*Smackdown opens with Rey Mysterio coming out and saying he deserves his title shot at Wrestlemania 22. He calls out Randy Orton, but WWE World champion Kurt Angle comes out instead. Angle says that his beef isn't with Rey but with Orton, and says that nobody can defeat him. Orton comes out and says that they both suck. He says he can defeat them both, but will wait until Wrestlemania to do it. Teddy Long comes out and forces Orton to leave. He announces Angle vs. Rey as the main event tonight.

 

*JBL pinned Daniel Cross, who is a Harley Race trainee.

 

*WWE United States champion Chris Benoit defeated Road Warrior Animal with a crossface.

 

*Paul Birchall defeated Booker T via countout when Boogeyman came out and took Sharmell.

 

*Lashley & Tatanka & Matt Hardy defeated Finlay & MNM. MNM hit the Snapshot on Tatanka but Lashley hit a spear and Matt hit the TOF on Mercury for the pin.

 

*The Mexicools defeated Jamie Noble and Kid Kash.

 

*They did a vignette where Booker T was searching for Sharmell but found nothing but worms.

 

*Booker was looking for Sharmell but every door had worms around it. When he finally found Sharmell, she was in a room on a stool surrounded by tons of worms. Boogeyman appeared and laughed.

They could have bumped up something for their entrance for Mania if they were to appear.

This finish is mind numbingly stupid. It's standard WWE policy to fuck things up, but this takes things to a new level of stupidity.

Really, at this point...Angle has to win the fucking match. Carry it until Batista returns and build up to that mega-match at Summer-Slam. Throw Undertaker pt. 3, the novelty Benoit short program and that should hold things over for Batista's return in June.

 

Mysterio, enough was a stretch as world champion but when he jobs out this much and looks like the ultimate pussy, he really can't be taken seriously. Orton, is Orton.

Logic says no, but logic also says you don't have a WM main eventer tapping out clean on the last TV before the event.

Orton may have taken a token ankle lock at the end, but Rey is the guy who actually tapped. I'm thinking Rey will actually win that match at WM, but man he will have literally zero credibility with a world title.

 

Just wondering but are they even attempting to make any of the 3 SD guys look like a threat for the MITB? I mean on Raw we had a 3 way promo with Flair/Shelton/RVD expressing the desire to win it....on SD the 3 guys are in a pointless 6 man tag.

The good thing would've been, seeing if they were stupid enough to keep up with the "Doin it for Eddie" stuff, when the last weeks of Eddie's life, Batista and Eddie were on screen(and off-screen, according to reports) close buddies.

 

Orton/Benoit would have worked as well. Of course, they choose the worst avenue.

I meant now. I was hoping that in the Orton/Angle/Orton match, I wante Rey to pin Orton get the belt and for Orton to leave the title scene. It looks more than ever that Orton is winning.

Well, I just got back from the show, and it was way better than Raw.

 

The finish to the Mexicools match needs to be seen. Super Crazy hits a top rope C4 on Kash.

 

UT/Henry was the dark ME, I guess. I thought it was actually on the show because Cole and Tazz were still out there. UT won with the chokeslam if anyone cares.

The last thing I want to see is Rey winning the title, pointing to the sky for 20 minutes and 1000 Eddie mentions. And then the obvious title loss in a couple months, and quick shift down the card for eternity.
