Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Is it a buyer's market? Should I wait for things to fluctuate? These are terms I picked up here and there. Am I using them correctly?
Guest StylesMark Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Is it a buyer's market? Should I wait for things to fluctuate? These are terms I picked up here and there. Am I using them correctly? Yes...you are using these terms correctly. But, it's a seller's market right now.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Oliver Stone's World Trade Center is looking to be comedy of the year. Judging from the trailer, you know. edit: http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/wtc/

Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 I was watching some amateur porn, recently. Like, genuine amateur porn. Poorly framed, shakey cameras, etc. This one dude was having obvious trouble maintaining an erection. I cringed in sympathy. Porn, now, would be ideal. Except it's too hot to jerk off. Guest StylesMark Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Too sticky to jerk it. No fans?
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 The weather was just as awful up here today in the absolute reverse way: 9 degrees with some badass wind behind it. Seasonal high around here is about 18 or so.

FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 My apartment I have in Pittsburgh had a shitty AC system, but an awesome Furnace. Even with the Window open, with a box fan in it, and 5 rotating fans all going, it was still miserable in there as long as the sun was up. I feel your pain, brother. Just notify you landlord, and find out if it's just your or if it's the entire building. If it's just yours, it should be fixed real soon, if not, the whole building will take forever. Good luck, and don't sit on any leather/pleather furniture.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 It appears England's summer came and went about a week ago. It's likely been abolished altogether.

Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2006 First floor. An update: the AC isn't getting fixed until tomorrow. Tonight, in these sweaty confines, I watched A History of Violence. I enjoyed it, especially because I only knew very little about the film beforehand... SPOILER because, when Tom Stall revealed he really was Joey Cusack, I was pleasantly surprised. I was thinking the film might go in that direction prior to the scene, but I wasn't sure. I would've been more sure had I bothered reading anything about the film before watching it, as, after watching the movie, every review I read blabbed the twist. END SPOILER Good on William Hurt, by the way. He fucking owned the one scene he was in. The Oscar nod was deserved.
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2006 of the 4 people I know who watched it (not counting Inc) all said the movie was an absolute snooze-fest.

Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2006 My AC works now. Movie watched in celebration: Oldboy. Good, if a little goofy.
Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2006 Yeah Oldboy doesn't hold up as well as, say, Sympathy for Mr. Vengance.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 Unrelated, but coincidentally another PT Anderson/music question. Is "Save Me" supposed to practically drown out John C.'s last lines to Claudia in Magnolia? It pissed me off having to look on imdb to see what made her finally smile. Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 It didn't matter what he said; that she was happy—genuinely, truly happy—for him saying it is what's important. Just like what Bill Murray whispered into Scarlett Johansson's ear at the end of Lost in Translation was irrelevant. That moment they shared transcended words. Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 Good point. I did manage to find it and what he says is really good, but yeah, I like that explanation better.

Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Report post Posted May 25, 2006 Adaptation is pretty good.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 Capote is a really great film, and not just for Hoffman's performance as I've heard from some people. And The Squid and the Whale is depressing but short enough to keep it very engaging. Just like Wes Anderson's stuff, it's categorized as a "comedy" because it's "offbeat," when really, there aren't exactly any laugh-out-loud moments.
