No good spin can be made of this. None. Zero. Zlinch. It's nothing but bad news.

TNA has apparently lost the confidence of SPIKE and that is big time troubling.

It's not that Spike has lost faith in TNA; Spike didn't think TNA could break the 1.0 barrier. Obviously, Spike aren't totally behind TNA, but they haven't lost faith in them, or they would stop giving them any specials and wouldn't have helped them get Sting.

FROM WON:

The reason TNA had their unopposed Monday night show canceled the week that the dog show is preempting RAW, is because TNA was told by Spike to sign another marquee talent (ala Sting) and failed to do so.

No one else is left but Jericho and he wasn't going to sign. SpikeTV is being unrealistic. I don't care how many big name stars TNA signs, you don't promote it (they haven't promoted one TNA Thursday special) then what the hell does it matter?

Probably a good move for TNA. They've already got enough egomaniacs backstage running things - they don't need more.

You got Jarrett, Sting, Styles having temper tantrums if there's ex-WWE guys backstage and publicly bitching about "his spot", AMW being protected to an extraordinary degree - you don't need Goldberg or Lesnar coming in and doing the same

Wow, Spike is being the bad guys here. More so than TNA not doing the right thing for its product. This reminds me of what happened (though not a total mirror of the things that went on) promotional wise when ECW was on TNN. They stick it on a time when people would not be home to watch television (newsflash Spike/TNN: Friday and Saturday Nights are dead nights for shows, and have been since the 90s, hence why the lineups on those nights keep changing) thereby the full potential ratings for the show will never be reached, but you'll at least get people to record the show if you promote it more...

That's right Spike doesn't even do that. Except for a few commericals on Monday, and Saturdays, TNA is rarely mentioned on the network. They do promote the shit out of UFC, and their videogame show though (which comes on at 12:00 AM Saturday Night, ironically).

Though TNA is also gulity. Impact has become a jobber filled show. I acutally liked it better when they were doing 2 "big" matches a week. TNA needs a 2 Hour Show, badly. Othewise I have a bad feeling this will continue.

TNA should've just went out and signed a "big name" like Buff Bagwell or Lex Luger to a small one year contract and said "Ok, Spike, we signed one more big name. Give us our Monday night special now!"

I just don't know if I believe this excuse. I mean, what is to gauge who is a "big marquee name" and who isn't?
