NoCalMike Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 With my buddies over for the ppv today, we were trying to work out how much each would owe for WM, so I looked up Dish Networks ppv page and according to their page. WM 22 is listed as $34.95. Is this an error on their website, or is WWE really only charging that much for the 4 hour show?
The Mandarin Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Oh Lorrrrrd. Looks like the kids aren't getting a Christmas this year.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Speaking of WM..Directv has a 1 penny PPV thing on until 6 am "WM BIG TIME MOMENTS"..I was thinking about ordering it as its only a penny...
spman Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 I think Wrestlemania has a shot. The Smackdown Three Way and the Money in the Bank will obviously be good, but I think even Cena and Triple H could be pretty good if they put their working shoes on. I just wanna see Lashly and Finlay stiff the shit out of each other, and hope they don't get relegated to the pre-show.

NoCalMike Posted March 13, 2006 Author Report Posted March 13, 2006 umm yeah this thread is about the price of WM....not discussion about the matches, but hey who the hell am I to complain...HIJACK AWAY...
Downhome Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 That HHH guy sucks, holdin' guys back and shit.
Scroby Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Wrestlemania's are normally that price or higher. Yeah the card might bite a whole lotta ass but since its a Wrestlemania, WWE jacks the price up.
Black Lushus Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 I can't remember, I think I paid $50 for WM 21...does that sound right?
Perfxion Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 WM14=$35.00 bucks when the rest of the PPVs were $30.00 WM15=$35.00 bucks when the rest of the PPVs were $35.00 WM16=$40.00 bucks for just the PPV, $50bucks for the whole 12 hour pre-game show and WM. WM17 through 21=$50.00 bucks for a 4 hour PPV when the rest of the 3hours were $35.00
MillenniumMan831 Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 The WM21 webcast was $50. I don't know how they can expect to get away w/ making it that much this year as well. For $35, it'd be a last minute decision but for $50, it's an automatic no-go.

It feels bloated, like WM19 was.
MillenniumMan831 Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Definitely. I really don't know exactly what about WrestleMania this year is supposed to draw head and shoulders above any other ppv. So ya got 2 World Title matches and what should be an awkward match between HBK/McMahon. Granted, the show could turn out a lot better than what we're giving it credit for but as far as drawing casual fans that wouldn't ordinarily order a ppv, I don't see many willing to part w/ $50 for this show.

Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 I can't remember, I think I paid $50 for WM 21...does that sound right? I paid $400 for it. Does that sound right? If I went to the SC on the day of the event, I think I could have gotten cheaper seats.

Jericho and Michaels, Angle and Lesnar, Rock and Austin, I'm sure McMahon and Hogan had some appeal to someone. good point...though I was about tired of Austin/Rock at that point, personally...I did like Jericho/HBK and Jericho still remaining heel at the end. Plus, Safeco looked very cool with the multiple screens, open top, etc. I paid $400 for it. Does that sound right? I don't know if I would have paid that much, but I would have loved to have gone to that...very hot crowd that night.

Money well spent if you ask me, but not something I'm willing to do very often.

I often wonder that, every year. I'm usually not genuinely excited about most of the card, but everyone on the internet acts all jacked up "because it's Wrestlemania." The main event might be ok, but they'll probably give us some type of rematch at the PPV next month. Seems like just another WWE pay-per-view to me. Frankly, the only match this year that I'd be really interested in seeing is Benoit vs JBL, because I think they could pull off a really interesting match.
Black Lushus Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 I agree...JBL is better than he gets credit for...Benoit is, well, Benoit...I think their styles will mesh well...if JBL can have good matches with Guerrero, he's sure to have one with Benoit.
razazteca Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 It would be worth the money if Dusty Rhodes is on commentary and if Beniot & Bradshaw brawl into the public restroom. Or if the match has the "Respect Match" stip so Beniot can end the match by saying "I respect the court"
Black Lushus Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 that would be perfect for the Miz! Who can razz and haze him the hardest? Benoit or JBL?
KingPK Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Speaking of WM..Directv has a 1 penny PPV thing on until 6 am "WM BIG TIME MOMENTS"..I was thinking about ordering it as its only a penny... Don't bother. It's just a Confidential piece about WM I, the end of Rock-Hogan, the WM 21 highlight reel and the end of this year's Royal Rumble all put together. There's nothing you won't see if you have the past few WM's on DVD. It's also hosted by Todd Grisham, who deserves a sound and violent beating for the "jokes" he makes.

NoCalMike Posted March 14, 2006 Author Report Posted March 14, 2006 Well I know past WM's have been $50.00 because it was 4 hours, I just kind of brought this up because Dish Network has it listed as being $35.00 on their website, and there is only a few weeks to go meaning they don't hav a bunch of time to change the price.
tominator89 Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Amazing, how after all these years, we're saying ONLY $35 for a wrestling ppv.
Jericholic82 Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 I paid 29.95 for 13 (same price as the other 3 hour shows) 34.95 for 14 when the regs were 29 34.95 for 15 when the regs were 29 didnt order 16 bit it was 34.95 for just the show and 50 for all day long paid 39.95 for 17 when the rest were 29 I think I paid 39.95 for 18 (the month later they switched to 34.95 for the reg shows my friend paid 39.95 for 19 on directv I paid 50 49.95 wm 20 My neighbor paid 49.95 for 21 Im pretty sure its still 49.95 this year on all cable cos i know of
