NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 I wouldn't mind the ending of the RVD/CENA match to have RVD hitting a Van-Daminator or a 5-Star Frog Splash, and go to cover....then the lights go off and when they come back on, someone is there to cost RVD the match, but I mean it better be someone good, and they better make it somewhat of a Suprise. CM Punk? Jerry Lawler? Sabu? It would need to be someone who hates ECW with a passion, that wouldn't be an WWE guy and would be a name. CM Punk would be great because he would follow that up with a killer promo but the fans won't know who he is and the effect is lost. Well that's the tragedy. ECW fans WOULD KNOW CM Punk. WWE-ECW fans probably wouldn't. So it really depends on the crowd. I am willing to be the crowd at ONS would be familiar with Punk, but they would have trouble replicating the same emotion over him once the ECW tapings(before a WWE crowd) began. JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 If C.M. Punk brings the "straight-edge" character into ECW, how long before he makes some type of remark about Eddie Guerrero? That would seem like a connection Vince McMahon couldn't help but exploit.

That would seem like a connection Vince McMahon couldn't help but exploit. Punk was close to Eddie (Eddie credited Punk as a big help to his recovery) and I think Punk is more likely to speak up front to the office then Rey and Benoit ever were. That doesn't mean Punk wouldn't do it. CM Punk hasn't done the sXe gimmick since 2003, he doesn't need it. Unlike alot of talents out there, Punk isn't a one trick gimmick pony. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 So what IS his gimmick nowadays?
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 So what IS his gimmick nowadays? The last year of ROH, he was a super babyface and a mega heel who held the roh title hostage. In OVW, he was a arrogant jerk heel who often got his jollies screwing with other workers with his catchphrase "you got punk'd" and basically claiming to be the best and had a series of great matches. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2006 That's *just* what Punk needs - a re-hash of a feud that the ECW fanbase has probably already seen done, and Paul E booking an anti-ECW "Crusader" program that the fans already shit on last year at One Night Stand. Probably one of the better tag teams from the later days of ECW. They just knew how to put on a good tag team match.

Exactly, I'm not going to applaud a professional wrestler for being able to climb to the top rope or put on a decent wrestling match. That is their job. If that is your definition of a talented wrestler, then most of you guys should stop bitching about guys like JBL and Mark Henry. I tend to find enjoyment in wrestlers that can actually put on good wrestling matches.

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2006 " Out late during the weekends? Still want to stay current with what’s happening on RAW? No problem, we’ve got just the thing for you. WWE A.M. RAW will be moving to a new timeslot, and will be airing at 2 a.m. on Saturday night (Sunday morning). But that’s not the only change. The rating for the show will be changing as well. “Before we had a PG rating,” commented Mark Hamilton, the show’s producer. “But the new show will be TV 14, which is the same as RAW, so we’ll be able to deliver content that we wouldn’t have been able to before.” Whether it’s the gorgeous Divas you’re a fan of or the lengths the Superstars will go to to stay on top, this new time slot will allow the program to keep you abreast of absolutely everything that happens on RAW. With the combination of the new time and the edgier rating, A.M. RAW is the perfect show for WWE fans that are out late on the weekends and still want their fair share of WWE programming. “We’re looking forward to being able to deliver another quality product to a newer and older audience,” said Hamilton. Make sure you’re up to date and in the know every week, tune into A.M. RAW every Saturday at 2 a.m. (Sunday morning) on the USA Network. " Doesn't say anything about ECW, but makes you wonder if they officially got that slot.

Sounds like they might have because I don't think USA would move the program to 2am on a Saturday night for any other reason. But since ECW hasn't started to develop yet in terms of storylines, there is really no point for them to mention ECW taking the slot. The timing of the move and the position of the slot would fit something like ECW.

However, for a show like AM Raw, I see no reason for WWE.com to do a story about it getting a TV 14 rating for "Edgier content" when it's just a recap show unless something more important is happening.
