CBright7831 Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 (edited) Since I did a thread similar to this last year, I thought to myself, "Why not again, this year?" I will defiantly be buying a ticket to go see... + V for Vendetta + Superman Returns (not a big Superman fan, but I enjoyed the 78 movie and it's sequel) + Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest + Miami Vice I may buy a ticket to go see.... + X3 + The Da Vinci Code (not a big book fan) + The Departed (may wait for this on DVD, and it will probably be released nationwide in '07) *Card subject to change, of course. ZGangsta Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 Definately seeing: V for Vendetta Superman Returns The Fountain Hmm, all 3 are comic book movies...(well The Fountain was a movie pitch first, then a graphic novel, and finally a movie) X3 I'm not sure about. I loved X2, but with Bret Ratner helming this and the things I've seen and heard so far, it just doesn't inspire me with confidence about the movie. Pirates 2 could be awesome, but I don't know much about it yet.
Mole Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 Good God, ummm... X-3 Superman Returns Da Vinci Code Ice Age 2 The Cars or whatever that Pixar movie is called Mission Impossible 3 The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (Just because I saw the first two in the cinemas and I figure might as well for the 3 count. Yeah I know...) Lady in Water Miami Vice Rush Hour 3 Clerks 2 Sin City 2 (I think this is slated for 2006)

kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 I don't even know what will be playing in '06, so it's interesting to see in these threads what's on the agenda...
BUTT Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 Foodfight. An animated movie about grocery store products.
Alro Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 I don't go to the theater often, but I'll definately be seeing X3.
The Mandarin Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 Sin City 2??? Yeah, I had no idea either until about 35 seconds ago. So I'll be seeing that, X3, Will Ferrell's NASCAR movie, V for Vendetta and The Departed.
Gary Floyd Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 Superman Returns V is for Vendetta Curious George Snakes on a Plane (Hey, why not?) Slither Hostel Grindhouse Hills Have Eyes Tamara Calvaire
Si82 Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 Sin City 2??? Yeah, I had no idea either until about 35 seconds ago. I've just been reading about it in the new issue of Total Film. It's supposed to be based around "A Dame to Kill For" along with new material. Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Brittany Murphy, Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba and Michael Clarke Duncan are all set to return.
Guest Evolution Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 Besides the movies from 2005 that I have yet to watch: Hostel Freedomland 16 Blocks V for Vendetta Inside Man Slither Silent Hill Flight 93 Art School Confidential Poseidon The Da Vinci Code See No Evil (DVD) X-Men 3 Nacho Libre Click Superman Returns Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest School for Scoundrels Lady in the Water September Grind House Stranger Than Fiction
ZGangsta Posted December 30, 2005 Report Posted December 30, 2005 X3 I'm not sure about. I loved X2, but with Bret Ratner helming this and the things I've seen and heard so far, it just doesn't inspire me with confidence about the movie. What have you heard? Well first off, Ratner's not a good director. And Bryan Singer and the writers had a clear 3rd movie mapped out, but then they went to do Superman Returns and Fox got mad. See Singer was going to do Superman and then the 3rd X-Men movie afterwards, but Fox got petty and said 'screw you Bryan we're going to get a different team to make X3 and realease it before Superman Returns.' So the movie actually has a pretty rushed shooting schedule and isn't going to receive the care it needs. Another problem is Halle 'worst part of the other X-Men movies' Berry. She bitched up a storm and threatened to quit unless Storm got a much bigger part, and the studio bowed down to her. So look forwared to much more crappy acting in this one and stupid crap like a Storm/Wolverine romance. The script leaked and although it was a first draft, supposedly all of the major plot points remain. So people who shouldn't die, die in really lame ways , the main conflict is rather pedestrian and is a 'been there, done that' sort of issue, and characters like Nightcrawler just don't appear at all in the movie. Oh and Juggernaut looks really crappy (you can see him in the trailer). But then again, the trailer looked pretty bad-ass, so who knows?

Well I know the movie is about the mutant cure, which is Joss Whedon's idea. Sooo, it can't be that bad right. I actually thought Singer dropped the X-Men series to do Superman and wasn't going to come back.
CBright7831 Posted December 30, 2005 Author Report Posted December 30, 2005 I should probably add Munich to the list since it will be released nationwide in 06.

MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 30, 2005 Report Posted December 30, 2005 There isn't a single damn movie I would pay $10 to go see at a theatre on that list. Sequels..prequels..remakes..more comic book moviess...sequels of movies from 10 years ago that dont need a sequel to start with..video game movies that always suck..movies that should be direct to DVD...more pointless tv show movies (Stop the fucking TV show movies please!)..does anyone actually want to see either 9/11 movie 5 years after the fact, let alone ever? Ugh.. The interesting thing is that I did get $40 worth of gift certificates to the new Regal Stadium Cinema 16 here..so I will go to see a couple movies (40 bucks might get me to 4 movies if I do matinees)..but damn..I didnt think anything could have been worse than 2005, but 2006 is looking like a year full of crap.
CBright7831 Posted December 31, 2005 Author Report Posted December 31, 2005 I will admit, 2005 has been a pretty solid year for me. ROTS, Kong, and BB were my three favorites from 2005.
