JN News Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Has anyone here gotten this documentary film on Enron? I bought it today for $20.00, and it was pretty good. It gave me a much closer look at the Enron scandal.
4hartthreat Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Yeah, I saw this at the theater a while back. Very interesting, very informative, and very deserving of its recent best documentary feature nomination for the academy awards.
NoCalMike Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Is it true that it sets the record straight about Enron being a corrupt corporation across the board, rather then their PR people trying to say it was an honest company that made some accounting mistakes?

Yes sir. Absolutely. This film completely exposes ENRON for what it truely was. A corrupt organization totally drunk with greed & power.
bobobrazil1984 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 was this one of the movies expirementing with the release windows? ie, releasing it to theater and then releasing the DVD very soon after? I think mark cuban's company released this.
MDH257 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 It aired on Cuban's TV Network (HD Net) around the time it was released in theaters, but it wasn't released on DVD until January.

I think mark cuban's company released this. A lot of independent documentaries have been doing that for years. Just for the mere fact that it is hard to get screenings for them outside of NY and CA on a consistent basis, so they release the DVD to get the word of mouth and then cities one by one have screenings.
Skywarp! Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 The most frustrating scene in the whole movie is when two sales associates are laughing with glee about cutting out the power in California, while footage was shown of people being loaded into ambulances at intersections with dead traffic lights.

Yeah, that one really got my blood boiling.

Along with the clips of the forest fires with them going "Burn baby, burn!"

Really? That actually comes around and legitimately makes them cutting off the power funny.
