Aero 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2006 Kane must be stronger than Henry. I know for sure that he broke off the HIAC door in his debut, but it was either him or SNITSKY that broke the same cage door off in their cage match on the Raw after last year's Rumble. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2006 Henry can thank his lucky stars that few people will really ever get to see this. On Smackdown I bet they edit it down and make him look like a monster who ripped the door off legit. You don't think they'd actually use him as a transition guy by some chance do you? As in win the title at the Rumble, job it to whoever at No Way Out, then have Batista chase for WM.
MikeJordan23 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2006 That Mark Henry segment is overblown. It's not nearly as bad as people were making it out to be.
Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2006 It looks like the whole feed of this week's show is available on the net From Wrestling Observer.com Hi Dave, Don't know whether you know about this, but there is a version of tonight's WWE Smackdown show available for download all over the net. It's a two hour plus tape of Tuesday's satellite feed, and as well as the entire show, it also includes some interesting stuff, mainly Tazz and Cole dialogue between takes, planning what they're going to say in the next segment and communicating with Vince and Kevin Dunn backstage (whose voices you don't hear). The tape starts off with the Teddy Long pre-show promo before the crowd, running down the card for the show. Just as Long gets to announce the cage match main event as a 'surprise', Tazz jokes, "Well duh, there is a cage hanging above the ring!" When Cole remarks about the crowd noise being too loud in his ear, Tazz remarks, "What, are you Joey Styles or something? No prima donnas allowed here." During the break, after the first segment with the Boogeyman placing worms down Jillian Hall's panties, Tazz laughs and says, "What a frigging segment, huh?!" Cole describes it as 'wild', and laughs, mentioning how you could see Boogeyman hiding in JBL's limo. Tazz then speaks to Vince via headset and acknowledges he messed up his opening line on the show, namely saying 'First tag team cage match in six 'yong lears' (sic)"... Tazz then proceeds to cuss (dropping the F-bomb) because his water bottle had got knocked on to the floor when the announcers table was demolished by Hardy and JBL. Cole begins to complain about having to do the entire show without an announcers table. They began to plan what they were going to say in the next segment when Cole interviewed Melina in the ring after Henry's handicap squash. In a funny moment, a trailer of Kane's movie aired to the live crowd only, and just as it finishes, you hear Tazz whisper, "Stinks". Whether he was referring to the movie, who knows. After the Batista press conference segment, Cole gets angry with Tazz, as he forgets what they had discussed they were going to say to Booker T, when he provided color in the next segment ("Make sure you put him over on being on the cover of the magazine"). The funny thing is, in the next segment, when Booker sits down to do color commentary, Tazz does compliment him on it, exactly as described. There is a screw up in the finish of the Benoit vs Orton match. Jordan is supposed to level Benoit with Booker's crutch, to get Orton disqualified, but he stumbles in the ring and the crutch actually hits Orton first. This was edited out of the subsequent replays, although in the replay that will air, you do see Jordan kneeling down when he nails Benoit. It's interesting that they show slo-mo replays of key incidents during the breaks, in order for the announcer to prepare what they're going to say when they come back on the air. Just before the main event, Cole again remarks, in reference to the announce table being down, "It's really uncomfortable to call a match like this," adding to an agreeing Tazz, "It's not about me or you". Just for the record, it took Mark Henry a total of 2 minutes and 22 seconds to break into the cage. From the time Henry appeared, to the time Batista was finally pinned, both members of MNM had to sell being unconscious in the ring for 5 minutes and 14 seconds. As well as struggling with the cage, after tearing the cage door off its' hinges, Henry also struggled to fit it into the cage, as was the plan. There was a guy giving Henry a hard time during his struggles, first yelling, "C'mon, you're the World's Strongest Man" and then when he finally ripped the chain off the door, "That's what you should have done in the first place." Henry had words with him on the way out of the ring after the show. All in all, it was a really interesting way to watch the show and see how Cole and Tazz interact when 'the cameras aren't broadcasting', so to speak.
hyperchord24 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2006 The Mcmahons can't be too happy with tonights show. Somebody's gonna be FIIIIIIIRRRRED!!!!!!!!!!! Mybe it'll be Cole or Tazz for not helping Henry with the cage, like a good employee would have.

Astro101 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2006 (edited) I'd be watching Smackdown right now if the show was being aired unedited like that instead of this interesting King Tut archeaology dig movie on History Channel. Actually, I just watched the video...the more embarrassing part was Henry trying to fit the door into the cage and struggling. Opening up the door the hardway was pretty impressive. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2006 After seeing SD tonight is anyone else baffled as to how Orton is going to be in title contention against Batista anytime soon? Right now he seems more plausible going to WM in a US title program with Benoit or Booker T.
4hartthreat 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2006 Why the hell is Orton facing Benoit in the 7th match of a Best of Seven series between Benoit and BOOKER T??? The last two weeks were fine with Booker being injured, but he apparently will be fine very soon. Could they really not hold this off until the Rumble? Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2006 This is why Orton+Melina would have worked so much better. Melina would give Orton the heat he needs, puts him that program with Batista using the whole "Orton knows Batista better then anyone else on SD" excuse. Henry should have been in Orton's place considering Benoit took Henry out long ago. How is Orton supposed look like a credible world title contender when he can't beat Benoit for the US title after owning him in 2004?

How is Orton supposed look like a credible world title contender when he can't beat Benoit for the US title after owning him in 2004? My guess is that the WWE is going about this in the exact same way that they hotshotted the WHC on him right after he dropped the IC title with next to no build up. I'm guessing that they'll worry about his credibility AFTER they put the title on him, instead of before since well that's the logical way to do things, and they seem pretty averse to that. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2006 Or better yet just drop the idea for the time being since Orton has no heat and just go with a big money match like UT/Batista for WM. Then Orton can rebuild his heat a bit and go after whoever emerges.

hyperchord24 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2006 lol @ Tazz for putting over the raw "power" of Lashley after he tripped the guy. He didn't shove him, he didn't slam him. He TRIPPED his opponent. Yeah, fans will crap all over this guy faster than they crapped all over Cena's title reign.
haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2006 That Henry segement wasn't that bad, and it could have put over how hard it is to break into the steel cage, and Henry's strength at the same time. Damn good idea. If WWE were creative, they could have re-dubbed the unedited footage to put over the steel cage for doing what it was designed to do. Keep the wrestlers inside from escaping, and keep outside interference from occuring. At the same time they could have put over the ungodly strength of the worlds strongest man to be able to break into the steel cage.

Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2006 Yeah I watched the unedited Smackdown!, quite funny. Also, where did Ken Kennedy go after one match? And Lashley's promo sucked big time, he can't act, he has a way too soft voice. He shouldn't be talking, just wrestle.
LJSexay 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2006 I didn't think his voice was soft. I don't understand what some of you are hearing, man. Anyway, It should go on record that while SmackDown has the crummier packaging in terms of ... everything... it is still, the better brand. Their booking does not tak too much away from having some solid matches one way or another.
