In Wade Kellers new audio update on pwtorch.com he said TNA has signed a name from the Monday Night War era. He said hes not a huge name but he was a head liner and he will debute on the first primetime episode of Impact.

I hope Sting didn't get Luger in.

Intriguing ”one of the biggest stars in the world” and X Cup related to boot.

So strike Liger cause he’s been on a TNA show before

Mistico? Erm how is he “one of the biggest stars in the world”?

Kobashi? I think he qualifies

Lesner? Well I doubt he’d be put in the X Cup so I’m saying no

So think “big names” and X division type people – Ultimo Dragon? Mutoh?

No I think I will cast my vote for the one, the only – the BIGGEST STAR in the world (not just in wrestling)

LAAAAAAAAA PARKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

*Chair dance*

Shinsuke Nakamura is supposedly the guy. Which is funny, since he isn't one that would really fit into that division, and I doubt New Japan would let him job to anyone in the company.

Isn't Luger still in jail?

If it's Luger, then TNA really has no clue.

They did Tanahashi in January and he didn't fit either. I think the bookers probrably take what NJPW gives them. I'd think Jado and Gedo would be a better fit myself.

Since it says "debut", you can rule out DDP (who burned bridges anyways)...and Shamrock.

What about...Scott Steiner? Buff Bagwell?

It wouldn't be Jericho, since he is actually a "big name" and didn't really headline the MNW years.

Hopefully TNA didn't sign up BPP or Buff.

And overness in the Impact Zone doesn't really equal overness outside of it. Which is why these "house shows" are gonna be good to see who's really connecting with the fans.

According to Dave Meltzer, TNA is working to finalize Team UK for the X Cup this week as Doug Williams, Nigel McGuiness, Jonny Storm and Jody Fleisch.

This team pleases me.

Hoyt Vs. Bentley? My God, why?

You see, TNA is still in this mode where if you have tenure, even if you're not over, you get TV time. It's one of the many things that continue to hurt the quality of PPV's. The feeling of having to get everyone on TV for fear of hurting feelings of guys who have been with the company for a long time.

Yeah, didn't Bentley complain about not getting pushed when he was pissed at Shelley?

Bentley's just HBK without the talent.

Are you guys forgetting that Matt Bentley/Michael Shane has always been popular? Even going back to the Nashville days the guy was over and that was before Shazarian. Hoyt on the other hand is an Orlando creation.

Hoyt-Bentley...I'm sure they won't get more than 5 minutes on a PPV, and neither one is that good. Be thankful they're not wasting a talented worker's time.

I would guess they're getting feuds as a reward for being loyal to TNA, too. Sure, they're not as good as Aries, but if you're running a company, who do you reward: the guy with less talent who does what you ask of him, or the talented guy who doesn't follow through on your request?

Ditto, especially after the horror line-up last time. If all goes well, I could see Doug getting a regular contract...although, doesn't he work for NOAH? Wouldn't that be a problem with New Japan?

Allegedly the guy Keller was talking about is Scott Steiner.

I'm pretty sure Meltzer is talking about Mistico, as he's a top draw in Mexico right now, and hence would be "one of the biggest stars in the world".

Only if you disregard common logic would he be "one of the biggest stars in the world"

one of the biggest stars right now in CMLL? Maybe so, but in the grand scheme of things - that's an overstatement

but maybe that's more wrestling hype than reality, so hey if he's really truely talented then I'd be okay with the "overhype".

Yes Norman Smiley is back. Bring back Rufus. We want Rufus we want Rufus.

These were in the Observer thread in the WWE folder and I thought I'd post them here.

TNA talked with Bruno Sammartino about being a baby facr commish vs Larry Z's heel commish

TNA offered Kanyon a one day contract, he refused to sign it because that one day deal would give TNA rights to his merchandise for the rest of his career

"If everything works out, one of the biggest stars in the world will debut on that PPV (3.12) which will build for him returning for the X World Cup."
