people from California No....why would you assume that? I've gone to school with people from California my entire life. I actually never meet anyone from East but I've met a ton of people from out West.

SilverPhoenix 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 For me, it's not so much refusing to give them a chance, but not wanting to see them win thanks to a hatred of all things burnt-orange-and-white (and also for Brown himself, especially after last year)... the same hatred that you should... well, fuck, we've been over that enough times How did Mack even cry last year? All he said was "It'd be a shame for these kids not to play in the BCS." He didn't twist anyone's arm. He didn't cry. He didn't beg. He didn't yell. He didn't scream. Everyone blew it out of proportion. Dama...I'm going to break this down one more time for you. Mack Brown for a whole fucking week, cried, rallied, bitched and whined all over the nation (concluding on ESPN) so that his team could get Into the Rose Bowl over the more deserving Golden Bears (and I am going to get into this later), who had a terrific season themselves. What happened that Sunday was a complete and total miscarrage of justice. By Texas getting into the Rose Bowl it did this. - It cheapened the Rose Bow - It cheapened the BCS - It totally invalidated Cal's Season - It disgraced College Football, which has been a running theme for 7 Years since the BCS started. It also set a very nasty precedent. You too can earn 14 million dollars if you cry hard enough. Not convinced. Okay...Then lets go to the collusion part of this. Cal was Ranked 4, Texas was Ranked 5. Cal had a Game on Saturday, Texas was dormant. Cal Wins Game, Cal moves down, and gets stuck in the Fucking Holiday Bowl. How is this possible. Because Coaches voted Cal down. Some of them were ranking them 8, but Cal won, and you're not supposed to vote down. Plus the Big 12 had 7 Coaches voting, can you make the connection here. I know I can, something was rotten in Demark, and everyone knew it. Not to mention that you're not supposed to base voting on the margin of victory anymore, because it's simply not fair, and had Mack Brown just kept quiet, then Cal would've been in the Rose Bowl like they should've. Now before you get into the arguement about how Cal lost the Holiday Bowl (which they shouldn't have), that doesn't matter. The Reason why? Ladies and Gentleman for the 567th Time, which Dama doesn't seem to get. Bowl Bids are Based on Regular Season Performance Bowl Bids are Based on Regular Season Performance Bowl Bids are Based on Regular Season Performance Bowl Bids are Based on Regular Season Performance Bowl Bids are Based on Regular Season Performance Now that we have that out of the way. Lets get into said performance shall we? Cal Goes 10 - 1 (7 -1 in Pac 10 Play) Finishes 2nd in the Conference Ranked 4th in the all of the Polls Only loss comes to number 1 Team in the Nation by 3 points, with the game decided on the last play. Texas Goes 10 - 1 (7 - 1 in Big 12 Play) Finishes 2nd in Big 12 South, and the Big 12 Overall Ranked 5th in all of the Polls Only Loss comes to number 2 Team in the Nation by 20+ Points, with the game being over on the kickoff, as they never scored. Present this information to any unbiased person, and ask them who should be in the Rose Bowl? It wouldn't be Texas. And that's the reason why people hate Texas, and hate Mack Brown. And Sports wise it's a pretty good reason. And no, California losing the Holiday Bowl doesn't validate your arguement, so stop using it.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Strangely enough, 2004 Damaramu would agree with you, DLK. He was one of the biggest boosters of Cal getting into the Rose Bowl of anyone last year. He was very disappointed they didn't make it.
lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 I agree with alot of your points but you have a few facts wrong: Mainly that Texas lost 12-0 to Oklahoma and that Cal lost 23-17 to USC. So its not like OU blew away Texas in that game. Basically it all boiled down to Brown's campaigning. Aaron Rodgers actually had a great point which was why is Cal in the Holiday bowl when teams like Pitt and Michigan who were not as high ranked got automatic bids for stumbling their way into a conference title. I mean either way you can't say Texas didn't deserve an at large bid, but you can say that there was no reason Cal should have been punished for beating a Southern Miss team who plays pretty much everyone really hard. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Actually OU beat Texas 12-0. Cal losing does validate it. It proves that Cal wasn't that good to begin with. If OU getting blown out by USC proves that Auburn deserved to be in the Orange Bowl then the same can be said for the Cal/Texas situation. And on top of that Mack still didn't cry. He never begged. He just said "These kids deserve to be in the BCS" when asked. So no my mind isn't changed and no I don't think I'm wrong. Why are USC's starters still in the game? And Texas was accused of running up the score? And how did UCLA even win this many games? That defense is horrible.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Another reason I dislike USC and want them to lose. I've never seen a cockier team in my life. Some of the comments they've made this season post game and some of the ones they made before this game(why would you call your opponents pansies? Why be a dick like that?) It's like USC has an attitude and a chip on their shoulder when they have no reason to be that way. They're so cocky that it just irritates me.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 And more towards the hated enemy that bitched and whined... how fitting. Once again. I don't think that Mack whined or bitched at all. He just simply stated that he thinks his team deserves to be there.
