chaosrage Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 Do you have The Collected Works of Christopher Benoit on your bookshelf or something? How do any of us know what Chris Benoit's writing style is? It's not like anything he wrote when he had a website and doesn't sound like anything he would write from the way he talks on TV.
2GOLD Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 What about Steve Austin? What was the relationship between him and Eddie?
Dangerous A Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 Austin was actually at Eddie's funeral. Some people will think that means he had a very good friendship with Eddie seeing as Austin didn't even attend Pillman's funeral, but that just means Austin wasn't as attached to Eddie as he was Pillman, so he could probrably attend this one without totally losing it. That said, I think they were probrably just good friends/acquaintances, not on the level of Benoit or Mysterio .
Guest JMA Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 On Bryan Alvarez's last radio show, he had Meltz on and Dave said that Steph and John Laurinits know who the person is and are madder than hell about it which makes me think it's an active roster person. I'd have to agree with Dave that it's an active roster person. Nothing pisses off WWE more than someone in the company criticizing them.
haVoc Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 What did Dave expect to happen? He usually hides his sources pretty well. He pretty much pointed out 5 or 6 guys when he wrote... Several of Eddie's best friends have e-mailed me in the last day or called and all were mad, including disappointed at Rey Mysterio for going through with it. One of Eddie's best friends (and one of the company's biggest stars of the past decade)
iliketurtles Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 Austin was the one who pushed to do a program with Eddie at King of the Ring 2002, but unfortunately because of the retarded idea of putting Lesnar vs. Austin in a throwaway match on RAW was in order and Austin leaving, it never happened. And that would of been a kick ass match.
iliketurtles Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 I think it's Batista to be honest. Jericho's my first guess but I don't think Stephanie would be pissed off. Maybe he was suppose to do a run-in and he said "Fuck that" and was the only one who said no. And Batista's been VERY critical of the WWE before and doesn't give a shit.
Rendclaw Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 (edited) This is Willie the Worker all over again. I have said it before that most of the roster is over a barrel in regard to their employment. They make six figures on average in the company, and a good percentage are married with children, and the rest have a certain lifestyle that they are accustomed to, now that they have said salary. That's why they do these wacked out angles and such, because number one it will lessen their status, and it could possibly get them fired. I know I am one of the older posters on here, being 37 come Monday, so I understand that dilemma. Vince has most of the guys by the short hairs, and everyone involved knows it. haVoc Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 I don't believe for a second Steph and Co. know which one wrote it. They're guessing just like us. I wouldn't put it pass them to punish and bury all of Eddie's friends for this, except for Rey who will be rewarded for going through with the angle.
Guest netslob Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 Well I'd like to throw out another suspect for who wrote that to Dave: Edge I didn't know this before Eddie's death, but if you listened to Edge's interview on wwe.com it is obvious he and Eddie were very, very good friends. I thought Jericho was very likely until DA reported that Steph is flipping out, which points to a member of the active roster. So Benoit appeared to be the only other suspect, but as others have said, it just doesn't sound like Benoit to me. Also, Benoit just doesn't seem like the type to e-mail people and complain to me, he has always struck me as a straight-up guy who if he felt strongly about a matter would just sit down with you face-to-face and talk it out. So I got to thinking about someone who was close to Eddie, is still active on the roster, AND has a demeanor/style that could be seen as similar to Jericho. Edge is who I came up with. The only thing you might be able to say against him is the "one of the company's biggest stars of the last decade" doesn't fit. But I think if you consider time in the company as a star, then Edge could be seen as fitting that discription. He's been with the company for almost a decade, and he has always been a star to some degree, from his tag team days with Christian and others becoming the man with the most tag team title reigns in the wwe, to his his constant push as a singles star and now being known as "money in the bank." So that's my pick for the man behind the mail. naaww, Edge doesn't care enough about his friends to put himself at such personal risk. i think it might be RVD. he's never been one to keep quiet when he's upset about something, consequences be damned.
Guest drdrainoscott Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 (edited) On Bryan Alvarez's last radio show, he had Meltz on and Dave said that Steph and John Laurinits know who the person is and are madder than hell about it which makes me think it's an active roster person. Actually, Dave said, and you can tell by his tone, Steph and John Laurinitis "know" who the person is. This was clearly stressed, implying that they think they know who it was, but they were wrong. Dave even said that he now knows at least two people who feel the same way, because they fingered the wrong guy. Listen to the recording again, you will understand it. I have a feeling that they fingered RVD since he is known to go on internet tangents. However, if anyone doubts about it being Jericho, based on what we know right now, you are mistaken. I mean, Dave even said that the angle was tearing apart his close group of friends in the business (Jericho, Beniot, Malenko and Mysterio)...it just has to have been Jericho. Jericho2000Mark Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 (edited) Jericho is a lot more likely to be considered one of the biggest WWE stars of the last decade than Edge or RVD. Edited December 3, 2005 by Jericho2000Mark
haVoc Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 Dave even said that the angle was tearing apart his close group of friends in the business (Jericho, Beniot, Malenko and Mysterio)... Good job, Vince. You've managed to tear apart one of the most closest, honest, loyal and hardest working groups in the wrestling business. My dislike for Mysterio is really growing. Even at their worst, HHH and HBK never whored out their families or late friends death/s.
Guest New Jake Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 Everyone who was envolved in this angle should be shat on. I'm particularly more pissed with Randy fucking Orton for letting Mcmahon use this angle to feul his pathetic push. But everyone deserves the middle finger for this. I give up on wrestling.
Guest The Z Man Tom Zenk Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 I have an idea. Get over it.
SuperJerk Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 My dislike for Mysterio is really growing. Even at their worst, HHH and HBK never whored out their families or late friends death/s. I feel the same way.

Masked Man of Mystery Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 I'd have to think at this point that Vinnie is holding a proverbial gun to Mysterio's head to havehim go through with this, I very much doubt this is what he wants to do
Guest tony manero Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 I don't like Rey Mysterio now because he's become WWEized. He's one boring fucker now with his same moves over and over and over. He did the 619 4 fucking times in the Survivor Series match. I'm glad the ECW crowd at ONS booed his ass.
Guest tony manero Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 BTW, the "Halloween is Bald" post by Meltzer is a riddle. The answer (linked or associated) is the wrestler who e-mailed Meltzer.
Guest GoJoe Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 Mexican wrestler Halloween sent the email?

It was a joke.
