Darthtiki 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2005 Who do the fans want to see as RAW GM? December 1, 2005 Ever since Shane and Vince McMahon said it was time to take out the trash last Monday night on RAW, the Internet has been buzzing with thoughts on who could replace Eric Bischoff as General Manager. WWE.com has also received thousands of e-mails from fans offering their opinions (click here to send an e-mail). Here is a sampling of who the fans want to see as RAW General Manager: From: Drew H. Please place Dusty Rhodes in the GM position for RAW. Simply said, he is a legend, and he can put that old school edge back into wrestling. From: Dane I would love to see Debra. She's a former Lt. Commissioner, looks the part in her sexy business suits, and is definitely fan friendly. From: Craig Stone Cold should be general manager because he would be fair and would make RAW more cool and would stun people with his Stunner. From: Peter I think Hulk Hogan would make a good GM because he has such a vast knowledge of WWE, and a firmness of decision. No one will argue with his judgement, so he can make good matches without being threatened. Plus he's a fan favorite and everyone would enjoy seeing Hulk still running wild in WWE. From: Nathan I believe that Bret Hart would make an excellent GM. Seeing how he can not wrestle, why not be in charge of all of the wrestlers? Best there is, best there was, best there ever will be. From: Christopher M. I personally believe that Eric Bischoff is the man for RAW’s General Manager. He is very good and because of him made WWE a power house at the present time. When he was running WCW, he was defeating WWE for a long time, I forget how many times, but because of him, made WWE get back into the right track. If the WWE decide to go in another direction, well then it’s obvious that Paul Heyman can get the job done as well. I wish Paul Heyman was the GM on SmackDown, he is a good fit for that brand. From: Jeremy I would love to see a "Team" of GMs for RAW... Dusty & Goldust has the potential to be classic if Dustin could go over the top with Goldust once again! From: Jonathan M. To me, it should Rowdy Roddy Piper because he has experience of knowing what it is like to make such big matches and big decisions. If you remember he one time acting as president back in 1996 when Monsoon was injured at the time. When piper was acting president he was afraid of nobody. From: Kevin N. I'd love to see Stephanie McMahon become the new Raw General Manager. Stephanie was, in my honest opinion, the best GM that WWE has ever had. She was fair to the superstars, had a great ring persona, and didn't mind mixing it up in the ring once in a while. Her ideas were innovative and inspiring, and having a female lead a brand show was a good change in direction. Only the suggestion of Dusty was the least retarded er worked

Guest JRE Report post Posted December 2, 2005 ...I was wishing my quiet suggestion of JR being a Gorilla Monsoon-like GM (mostly behind the scenes) would find it's way on there. Never hurts to wish.

Karc 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2005 Shane not mentioned means that Shane is the new GM. A swerve, except of course, that swerves are the norm now, and not a swerve. Thanks Vince, we already knew we were smarter than you, now take your internet-wannabe kiss-ass crony six-grade e-mailers back to Stamford. Like I said in the quartely report thread, I'm worried. McMahon has had enough of the internet. He's coming to brainwash us all.

razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 Why does Raw need a GM? Just have Vince show up once every 5 weeks or so to say "YOU'RE FIRED!". Its not like the GM character actually advances any storylines or angles other than "Tonight you're facing KANE!" or "It's your turn to take care of the retard" the GM character has been stale for years and is just a waste of time. Scroby 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 I kinda find it funny that Raw has had only 1 GM so far while Smackdown has had 3. I want Heyman back as GM, I really do. It'll probably be Shane through.
Guest Thrashist Report post Posted December 3, 2005 It has been surreal from day one that Eric Bischoff was chosen to be the GM of Raw, and thinking about it now, it's even more surreal that it's lasted this long. I remember thinking that he just wouldn't last as a simple on-screen performer, and eventually there would be friction. But what I don't understand is how he went from the guy calling the shots in a huge company like WCW (well, with Hogan's permission), to simply sitting idly by and showing up on televised broadcasts as a character. Like how is his behavior backstage with the other wrestlers, particularly the former WCW guys? What is his relationship with McMahon? Does he ever pitch ideas to creative? I've never read anything about Bischoff in almost any sense these past three years, so it's just interesting to see him just chilling out and showing up once a week for a thirty second backstage segment. The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 I'm more shocked that DEBRA made the list. Shit, Eugene was GM for a week and had the coolest fuck office ever (behind some of Foley's). I'd kill for the moon bounce to be back.

Silence 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 There's actually been 4. Steph, Heyman, Angle, Long. Angle was so bad as the GM last year that even he admitted that he hated being in the role. Stephanie seemed really annoying, though. She'd be a face one week, then she'd be acting heelish the next week by humiliating low mid-carders like Billy Kidman and Mike Awesome (I'm not a big fan of them but that segment was completely unnecessary) by giving them a negative pep talk backstage a week later on TV. However, Stephanie was at her worst during her GM run by the end of 2003, when she was in matches and in that horrible feud with Vince. As for the Raw GM, it unfortunately looks like we could get another McMahon as the new GM if Bischoff is replaced.
Chazz 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 If they Insist on keeping The GM Character on their shows, I'm just glad It finally looks like this will be the end of Bishoff's run In that position. I have nothing against him, but his act has grown beyond stale In the 3+ years he has been Raw's G.M.
Dandy 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 If he is not GM anymore, I hope they find some other role for him. I think he does a tremendous job, but the GM role itself is stale. His performances for what he is given is great.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 Is Jericho still touring with Fozzy? He's about the only person I'd like to see in the GM role at the moment, even though there might be heat on him thanks to Dave Meltzer.

Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 I think Bischoff is staying. What will Bischoff do now then? If they are going to fire him we would already know. He HAS to stay as GM, or he gets another role in the WWE

Guest Samantha Report post Posted December 4, 2005 I actually wouldn't mind is Shane became the new GM of Raw. He's the only McMahon that I can stand to watch and he can be entertaining. That is as long as he doesn't take up too much screen time. But then, I haven't watched the WWE for about a year (exception being the Eddie tribute's) so it doesn't really affect me. Guest Leelee Report post Posted December 4, 2005 My choice for GM would be some random old wrestler who only shows his face on TV for special announcements. Ah, the good ol' days.
