FUTURAMA RETURNS!

Recommended Posts

The studio has begun talks to revive the Emmy-winning animated series and produce a limited number of new episodes

I'm guessing that means they'd be "feeler" episodes to gauge viewer response, ratings, etc.

Knowing Fox, they've probably decided to axe it again already. I'm still happy about this though, definitely one of my favourite shows.

I say axe King of the Hill and add Futurama in it's place. That show's had too long of a run, already.

I've always knocked it for being a pale Simpsons imitation, but I too have been watching it lately on Adult Swim and admit it's a lot better than I remember.

Ditto.

They're still flip-flopping. I have to say that I don't get your criticisms, Czech. Futurama doesn't pelt you with jokes the way that FG or the Simpsons do, but it stays entertaining throughout an episode, and tells a good story, too. I also agree with whoever said that the show had a lot of heart, as it often left me feeling warm and fuzzy.

I didn't really criticize the show. I just said it's never been something I needed to see.

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/criticize

Main Entry: crit·i·cize

Pronunciation: 'kri-t&-"sIz

Function: verb

Inflected Form(s): -cized; -ciz·ing

intransitive senses : to act as a critic

transitive senses

1 : to consider the merits and demerits of and judge accordingly : EVALUATE

While you didn't list your likes and dislikes of the show, you most certainly took those into consideration as you made a value judgement. Hence, criticism.

While it's not as good as the classic simpsons, its leaps and bounds over the current episodes. The good thing about the show is that as it takes place in the year 3000, they can have completely off the wall and insane adventures that wouldn't make sense if they took place in the simpsons. Being set in the future means noone can contradict their claims on how things will end up.

The only thing I didn't really like on the show was how they had Bender alot of the time. I just felt he was trying to hard to be in your face, rather than in your face. The character of Peter Griffin, or even Homer are ten times the obnoxious character Bender could ever hope to be.

Anybody else find it ironic that Matt Groenig absolutely loathes Family Guy, but now it is FG's success that has opened the door to get one of his shows back on the air?

Actually, Matt Groening apparently likes the Family Guy now. Still, it is a weird situation.

I can't wait to see these movies.

They should bring back Firefly while they're at it...

Someone alrady did. It was called "Serenity". I paid to see it twice, and it tanked at the box-office.

Its time to move on.
