HHH is now obsessed with wrestling message boards

Recommended Posts

From Bryan Alvarez:

"This is so funny I can hardly even write it. Seems Triple H recently discovered the Internet. That’s funny enough, that a man in 2005 could just recently have discovered the Internet. It gets better. As the story goes, he went online and was shocked to read what people thought about him. I guess he figured he’d go online and hear everyone talking about how he was the next Ric Flair, and the greatest of all time, and so on. So now, he’s obsessed with message boards and such, and he’s outraged, which is why we got that angry promo on Raw last week and will be getting more insider bullshit in the future. There is a belief that he’s actually so obsessed about his legacy that he will in some way work hard to change the current perception. All I have to say is if that’s his plan, he’s done a pretty shitty job so far the last few weeks. In his defense, I was one of those on the Internet that did actually vote for him for the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame, and I’m also one of those who thinks that, in terms of his in-ring, he’s criticized more than he deserves. Now as far as his political maneuverings and such, and the reason he’s still on top right now after all these years and could get the WWE Title back whenever he wanted it (and will), that’s criticism that I wouldn’t consider unfair."

Well, I'm a Triple H mark and sell his praises a lot, so if he's looking for a "pick me up" he should read my posts. :)

Have you guys heard the Konnan shoot interview? I kind of feel like he does. He said that he doesn't respect the majority of internet fans because all they do is look for the negative in every scenario. Despite the fact that wrestling has provided them with years of entertainment and the workers put their bodies on the line, people just go on-line and bash whatever; whenever. Someone could make the case that "we complain because we care" but that's a tired argument. Just like the "if you don't like it, don't watch" subject. When it falls on deaf ears and only gives the IWC, as a whole, a negative stereotype, why do it? We're just making ourselves, collectively, look bad.

An example? Look at the TNA folder when we're talking about iMPACT! During the earlier shows, when iMPACT! had more wrestling and less character development, people were complaining because "none of the wrestlers mean anything." So, now when TNA start to try to develop a few more characters "the show didn't have any wrestling." You can't please everyone all the time and that's what the internet is. The people that aren't pleased doing all the conversing.

I liked Degeneration X and thought they were entertaining. I thought that they helped the WWF "Attitude Era." Triple H was a big part of that. Remember when Triple H was "The Crock" when making fun of both The Nation of Domination & The Corporation? Triple H has put on a lot of good matches too. His Wrestlemania XX 3-Way with Benoit & HBK for example. A Raw match against TAKA? A tag match with Austin against Benoit/Jericho where he tore his quad. I like the majority of his promos too although many people would disagree with that. I think a lot of people are sour on him because of things that they've read and they can't see through it to form their own opinions.

I don't really care about Triple H's backstage politics. Hell, if I were a wrestler, I'd want to be the best too. We've all heard all the stories. Triple H being closer to Vince than his own son. Triple H marrying Stephanie only because he wanted into the McMahon family. Verbally sabotaging other wrestlers careers to futher his own ego. You know how far fetched all of that sounds? How would it not benefit Triple H if wrestling was more popular and everyone made more money by doing less work? How could someone not have the possibility of developing feelings for someone that he spends months with at a time? It just all seems like a bunch of hyperbole to me because Triple H was the guy continually winning matches instead of a "smark darling." "He buried Jericho. He buried Booker T. He buried Rob Van Dam. He only "puts over" his friends." It's all old hat. If I were to blame that on anyone, I'd blame it on Vince since supposedly he's the one with the "final say." Of course, then people start talking about how "Triple H has Vince's ear." It's just a never ending HHH blast fest.

HHH put over Benoit @ Wrestlemania XX. He put over Flair recently @ Taboo Tuesday. He put over Batista @ three straight PPVs. All that gets ignored and people start looking for negative aspects. "Benoit's reign was a joke and he still had to play second fiddle to HHH." "He got his job back from Flair at the next PPV." "Batista got sent to Smackdown so people would forget about his feud with HHH." It just seems like, no matter what, you can come up with SOMETHING.

I mean, Triple H is on the road damn near everyday. Working damn near everyday. Having to go about finding different shit in a different place every single day. Where can I eat? Where can I workout? Where's this, where's that? Having to deal with fans despite how he feels. Having to deal with people at airports and restaurants and wrestling events. Working through pain. Being in pain all the time. Just like every other wrestler on the roster. What the fuck does Bryan Alvarez do? Form opinions and start rumors on the internet? Congratulations. I think all wrestlers deserve respect, including Triple H. From Chris Benoit down to Val Venis, Steven Richards and whomever. I know, personally, that I don't do shit. The last thing I need to do is go on-line and act like I'm better than someone that gives their lives for my entertainment.

This isn't a "just watch and shut-up" post, this is a "just have a little bit more fucking respect" post. That's my spiel.

Looks like after all his whining, he really does care what us "12 year olds on our parents' computers" think.

I. Love. HHH. As. Well.

He. Is. The. Greatest. Champion. Ever.

The. Game. Rules.

He. Is. A. Throw. Back. To. The. Days. Of. Harley. Race. And. Ric. Flair. And. Terry. Funk. Only. Better.

He. Also. Has. A. Beautiful. And. Intelligent. Wife.

Those. Two. Are. No. Way. Responsible. For. The. Decline. Of. The. WWE. Over. The. Past. 5. Years.

Has to be bullshit, his promo's have been laced with "net inside jokes" for what seems like 2-3 years now.

Exactly. HHH cut a promo after he won the world title earlier this year in the elimination chamber and said that we can believe whatever we want like "politics".

Awww, I kinda feel bad for him. Let's start being nice to Triple H.

But yeah, it does seem weird seeing as he's been trashing the net for a while now. Was he just doing that based on hearsay?

How does a story like this get uncovered? If Triple H was in a room on his own reading the 'net, how would anyone find out how he reacted? I can't really picture Triple H in an Internet cafe screaming "WTF!" every few seconds.

It doesn't mean he's been on the Internet; he could've easily been saying those things based on what's written about him in the WrestlingObserver Newsletter, of which he is a long term subscriber of.

And then getting banned for sixty minutes because he violated TOS.

That actually happened to Test one time in a chatroom that I was in.

I don't think this is true, but on the off chance it is:

Howdy, banana beak! Here's the truth for you. You're neither very bad or very good overall. You're capable of both solid promos and matches. You problem is that you've long been treated like THE MOST IMPORTANT WRESTLER EVER, and you're not. You never were. You never will be. When they look back and remember this era, you will be the fourth or fifth thing mentioned if you're lucky.

You and the organization you work for consistently overestimate your abilities. In everything you do, your reach exceeds your grasp. You're not an actor, but somebody convinced you that you were, and now we're all facing the consequences. You can carry a 20 minute promo about as well as you can carry Scott Steiner.

The harder you try, the worse it gets. And because this organization has pushed you like this, you're always going to be remembered as the guy who got more then he deserved, probably because of his family connections. And that will happen even on those rare occasions when you do something well.

I could almost respect you if were fully aware of things you pull, but now the word is that you actually believe your own propaganda. ow can one person be so clueless? Oh well, enjoy the rude awakening, and don't get me started about your wife.

Dear Mr. H,

Just what the hell has your character been for the last four years? Because I have no fucking clue

Sincerely,

Drew

Well, he's obviously a Flair ripoff, a technical genius of sorts.

Erm, maybe he's a badass, come to think of it.

No, no, no, he's the most intelligent man in wrestling.

Actually, he's the sarcastic guy who everyone thought was funny, but no one really likes.

He has split personalities.

Dear Triple H

Are you as excited about the new season of "The Venture Brothers" (coming 2006) as I am?

Who do some of you that hate him feel should be at the top level, instead? And why?
