Damaramu 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2006 As a Cincy fan I love it. I love it. Die Ben die. How's that chant coming now Cowher, you stupid fuck. Take the whole team with you straight to hell. Dude, you're sad. Cincy had their chance. They blew it. Get over it. Get well, Ben. Actually, the Steelers injured Carson, that's the only reason they won, then Cowher mocked the Bengals at the post season parade. And I'm saddened to hear that Ben's injuries aren't more serious. Oh, I feel so fucking bad for him. Maybe I'll send the stupid fuck a get well card. In case you haven't noticed injuries happen in football. You can't be pissed at one team for injuring another player. It's part of the game. This had nothing to do with football. Oh and big deal that they mocked the Bengals. The douche bag Palmer repeatedly mocks Notre Dame for being a rival of USC but I don't see you calling for his head for being a jerk about that.

Look, I'm NO Steelers fan. But if they managed to get to and win a SB, without Ben in many games, playing all playoff games on the road, then Palmer going down is NO excuse. Choke. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2006 Even with Omar Jacobs at the helm, the Steelers would beat the Ravens Seeing as though the Ravens beat the Steelers last year when they had current backup Tony Banks starting... They better sign someone just in case Roethisberger cant play..with Tony Banks at QB the Steelers are staring down a 2-14 season.

Oh, I feel so fucking bad for him. Maybe I'll send the stupid fuck a get well card. Injuries happen. Too bad Cincinnati had 55 more minutes to cover for Carson's injury, it just so happened the team was running around like chickens with its head cut off. They just weren't ready to handle the pressure of the post-season. It's a team of young players, it was to be expected. Kitna and Marvin weren't prepared and that was the job of the head coach and the back-up QB. Marvin showed his complete inexpierence and Kitna showed his utter lack of on field leadership capabilities. No one stepped up and that's why Pittsburgh got the win. NE lost Brady during the game and guess what?!!? THEY STILL WON AGAINST PITTSBURGH! Why? They were prepared and emotionally mature enough to bounce back. Rivals will mock each other's signatures, thats why bragging rights exist. That still doesn't excuse your moronic reaction of treating what is ultimately just a game to react this poorly to this whole situation. Way to make the Bengal fanbase, which is already a national joke to begin with look even dumber. No wonder it's filled with criminals because it's catering to fans like you who make the whole fanbase look like Oakland rejects. Why the hate for Ben? He didn't cause the injury anyways. No one hates Ben here aside from the typical "He plays for our rival" heat, he's still adored for his Miami days.

Wow, that is very sad. And I thought some Bengals fans were pathetic because they continued to blame Palmer's injury as a reason they didn't advance in the playoffs and not because they, you know, imploded. But you brought it to a whole new level. That kind of jelousy is scary.

Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2006 From what I've heard, the "serious" knee injuries are just road rash. He got scraped up real good, doesn't have any teeth left, and broke his nose and jaw. He'll probably be on a liquid diet for the next seven weeks or something, and that could affect his conditioning, but sorry Bengals fans, he's still gonna be back before Carson
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2006 Also, how fast the bike was is irrelevant. The speed limit in the area he crashed was 25, and by all accounts, he was going the speed limit. Even if you hit someone going 25 mph, it's gonna sting a little. Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2006 http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06163/697655-100.stm PPG article on it, which was updated after the Trib one that ESPN.com and a few others have referenced re: knee injuries, doesn't mention anything about it. John Clayton and Adam Schefter of the NFL Network have also reported that the knee injuries are nothing serious. I'd imagine he has a concussion as well, but hell, he's got 12 weeks until the season starts. No big deal for him. Three posts in a row? Hmm.
Guest StylesMark Report post Posted June 12, 2006 Ok, where is all this "lost all his teeth" stuff coming from? I've seen nothing on this. Also, why would anyone think that his bike wouldn't be "fast"? The guy's a millionaire. He's not sporting an 92 Kawasaki.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2006 There are differing reports on it. I think the Trib (might've been the PG, I'm getting my articles mixed up and I don't feel like checking which one said it) reported that he lost "most" of his teeth, the other reported he had multiple chipped teeth. I'm going based on a report from a friend of a friend (obviously the most reliable source, haha) who is an ER doctor at Mercy in PA, who said that the surgery is mostly reconstructive since he had few or no teeth left and they had to wire his jaw, do extensive dental work, and close the lacerations. May or may not be true, but I trust the source considering the near corroboration from the media.

Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2006 Confirmation that the knees are minor from ESPN.com: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2480830 PITTSBURGH -- Steelers star Ben Roethlisberger, the youngest quarterback to lead a team to the Super Bowl championship, broke his jaw and nose in a motorcycle crash Monday in which he was not wearing a helmet. ... ESPN.com's John Clayton has confirmed that Roethlisberger also suffered a 9-inch laceration to the back of his head, has lost or chipped a number of teeth and has minor injuries to his knees from hitting the pavement. A plastic surgeon has been called in.

Special K 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2006 No one seems to remember that with Kitna, the Bengals still went up something like 14-3 before they imploded. And yeah, losing one of the top 3 QBs in football, and the most important member of your team (who burned the Steelers for 60 yds in his only play) might have a little something to do with losing the game. And no, I don't think they injured him purposefully. You think the Steelers would have had that magical postseason run with Mr. XFL under center? You're out of your fucking mind. The only reason they were ranked sixth is beause they had Maddox start a few games, and he likes throwing to CBs better than WRs. And Dama, I know you loathe USC and Palmer and blah blah blah, but he was nothing but a class act after that game, even if some Cincy fans weren't. Oh, yeah, Palmer's such a douche for hating Notre Dame. You must be a douche for hating USC then. That said it's terrible and fucking pathetic to be happy over this injury. Roethlisberger seems like a decent guy. I hope Big Ben and Palmer are both completely healed by the start of the season. Their teams have a great divisional rivalry, and, hey, I like watching good, exciting, football. That's just me though. I must be a shitty fan because I enjoy football even when the Seahawks and the Bengals suck. And it's written in stone that I have to hate every one on the Steelers with a passion because they beat my team in the SB. Too bad. Hines Ward is awesome. Jerome Bettis is awesome. And their head coach is fantastic.

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2006 At least 'Zo directly did something to his "team". All Ben ever did was play on the OTHER side of the ball (that had nothing to do with Carson's injury) against the team that beat Cincy. Not to mention was and still is, a superstar in the area. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2006 And Dama, I know you loathe USC and Palmer and blah blah blah, but he was nothing but a class act after that game, even if some Cincy fans weren't. Oh, yeah, Palmer's such a douche for hating Notre Dame. You must be a douche for hating USC then. Then you're a douche for hating any team you happen to dislike if that's the case. I don't think Palmer's a douche for hating on his college rival. I dislike him for many other reasons, his attitude I've seen being one of them. He's just appears to be that guy that thinks his shit doesn't stink and has a massive ego to boot. I was pointing out that if Cowher's a bad guy for mocking his rival and taking joy in their defeat then so is Palmer for constantly taking joy in the defeat of Notre Dame. It's a double edged sword. If Cowher's a bad guy for mocking the Bengals then so is every pro athlete, coach, etc. that takes joy in putting their rival down!
