Starting to watch Blood+. I'm on episode 5 now and I'm enjoying it. I'm not too sure on what to think of the show yet.

It's strange that I'm doing this now after fillers have gone on for so long and are just about to end (presumably), but what groups or sites should I look to for Naruto and Bleach manga?

Depends on how far behind you are.

 

For current Bleach manga chapters, I use Bleach7.com as their group, Manga7, is pretty awesome. Oh, they only provide chapters that haven't been released in the US already(I think we're on volume 14 or 15). Stoptazmo.com has all the chapters available for d/l if you're looking for older ones.

 

For current Naruto, I use Japflap, but you should be able to find pretty much all the chapters for d/l on Narutofan.com or stoptazmo.com.

 

Japflap is the only site I mentioned that you don't need to sign up for to download chapters, so if you're already kinda current with the Naruto manga, give that a shot.

Episode 8 was fantastic. I'm really digging this show. Likeable charactors, mystery, intrigue, suspense, fright and some awesome music for the last episode there.

Not yet, I've been thinking that I'll wait a little bit and have 2 episodes in a row to watch instead of 1. Blood+ can keep me preoccupied in the meantime.

Yes, I say it's worth getting into. Be forewarned though that the series is not all sunshines and rainbows. You are going to feel sad at times.

 

I'm on episode 13 now.

Dreary events with the kids. Some major mark out moments though with Phantom chopping off his own arm to escape, Mui trying to play the piano in the cage and buddy jumping up onto the airplane only to get shot back down again by his own comrades and surive

Can someone give me a quick synopsis of Bleach and Blood+? I've just about exhausted my romantic comedy/braindead animes (I even picked up a copy of Airbats, now THAT'S braindead comedy) and looking for a change of pace.

 

BTW, for you romantics, I just a torrent of Please Teacher. Not bad all in all. Animation was very good, and the secondary characters (esp. sarcastic Ichigo and my personal favorite, Uncle Minoru) are very well done. The series actually takes a very mature look at certain issues (including teenage sex) and shows that they can often lead to problems.

 

However, Mizuho (the aforementioned Teacher) is a bit too whiny and insecure, and Kei develops very slowly for a lead character. He actually baffled me a couple of times because he frequently goes on about "what he wants" then goes completely AGAINST what he obviously wants. Also, the attempted teacher/student/female student love triangle didn't work very well, basically because the female student is annoying and somewhat conniving at times. Finally there are a couple of incidents that kind of stretch the thin line between "coincidence" and "come on man don't insult my intelligence!"

 

BTW, avoid the OAV. It's nothing but a regular episode played for fan service. Plus it's creepy to see a woman and "she doesn't look old enough to be " her mother going after the same 15 year old (although they did try to explain things to make it slightly less creepy).

 

Once I finally download an English dub of Please Twins (3rd time's a charm!) I'll take a look at it and pass along my thoughts should anyone be interested.

I'd give it a chance regardless. If nothing else, try to catch it on Adult Swim if you can and go from there, since it's just starting tonight and it seems you're not opposed to dubs. It's probably easier for one skeptical such as yourself.

 

It's more accurate to liken it to Yu Yu Hakusho than DBZ anyway, which itself is more or less DBZ without all the debilitating faults and traps.

 

For instance, there's no incessant talk of strength levels and powering up nonsense which waste half the story arc or insane, 'unrealistic' and sudden power leaps which OMG threaten to tear the planet apart. There's no planet hopping, no aliens, so everything remains grounded.

 

There's style to spare in every aspect and if not for this, it would be just another action retread. The designs and characters are all unique due to this and are what make the series better than most in the action genre.

One of my favourite shows of all time. I caught a few minutes of the episode where Doc Ock kidnapped Felisha and Parker's boss. Thankfully, I taped the show years ago.

I'm nearing the end of watching every episode of Bleach on YouTube and I'm wondering what I should watch next. Is Blood+ really worth checking out or could you all recomend something else for me to check out?

Almost every single shows leaves you with a cliffhanger ending that's continued in the next ep. You "have to" watch every episode.

The story and stories are drug out throughout the whole series. Except for a comedy episode or two you're only going to shortchange yourself if you just watch a random episode here or there.

They do spend time on charactor development for both shows. I loved the work they did with Ohrime for example in Bleach.

 

Like the last episode of Blood+ I watched almost had the whole show about charactor traits. Saya's different sides of her charactor, her feelings towards discovering/not wanting to revisit her forgotten past and her struggle with herself is actually the main focus of the show. That and Saya's family determination to always remain a unit no matter what. Other stuff is actually secondary though there's plenty of that too.

Kon's dub is so bad. Wretched. Everything else was okay though there was some goofyness in the dialogue.

The dub for bleach wasnt so bad, i admit i marked out when Rukia said zanpaktu or however its spelled. I have to admit Kons voice was attrociously bad but ill wait and give full judgement when he shows up.

For folks who have a Strawberries nearby, at least at the one near me, they have big $2 used DVD bins. I've found the first disc of Super Gals, Aura Battler Dunbine, and Full Metal Panic, and the Nadesico movie in there, plus I saw the Love Hina Spring Movie, but that wasn't good at all as I recall, so I didn't bother. I also found a HK copy of A Better Tomorrow 3 and a DVD of old, old wrestling stuff(had a Lou Thesz match), so it may be worth digging through
