cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2006 I never cared much for Thea Andrews on Cold Pizza. She is certainly hotter than Dana Jacobson, but she always had a smarmy quality to her that made her seem insincere. Like she would rather be on another network. Â Cold Pizza, or rather 1st and 10, could rebound if they would settle on a replacement for Woody. Right now it's just various guests on there arguing with Bayless. I will say one thing that is annoying on the show is seemingly every guest has some sort of agenda to promote a product or charity, etc.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted December 19, 2006 Can you blame Thea for not wanting to be on Cold Pizza.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2006 The other day, NFL Network had a half hour special on called "Who is Tony Romo?" Â Will this madness ever end?
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2006 I saw Woody Paige at the Atlanta airport the morning after the SEC Championship game. He was on a plane to Denver instead of New York, and I wondered what was up. Only after I got home did I find out he'd left the show. I would have said something to him as he was leaning against a wall near the gate all by himself, but he looked really grumpy that morning. He's kind of a big guy. I could care less if she didn't enough sports background (I'm sure other guys would agree). I just liked the fact that two hot women were talking about sports in the morning. TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2006 They were complaining today how Brady and TO didn't make the Pro Bowl over Philip Rivers and Donald Driver. Yet if they were selected to the Pro Bowl, ESPN would be saying that they didn't deserve to make it and Rivers and Driver got screwed. You can't have it both ways.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2006 The Phillip Rivers selection was a little puzzling, but (and maybe it's the Packer fan in me) Donald Driver wasn't. Dude's been the consistent target that Favre needed to ward off the retirement rumblings and put up some stellar numbers in the process. Steve Smith's selection is most baffling. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2006 Rivers over Brady is a minor slight at best. Personally, I don't think it's a slight at all. I think Rivers has had a better season than Brady. Whether that's because Rivers actually has guys he can throw to and Brady doesn't is another matter. ESPN's just pissed that their golden boy got overlooked. Wait ... are you complaining about a hypothetical situation? With all the legitimate things to hate ESPN for, why bother making up something to bitch about? Yet if they were selected to the Pro Bowl, ESPN would be saying that they didn't deserve to make it and Rivers and Driver got screwed. You can't have it both ways. Hypothetical or not, you're right. That's the nature of this whole thing. Some people will get snubbed, but then if you switch them out, someone else will get snubbed. No one is ever going to say the most logical thing: it is what it is and everyone there probably deserves to be there. Period. But there's always the debate about who got snubbed. It's rediculous. You can't really do anything unless you have it like baseball where every team must be reprisented and they switch people out every inning or so. And we love that way, don't we? Â EDIT: Gotta love Schlereth. (paraphrasing) "Bret Favre still has the skills to be a great QB, but he's not what he once was." Â So, if he still has the skills, why does he suck? TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2006 I've seen it time and time again when they complain about Pro Bowl/All Star selections. If a name gets picked on a down year, it's because of the fan bias or whatever, and a more deserving but less known guy got screwed (Hypothetically, Griffey Jr over Vernon Wells). When the deserving guy gets in over the marquee name, they whine and say that X big name is more deserving and the all star game is for the fans anyway, so the popular guy should be there regardless. (One of their arguments in favor of Brady and TO yesterday) Â It would be the same if there were an NCAA football playoff system. In a 6 team bracket, they would complain about how #7 got left out. Â Today I saw them doing a fantasy tournament of their own, and the final four were Ohio State, Florida, Michigan, and LSU. How may experts did they need to come to that conclusion? Those are the top 4 teams as it is. At least have somebody go out on a limb.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2006 Why does anyone waste time worrying about the friggin Pro Bowl anyway? It's a worthless game and someone seems to get injured in it every year. razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 Who all sound the same. All they do is try to out yell each other that being said Bayless vs 2 live Stu > Around the Horn. Why does anyone waste time worrying about the friggin Pro Bowl anyway? It's a worthless game and someone seems to get injured in it every year. Or they can go the NBA path of marketing and make it the Pro Bowl Weekend and have all of those QB Challenge games on Friday, Kicker Challenge & Celebrity/Legends Flag Football on Saturday, and the Pro Bowl on Sunday. Anyways I'm going to forget about the game as I ignore all of the all-star games and watch Blue Crush instead.

Fökai 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2006 I mean it's not like the MLB All Star Game that people actually give a shit about. No one cares about the game. The derby and the slam-dunk contest are the feature attractions of their respective weekends. Give us a field-goal challenge or something of the sort on Saturday night and people will care for those two days. I've been at a few Pro Bowl and Hula Bowl games where the "Punt, Pass & Kick Challenge" with teenagers elicited more of a reaction from the crowd than the game itself.
