Gary Floyd Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Tonight, the new season of The Venture Brothers premires at 10:30. That's all.
2GOLD Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Bout god dang time. I'm wondering what exactly they are going to do. Are Dean and Hank (right? I always forget his name) coming back or are they really dead and buried? It should be awesome, because Patrick Warburton is hilarious.
randomguy Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Well, I'm somewhat dissapointed that they just used this episode to re-establish the status quo. I was hoping Dean and Hank were gone for good. Oh well.
AndrewTS Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 OMG that was just an amazing, surreal, hilarious episode. Well worth the wait. "You have accident-prone boys? You put helmets on them. If you have death prone boys, you keep a few spare clones around."
Gary Floyd Posted June 26, 2006 Author Report Posted June 26, 2006 That was a great season premier. Loved the "Many Deaths of the Venture Bros." montage. Also, Brendon Small did several voices here.
AndrewTS Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 I personally expected the "Jonas Jr and Rusty become the new VBs" theory myself. The clone stuff had to at least be implemented, though. They dropped so many hints throughout the 1st season it was obvious. There's about a dozen possible great episodes set up. However, there was so much being set up you never really got anything too well explained. Hopefully White Noise doesn't return. The writers are better than that. I saw the boys and totally thought Hellraiser, though. "Gas leak...the silent killer." Hopefully they don't play this a hundred times so I get sick of it, like the Trial of the Monarch.
EricMM Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 It was a fine episode of course. I don't know if anyone else caught the septopus reference or not, but I did. Loved the Vince Neal, King Gorilla comment, "He was looking for the surreal life, and KG always delivers!" I don't really mind the status quo, this is one of the only AS shows with any sense of continuity, such as it is..
Big McLargeHuge Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 What did the Monarch come across at the end of the show? I couldn't really make it out.
AndrewTS Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 What did the Monarch come across at the end of the show? I couldn't really make it out. Rusty's missing right side.
Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 There was no new episode last night...and there isn't one for another two weeks, on August 6th.
AndrewTS Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 That's okay. Replaying the first ep worked for me. As long as there are more eps coming...
AndrewTS Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Thanks to the annoying delay and the pushed back eps, there wasn't much discussion here... However, if you missed last weeks ep (Viva Los Muertos, written by Ben Edlund), try to find it to download/torrent--it's really awesome. It's a very dark, twisted, messed-up and hilarious episode featuring a parody of the Scooby Doo gang modeled off famous criminals (Ted Bundy, Patty Hearst, Valerie Solanis and the Son of Sam--and yes, the Scooby parody talks to the tortured "Sammy", wanting him to do the "master's bidding"). Plus, Dr. Venture playing God a little, and Brock actually struggling with guilt over killing. Orpheus brings his usual slice of ham to the table as well. Really different from how the season first started... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BY4JY1FrIyY Tomorrow is part 1 of the 2-part season finale.
FroGG_NeaL Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 This is one of my favorite shows. This season has been as good as, if not better than, the first.
AndrewTS Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 Youtube has the ep, btw. Just search for venture + muertos and you got it. I'm really happy to hear the show has been getting really good ratings, too. Doctor Venture's to-do list: * Beat God at his own game * Get money * Increase my word power * Pushups! * Make everything [...] my way
Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 After the season finale on October 15th, new episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force Season 4 replace it.
AlwaysPissedOff Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 God, the last episode was greatness. Making fun of the Scooby Gang, Dr. Venture re-animating one of the Monarch's henchmen(with Brock's reaction being classic), and the boys seeing their clones for the first time and Venture's quick cover-up had me in stitches. Hopefully the good ratings mean there'll be a 3rd season.
Gary Floyd Posted October 8, 2006 Author Report Posted October 8, 2006 I've said it before, but this show the best thing on Adult Swim.
AndrewTS Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 Almost as good was I Know Why the Caged Bird Kills. A woman who claims to be Hank/Dean's mother kidnaps the boys. There's some hilarious interaction of HELPER with Brock, Orpheus with Dr. Venture (always great stuff there), the way Brock defused the situation, and Brock/Doc's botched cover-up attempt. "...ok, so I ****ed her!! What of it?!" Plus, just like in Assassinanny 911, we see Doc has a thing for dangerous women.
AndrewTS Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 Ep's on now--no real intro at all... "You couldn't have done this...I don't know...*ANY TIME* in the past ten years?!?" (After the henchmen captured Brock, Doc, Hank, and Dean) Brock: "You're next to Sargeant Hatred and Guest." (Hank winces) Dr. Venture: "I can't remember a day of my life that you didn't **** up." Pt. 2 next week.
Gary Floyd Posted October 9, 2006 Author Report Posted October 9, 2006 Monarch: "Total dick move!" Hank and Dean hanging out with the Henchmen was great. Oh, and Brock's obssession with Led Zeppelin is the best running gag on a show in a while.
Spaceman Spiff Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 Nien Nunb! Reanimated from a trading card! "You do know I'm talking to you on the intercom, not in your mind, right?"
EricMM Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 This ep wasn't as good as the previous one, but it is always keenly interesting to see just how awful the Venture Bros can get. Because thats what its all about, after all, the failure of the past.
Coffin Surfer Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 Great episode. Bowie showing up with Iggy Pop and Lou Reed as henchmen was an especially nice touch.
AndrewTS Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 I loved seeing Killinger as the Justice of the Peace--although I can't help but think he'll be some sort of deus ex machina.
Gary Floyd Posted October 16, 2006 Author Report Posted October 16, 2006 Now, that's how you do a season finale. "You are all now Murderflies!"
chirs3 Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 That certainly made up for last week's awful setup. Excellent way to end the season.
AndrewTS Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 The minions discovering the wings actually work was great. "Why does nobody tell me these things!" I have to wonder if they're going to go for the extremely obvious for Dr. GF's big secret, or something a bit weirder.
Spaceman Spiff Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 I'm guessing it's going to be something other than "I used to be a man." Too obvious. I loved Nien Nunb figuring out how to fly the jet. Also caught another Star Wars reference when Hank's lucky shot connected ("Great shot kid, that was 1 in a million!").
EricMM Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 I'm gonna guess that she is in love with Dr. Venture or something like that. Something to continue the fued.
chirs3 Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 I'm guessing she's pregnant. And it won't be the Monarch's.
