iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2006 I agree that the best finish would be for RVD to just retain. I'm just saying that failing that, they need to protect him better than "ooh, Edge interfered". If his whole (two-week) reign was predicated on the idea that it didn't matter that Edge interfered, then they can't have that just be his justification for losing to the same man he beat due to Edge's help in the first place. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2006 The only other way I can see RVD losing and it being ok, is if someone from ECW actually interfered costing him the match, to set up an actual new FEUD IN ECW, since they are in desperate need to set up their own feueds and not just be stuck with their top guys vs. WWE top guys. Maybe Sabu can interfere costing RVD the match, and his justification is that he wants to get the REAL BELT from RVD which to him is the ECW belt, and until RVD is done messing around in WWE, he will not have the oppurtunity to wrestle for the ECW belt. Of course, all this needs to be communicate somehow to the fans since Sabu doesn't talk *cough*BILL ALPHONSO*cough* I mean seriously, I dunno if it just me, but I have had all I can take of the "entire ECW roster" huddled together chanting "E-C-W" It makes them look more like a stable, then a roster. No guesses as to whether the WWE Title match will be in the main event slot. Well one of the matches will be at the top of the 2nd hour, while the other closes the show. I'd say odds are 50/50. MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2006 --Does Vince care? Let's face it, Vince has no sold RVD even having the belt. There hasn't been one mention of Vince being upset that RVD is now the champ, no effort to screw him in any way. I agree 100%, Vince thus far doesn't even fucking care that RVD has the belt and is an "ECW" guy. I mean besides the 10 seconds he spent "addressing the state of WWE" He hasn't even acknowledged the title situation. He SHOULD, but he is all wrapped up in the stupid DX bullshit to have time I guess. So why would the WWE Ref even try to screw over RVD......to appease Jerry Lawler!?! I still say that if they want to continue the ECW/WWE cross promotion, then RVD needs to retain the belt. I mean I am sorry but does anyone else think a BIGGER DEAL should be made out of the fact that RVD is holding the WWE Belt AND the ECW Belt? Shouldn't that be a bigger damn storyline then "Look I am mooning guys, ahahahahahahahaha, wow naked male ass hahahahahaha" I can see RVD losing the WWE belt tonight, but it better not be clean. In kayfabe, why would Vince care if RVD is champ or not? He's the one that brought ECW back. Even in kayfabe, McMahon would like to see ECW go toe-to-toe w/ Raw. More conflicts between ECW and Raw guys mean more money for him . . . again, in kayfabe.

WWE false advertises a lot, especially nowadays to protect "suprises" They've been hyping Edge vs. Cena for the WWE title at live events for months now and never bothered to change it after RVD won the title. They were still running Edge vs. Cena for the title ads for the last weeks Raw up to the day of show here in Rochester. I really doubt it means anything, WWE's just lazy. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 Has anyone else noticed that, despite still having really corny, unoriginal "disses" and mic skills, John Cena has become a consistent main eventer, being game for really good matches and looking like a credible champion? It is because of this that I hope John Cena kicks the shit out of Van Dam tonight and wins back the title. I'm a Cena workrate mark. No one expected HHH/Cena to be good at Mania, yet Cena not only delivered a good match (which HHH shined in), he had his finish put over, and really got "made" into a top player. At Backlash, the 3 wrestlers had an awesome bout, and despite "Cena is definately losing", he won again, cleanly. On Raw, Cena squashed the shit out of Masters, someone it took him 12-15 minutes to beat last Fall. At One Night Stand, Cena did the best with who he had to work with, and delivered a memorable PPV appearence to a shitty crowd and opponent. Haven't seen Vengeance. But in kayfabe mode...he made fucking SABU **submit**. ________ Cena's been rock solid in the ring, IMO, ever since his program with Edge the day after New Year's Revolution. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 The one thing about Cena that I've truly been into in the last few months was how he walked down to the ring at the ECW PPV. Dude looked hard for once.

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 The last two times I was 100% sure that the champ was dropping the title on Raw were: World Champ Triple H being forced to "wrestle in a battle royal" with the title on the line. World Champ Goldberg Vs. Triple H, late 2003 First one never happened. Second one had a dissapointing result, although Trips got it weeks later. _________ It's all over for Cena tonight, though. I don't know about that, normally when I watch a Cena match, Cena is normally getting beaten on in the ring then all of a sudden he has someone set up for the FU. I have noticed this ever since his match at Wrestlemania 21 against JBL. Doesn't happen all the time but a good amount of time.

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 Scroby, I agree, that WAS Cena's MO up 'til '06. Vs. Masters and Vs. RVD, Cena dominated most of the bout. Vs. Edge and HHH, he got in a decent amount of offense. Vs. HHH, it was closer than I expected. Here we go.
