dubq 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2005 The WWE Divas are usually the highlight for me, or when Stephanie McMahon and those big-azz titties come bouncing out, so that scratches that out. Okay, now you're just overcompensating.
dubq 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2005 (edited) I can't believe people actually back this guy because he looks like shit. I don't care if he DOESN'T have to look in shape, Murdoch is a bad choice for the IC devision. He looks like an old saggy piece of shit of the NWA mentallity, something that eventually killed that company. Oh, please, fuck right off and take wootman with you. How wrestlers LOOK does NOT kill a company. You're a complete IDIOT for even contemplating that. Jesus, look no further than the Four fucking Horsemen. Arn, Ole & Tully were never the most muscular of guys but they were fucking TOP OF THE LINE workers who could go for an hour in the ring and act like it were only five minutes. Even Flair, to a lesser extent, wasn't overly muscular or toned. Jake, I hope they sign someone CW Anderson and make him WWE Champion JUST to piss you off. That would be nice. nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2005 Why are they going to have a Flair/Murdoch feud? They set up a nice Flair/Edge feud on Monday night. Flair/Edge wouldn't need the IC belt. I'd say have Murdoch take the belt off of Flair (maybe have Edge-terference to keep Flair 'strong' for their feud) and have Murdoch feud with another midcarder over the IC belt. Of course, I can't think of a face midcarder for him to be facing. I'd have dug a series of Tajiri/Murdoch matches ... but it looks like that's not happening. EDIT: Evidently I fucked up and quoted the wrong post. Oops.

hyperchord24 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2005 Will someone teach the WWE the art of the breakup feud? When a tag team is formed, there is a feud ALREADY built in: When they break up! This mindless team two guys together, then break them up sends fans home confused.
Hoff 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2005 That's interesting. I used to think they did too many break-up feuds, back in the 80s and 90s. But, maybe my memory is playng tricks on me. You're certainly right, now, though. They just let teams disappear these days. It doesn't make sense.

It's not like they were Edge and Christian or the Hardy Boyz. Fans probably thought Cade and Murdoch were local talent brought in to job to the WWE talent. This mindless team two guys together, then break them up sends fans home confused. For some wrestlers, the break-up feud works fine. Although a Big Show/Kane feud doesn't sound too exciting. That said, WWE is ridiculous for breaking a team up without having them actually break up ON TV.

nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2005 This isn't Michaels & Jannetty or even the Can-Am Connection you're talking about. It's two guys who teamed together for a short time and currently aren't teaming together. Maybe they've just decided to not be a tag team for a while, and it was a mutual decision. Why would they necessarily need to feud?

Jake, I hope they sign someone CW Anderson and make him WWE Champion JUST to piss you off. That would be nice. "Fakes heart attack ala JBL" Dickhead. And to make refference to the drug policy, what the fuck. That's a bullshit excuse. Are WWE basically trying to say everyone who IS in shape should get a push? Get real. If thats the case then I care not a shit for the "no steroids" policy. Who can actually assume WHO is taking steroids? At this rate, we can say goodbye to wrestling alltogeather. No, the fans aren't going to cheer Murdoch. He's a heel. Thus, he'd be booed. And I can only speak for myself, but I don't decide how much I like or dislike a guy based on how built he is. "Oh, I can't dislike Murdoch, he's not as jacked up as other wrestlers. He must suck and stuff." Secondly, the NWA's success or failure had nothing to do with how built it's wrestlers are. Period. If you think that's the case, you're stunningly unintelligent. Besides the fact that you'd have to ignore the fact that they had a shitload of guys that were jacked or at worst in good con(Nikita & Kruschev, Road Warriors, Magnum TA, Von Erichs, just to name a handful) ... you'd have to ignore the fact that the NWA was uber-successful even with 'fat' guys. And the Horsemen are indeed comparable, since people were talking about how in shape wrestlers were, not how good of a wrestler. Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is the Old Jake. This new one sucks. Thanks, TSM

Toxxic 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2005 You know, I'm thinking that they should get some other vaguely-flabby but fairly brawny guy and bring him up, then send him around kicking the shit out of all the jacked-up pretty boy heels like Orton and Masters and Dupree and Grenier and... well, pretty much everyone they've brought up in the last three years except Murdoch and Snitsky, I guess. The heels claim their magnificent physiques and excellent conditioning will win them the day, then Stan Hansen-a-like takes them out. Not only would you have a face that the vast majority of fans would get behind, but the WWE would be sending a positive message about non-steroidal wrestlers. Plus after a while, wrestlers (heels at least) might not WANT to take roids cos they know they'd get jobbed out!

Sass 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2005 I think Dick Murdoch was one of the best in-ring workers of all-time and I doubt he'd make the cover of Muscle & Fitness during his prime. Body physique is overrated in wrestling if the guy can't connect with the fans through promos or in-ring body language. Junkyard Dog also wasn't an adonis and yet he managed to sell out the (former) Superdome, something WCW never could do.

Guest Fook_Theta Report post Posted December 10, 2005 Here's what I don't get. Cade was about to be let go when he pushed for the idea of a cowboyish character. They got the gold, were jobbed out and in a meaningless "feud" with Hurri-Rosie/Heartthrobs, and now obviously everyone is wanting to push Murdoch since he's actually getting a reaction. Plus one key to wrestling is facial expressions and Murdoch has been solid so far. The point is, it happened so fast that it further puts the long term planning of the WWE creative into question. Hell, he might now since physiques may not be a major priority now. SPINEBUSTAH~!
