Any1 looking for RVD on Raw tonight?

Recommended Posts

That doesn't mean RVD might not show up for an early surprise. WWE did that when they advertised Big Show coming back in (three weeks) back in 2004. Instead, I believe he came back later that same night.

A backstage interview is most likely, though it would be kind of neat to see him run in and screw Carlito out of the match with Kane.

Not that Kane should have any trouble destroying Carlito and all :P

With the weird way WWE books Carlito, he'll get way too much offense even on Kane.

Yeah, that's what happened a recent house show (the one Cawthorn posted).

I predict the match goes way too long, Carlito makes way too many cover attempts, Kane fights his way out of three sleeper holds, and the only way Kane wins is if RVD shows up.

I could see him doing some kind of backstage interview or cameo kind of thing to hype up being in the Rumble match, but that's about it.

Having Rob talk is not the best idea for his return.

It's been such a long time since I've heard the words, "Dude, relax" as an interview. We need more interviews like that, just laid back and not much to say. Hell, I'll take an RVD 'promo' over Masters, Carlito or Edge.

Don't forget Coach saying "Have you ever seen ANYBODY manhandle Kane like this?"

Correction: Having Rob do WWE-ified, scripted promos is not the best idea for his return.

In an attempt to capitalize on current hip and cool youth culture while still giving us the rollicking WWE humor we all love so much, RVD will be given Jim Breuer's character from Half-Baked.

I don't think RVD will be doing his "Dude, relax" crap anymore. Wasn't that the point of his rant at One Night Stand? The fact that he feels capable of more on the mic but they script lame hippie promos for him?

I've never felt WWE truly understood RVD's persona. They took one aspect (the stoned out, chilled dude aspect) and made it his ENTIRE act. The real RVD is somewhat like that but he's more of a cocky asshole, someone like T.O. that you love when he's on your team, but hate if he's on the other team. His best stuff is really kind of heelish, but right now the last thing Raw needs is another heel. RVD gives them someone that the fans actually will cheer.

The problem is RVD doesn't seem to have an ounce of control. I'm sure RVD is much more capable as you said and I've seen what he can do when allowed, the problem is they will never allow him to do it on WWE programming. Be nice but they won't.

I think the Jim Breuer character is more likely than RVD being the cocky laid back asshole. Even when he was a cocky laid back asshole you still want to cheer for him because he would win and back it up.

RVD should do his interviews in the calm, relax, arrogent style without the drug references just like Samoa Joe does. His 1st interview should be with Maria since she is stupid, which would give RVD an excuse to talk at a slower pace.
