ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 From what little I know about X-Men... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar_Man Seems like the possibly worst of the bunch.
Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 The worst X-Men? That has to be Wolverine. Just kidding people! Wasn't there an X-Man named Sammy the fishboy? I seem to slightly remember the name, so if he is around then he is the biggest Mort.
FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2006 Why does Morph get two black eyes because he turned into a bad guy? Because he was pretty much a zombie when that personality kicked in, due to him 'dieing'. Dazzler can't shoot lasers, whoever said that. She turns sound into light. She sucks. Jubilee sucks. Gambit sucks other then maybe 2 stories, and on the 'Toon. Most of the worst characters have been mentioned already.

I seem to slightly remember the name, so if he is around then he is the biggest Mort. Yep. Introduced by Chuck Austen, Sammy was Juggernaut's sidekick until Black Tom Cassidy murdered him in a fit of jealous rage that Juggernaut had picked up a kid sidekick who was further pushing Juggernaut to the side of the angels. That said, Sammy is considered by many X-Men fans to be the only good thing Chuck Austen contributed to the X-Men franchise. So that says something about the character..... FroGG_NeaL wrote: Dazzler can't shoot lasers, whoever said that. She turns sound into light. She sucks. Have you actually READ any of the issues that had Dazzler as an X-Man? Dazzler can turn sound into light, which she can focus into laser beams out of her eyes or fists. Of course, she doens't do that often because it takes all of her energy to convert the light into laser quality lasers.....

SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 This thread needs a better definition of what constitutes an "X-Men character". I figured it was limited to actual X-Men, some are saying supporting characters, while some of you are including anyone who has ever been on a mutant team, and others are saying any mutant who has ever appeared in a mutant-themed Marvel comic. daileyxplanet 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 Why does Morph get two black eyes because he turned into a bad guy? Mister Sinister recreated him, plus it's probably to help youngin's realize he's evil. Sounds reasonable for me.

Special K 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2006 Probably every X-Statix character outside of Dead Girl and U-Go Girl INCORRECT Mr. Sensitive is the SHIT. Anarchist is pretty cool too. Sure, they have some silly powers, but they're supposed to be silly. And how can you hate Doop?
World's Worst Man 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2006 Ok, Mr. Sensitive was pretty neat too. I just did not enjoy the spirit of what that series was about.

And in case JasonX didn't make it clear: LASER: Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation So, yeah, she can shoot lasers. Guido's power is kinda lame and generic, but seeing as he's essentially a comedy character, I can't call him "worst" M is a pretty horrible character. You'd think that with the way they write her, her power is to be a snob. My vote is a tie between Maggott and Stacy X. But at least Frank Tieri gave Maggott a meaningful death. Getting rid of Stacy X was another good thing that Chuck Austen did with his run.
ZGangsta 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 Can I toss some votes for Cable and Bishop here. I know they're popular and all, and interesting things may have been done with them in the past (Cable/Deadpool is amazing for example), but I just think that they don't fit at all with the X-Men due to the emphasis on guns.
Special K 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 Yeah, I really don't like Cable. I'll freely admit half of it is to his ridiculous Rob Liefield look. But he has the most morose, uninteresting personality. Deadpool may be a ripoff, but he had some great comedic issues. Bishop? Don't know enough to judge. Most of what I know about him is from the animated series. Lasers or not, Dazzler's roller-skating ass is lame. She was pretty cool in Ultimate, though. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 Bishop almost killed Magneto until Colussus turned on the X-Men and took him out...probably one of the most powerful issues of X-Men I've ever read.
World's Worst Man 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 I'm disappointed at the way Cable gets treated. For a guy who's supposed to be the most powerful being on Earth, he sure gets screwed around by people who shouldn't be a threat to him (Weapon X program for instance). The Cable/Deadpool stuff was pretty good though, because finally Cable was being treated as the uber-powerful person he was supposed to be. The crew that started the "riot at Xavier's" was pretty lame. I don't know if they ever re-surfaced after that, since I'm not up to date on the comics yet. The Cable/Deadpool stuff was pretty good though, because finally Cable was being treated as the uber-powerful person he was supposed to be. Yeah, but if Cable's supposed to be so all powerful, why is he carrying around all these guns all the time? Him and Bishop just reek of that 90s of attitude of 'dozens of guns on every superhero.' Once again, I agree that Cable/Deadpool handled him correctly. One of my favorite moments in that series was when him and Deadpool are scraping and deadpool shoots Cable into this weapons armory and Cable pops out holding this gigantic fucking chain gun that says (in huge letters on the side) "Liefeld XS." Man Cable/Deadpool is awesome.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 I've never liked Bishop too much. I didn't see the point in having two time traveling mutants (Cable being the other one). Also, I remember there being a ton of hype about Bishop's debut, because he was the first "new" X-Men member in quite a while (or so it seemed like). Maverick kind of falls under the same category, now that I think about it. I'm kind of tempted to mention Rogue, just because she was so annoying with how she couldn't touch anybody, but was always being a cock tease with Gambit. starvenger 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2006 Bishop? Don't know enough to judge. Most of what I know about him is from the animated series. Bishop has energy absorption/expulsion powers which started out as using the same power that he got hit with, but latter got changed to the more generic "energy battery" power that he has now. He was probably most interesting during the District X series. I'm disappointed at the way Cable gets treated. For a guy who's supposed to be the most powerful being on Earth, he sure gets screwed around by people who shouldn't be a threat to him (Weapon X program for instance). No, that's Franklin Richards. Although Cable is definitely Omega level though. The whole idea was that his powers are the only thing keeping the techno-organic virus in his body from taking him over, although I think that's no longer true. Yeah, but if Cable's supposed to be so all powerful, why is he carrying around all these guns all the time? Him and Bishop just reek of that 90s of attitude of 'dozens of guns on every superhero.' My guess? It's more satisfying to shoot Deadpool than it is to telekinetically slap him around. Besides which, Cable already knows that breaking his jaw won't stop Deadpool from talking. The whole idea was that his powers are the only thing keeping the techno-organic virus in his body from taking him over, although I think that's no longer true. He got rid of the T.O. virus, which led to him gaining full use of his power and then it was hinted that he was the most powerful person on Earth. Although later they claimed the virus came back, but there was some weak explanation that he didn't have to use so much of his power to control it this time, and was still uber-powerful. This was during the Cable/Deadpool stuff. Either way, you could probably assume he was just as powerful as Nate Grey, and probably more so due to his experience and training. SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 Essential X-Men. It's your friend. Dazzler is not. She was a disco queen on roller-skates. She was really embarassing. Yeah...Marvel kind of dropped the ball by introducing a disco-themed charactered at a time when disco record were being publicly burned and baseball stadiums were hosting "Disco Demolition" nights. Still, while Dazzler is basically the Marvel trying to jump on a bandwagon after the wagon has come to a stop, Marrow is a far shittier character. Combine the "tough kid from the wrong side of the tracks" cliche with your usual Morlock angst, and you've stumbled upon the most annoying character to ever grace an X-Men roster. She was basically a proto-type for the also shitty X-23, and was universally hated by fans.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 starvenger, I think Bishop always had the "energy battery" power...I don't think he ever mimmicked whatever he was hit with.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 Maybe. I remember something about it during his first appearances, although he still shot whatever it was from his hands.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 yeah I think he took whatever it was that hit him and transferred it into his own energy blasts be it a lightning strike from Storm, an optic blast from Cyclops, a kinetic charged card from Gambit, etc. I'll admit, I liked Bishop from the standpoint that he was a black character. It was pretty cool to see him as a major player in The Age Of Apocalypse storyline.

Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 I did find the mullet to be a tad strange...but it's not unheard of on black men. Is he bald these days? The last time I read an issue featuring him, he was dicking around with the Shi'ar, lost in some portal with Deathbird or whatever her name was. He was sporting the brush cut fade.
