A few years ago I had a boss that used to do this while at work. This is a guy that was upper management in a teleconferencing company, pulling in about $110k a year, and would spend all sorts of time trolling around the lesbian chat rooms pretending to be a dyke. Needless to say we didn't have much respect for him.

Nah, I have always used my own pictures, and posted many of them from 2001 on. Before that, everyone associated me with Lance Storm because I used his pic as an avatar at all boards.

On that note, I remembered back in the day before the internet was mostly graphic-based (I know, shocking) I was about 11 or 12, and I had gotten this young housewife to believe my shtick about being 21 years old and a naval officer and fall in love with me... at the time I was kind of obsessed with going into the military, so I knew enough to fake it to any random civilian. I also somehow knew how to pull off acting much older than my age at the time (somehow I think I've lost that ability, which I guess means I've had an early-twenties mentality for quite some time now) and ended up breaking her heart when she found out I was actually a nerdy 12 year old suckering in older women for fun on forums.

 

That was fun.

There wasn't much more to it, really. Funny enough, I googled my name once and it came out to old, old posts of mine from back in those days, especially on MUDs and MOOs, things of that ilk (if you don't know, don't ask). I recall her crying her eyes out and not talking to me the same way ever again. Funny enough, she would have never found out had I decided not to tell her. She's probably in her 30's now, I'd imagine. I should've hooked her up with my brother, who's also now in his 30's and actually was in the military (ex-Marine), but then again he wouldn't be able to pull off being an adult any better than I did at 12, so whatever.

 

I don't remember much of this girl except that she went by the screenname of ToonGirl or something similar to that. She would constantly try to get me to cyber but even at that age, I thought that sort of thing was retarded. She'd also talked about getting married, all kinds of things, when I "came back home" from my deployment on the USS Kittyhawk. She was quite the subject of conversation amongst my middle school friends. But yeah, as with all junior high pranks, I thought it was all eventually a little too mean-spirited and had to end it.
