Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 8, 2005 How is QB rating figured out, anyway? Magic! No, seriously... NFL Quarterback Rating Formula (National Football League) a = (((Comp/Att) * 100) -30) / 20 b = ((TDs/Att) * 100) / 5 c = (9.5 - ((Int/Att) * 100)) / 4 d = ((Yards/Att) - 3) / 4 a, b, c and d can not be greater than 2.375 or less than zero. QB Rating = (a + b + c + d) / .06 http://www.primecomputing.com/

nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2005 I wasn't being sarcastic... that's exactly how it's always been with Flutie. And I don't hate him. But, the love he got in Buffalo was sickening. Leena, try dealing with him while being a Masshole. The guy's appearance at his nephew's Thanksgiving day football game made the news. He could rape children and people would still say "that pass against Miami was wicked pissah, though". If Peytons only knock for MVP is not winning a big game what about the other guys? Palmer, Alexander, LT, and Tiki havent won any big games. Peyton's string of losing big games goes as far back as college. He's lost more big games than those other 4 put together. And it's rarely the RB that gets crap for losing a big game, so 3 of those 4 are kind of hard to compare to Manning. Lastly, QB rating is a joke. It pretty much rewards a QB for handing the ball off 70% of the time and throwing a majority of their passes as short, high-percentage passes. I'd rather have a QB with a lesser rating (but a better ability to single-handidly win a game) than a QB with a perfect rating even though his numbers are only 14 for 16 for 129 yards. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2005 Flutie is a lucky bastard if he gets such unwavering support from Boston. Johnny Damon goes 0-4 one day and you're calling for a trade

Slightly edited to remove me from the mix ... you said "you're", which implied that I gave a shit. Johnny Damon could go 0 for the rest of his career and I'd still be completely apathetic about it/him/the Red Sox/baseball in general.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 8, 2005 Not really, I'd say New England in general. There's quite a few from the New York/Jersey/Philly area around here as well, from what I've seen.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2005 That's not New England, that's Mid-Atlantic. "Northeast" would be the umbrella term

I'd rather have a QB with a lesser rating (but a better ability to single-handidly win a game) than a QB with a perfect rating even though his numbers are only 14 for 16 for 129 yards. Hence Rothlisberger's near perfect rating earlier in the season. That is the most arbitrary rating system I've ever seen. And Palmer has now torched the Steelers for 227 and 3, the Colts for 335 and 2, and the Bears, for 169 and 3 (The Bears have only allowed 4 other passing TDs all season.) Sure he lost the Colts game, but that's because his D couldn't stop the Colts. And the Colts are ridiculous. What's Palmer supposed to do to prove he can beat a good opponent? It's just the loudmouths from New England are louder and mouthier than our Northeast Bros in obnoxiousness ... leading people to think that there's more than us.
