Sting, Shawn Michaels and Vince Russo on TBN right NOW

Recommended Posts

The best part was one time flipping through and watching Sting fighting the tag team of Lust and Envy managed by Ted Dibaise. Basically Ted plays the devil at the "wrestling" shows they do and Sting has to act like he is losing until he starts quoting from the bible, a spotlight appears on him as he reaches to the sky and he stands up. Then he kicks some unholy ass while Ted runs off.

It's hilariously bad in an awesome kind of way.

I guess I missed it. Just some wacky Christians talkin Jesus now.

You haven't missed it.

They'll be going back to Sting in a few minutes.

I always get disappointed when I see the movie The Outsiders coming on tv because for a moment I think of Scott Hall and Nash coming out to rule the wrestling universe for 2 hours, instead it's some movie about Matt Dillion as a gangster.

Geez,

He couldn't even go as Mike Hickenbottom for a religious show? I guess all the audience members in this show are WWE fans. I mean if you are bearing your soul about your love for God shouldn't you use your real name? Are we Kayfabing Jesus now??

He's never gone by "Mike". He's been called Shawn, even by his family, since he was a kid.

And yeah, that was interesting. I wonder what HBK vs. Sting would have been like in 1996?

I remember buying a PWI in probably summer of 96 that had that question on the cover: Sting Vs. HBK

I don't recall who they gave the edge.

That match would be the shit

nah, in 1996 it would have been pretty good depending on how much they were willing to sell for each other.

If taken place after Fall Brawl 1996, Sting would've just started his Crow gimmick. Meaning he would've had a match with HBK where he no-sold everything thrown at him. Of course, HBK was in full-political-Clique mode at this time too, so he would've been overcoming the odds every 5 minutes only to get knocked down again. Sting would do his signature "punch-back chop-kick to the gut-Scorpion Deathdrop" combo that he used every week against the nWo, then HBK would rally back with his "three punch-flying forearm-Chin Music" combo. Pretty much you'd be seeing who could kick out of who's finisher the most times before both guys just got exhausted of doing so. It wouldn't have been a GREAT match but it would've gotten a good crowd reaction. I'm not bashing the either man though because it was Sting's Crow gimmick that got me so hooked on him, and HBK was capable of doing some amazing things in the ring back then (and still is today).

Pre Fall Brawl, MY GOD this would've been amazing. HBK in his prime vs Sting when he was still selling. There isnt much I can say about this one other than it had the potential to be a classic.

I'm surprised that Michaels and Dibiase couldn't get Sting to join the WWE.

That's because the last time the WWE approached Sting about joining the company, Sting told them that if they wanted him they'd have to hire Lex Luger too.
