tpww7 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 [email protected] Details are sketchy, but Samoa Joe appeared to suffer a knee injury in a match taped for Xplosion after the TNA Impact tapings ended tonight in Orlando. Joe was throwing a kick to David Young when the knee appeared to go out. We don't know any more details other than he had to be helped out of the ring, and the first reports were from those who were scared it was serious.

tpww7 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 If only TNA wasent wasting Joe in a shitty Xplosion match Yes, I can still find a way to blame TNA somehow. But really, this sucks majorly.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted May 16, 2006 Showing Joe on TV is what they need to do.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 I blame Leena's new friendship with Young on Joe's injury.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted May 16, 2006 Even worse... I put a message on Joe's myspace to please job to David Young. And told David to please squash Joe at least 3 times now. I feel kinda bad now... lolz.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 Wait, when did Joe leave LiveJournal?
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted May 16, 2006 I don't know if he left there. He has his own myspace, though. And viewed me multiple times. But, anyway, let's get back to mourning about Joe.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 The problem is that this isn't a sudden injury. He's been nursing it for the last month and it's why he saw very little action over the ROH shows this past weekend because he knew the tag match in TNA was important. So he ends up fucking it up in a meaningless squash on xplosion.
Astro101 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 It's funny that Matt Bentley has a couple of porn stars on his Top 8. And damn, his finacee is pretty hot.

TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 Here's an update from Mike Johnson: Following an MRI last night, TNA X-Division champion Samoa Joe was diagnosed with a strained MCL and a tear of his PCL. He is not expected to miss any major bookings due to the tear, although he is going to need to rest the knee. The knee had been nagging Joe since injuring it several weeks back while wrestling for Ring of Honor in Cleveland, Ohio. Joe was taken to the hospital by TNA officials last night after his knee locked up while delivering a kick to David Young during a match taped for TNA Xplosion
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 Here is Meltzer's update on Joe... This is the only update we've been able to get on Samoa Joe from TNA. He was taken to the hospital last night. It appears he has a torn MCL and PCL, and basically tore every knee ligament except the ACL. He will be getting an MRI later in the week to check for a complete scoope of damage. At that time we'll have a better estimate on how long he's out, but he's not expected back right away.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 He should give this injury all of the time it needs to heal, although Joe seems like the type of person that would push it and return at the earliest possible moment. He just needs to keep one name in mind when it comes to nursing nagging injuries, Kurt Angle.
FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 Oh, Jesus Fuckin' Christ. I hope Joe does take proper time to heal. And TNA better keep him on screen every week, still. If anything, it'll give him a chance to flesh out his character a little more. Not that he needs it, dude is awesome as is, but I'm looking for a positive here. Ah, fuck, he'll be back in the ring in like 2 or 3 weeks, and a few years down the road, it'll come back to haunt him.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted May 16, 2006 The usual timetable for non-ACL tears is usually less than a month in other sports. Slammiversary is 33 days away. He may well be fine, by then, if the tears aren't too serious.

If anything, it'll give him a chance to flesh out his character a little more. Since I've been drawing a lot of comparisons between Joe and Steve Austin's original lonewolf babyface gimmick, I'll draw another parallel here. Austin didn't wrestle a single match between August and November of 1997 (the Owen piledriver) and probably did more to get over in that timespan than he did in the previous year. Hopefully, if Joe has to miss any ringtime, his face will still be all over Impact.

Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 It's pro wrestling. The most fit person in the business is prone to fuck their knees up. Rey Mysterio is one of the lightest guys in the business and his knees are toast and have been for years. In this business, you never know how an injury will befall you. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 TBS is one of the fattest guys in the business and I can't recall any serious lower body injuries. RVD and Jack Evans are probably the most limber and flexible performers in the business and they have had a share of injuries. RVD had two serious injuries that cost him 18 months of his career. Jack Evans was so injured that promotions refused to book him for 3 months because of that.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted May 16, 2006 It certainly wouldn't hurt if Joe was in slightly better condition, though...
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 You do realize Orton has more career injuries then Joe has right? Maybe Orton boy needs need to lay off the bronzer and work on his flexibility.
