jester 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 Could the WWE at least try not to blatantly copy pop culture? Its obvious they are copying Paris Hilton (which most people hate), by constantly having Torrie come to the ring with her dogs. If your gonna copy someone, at least copy someone that isnt hated like Paris Hilton. ---- Actually, a Paris Hilton-like heel would be awesome and would have massive heat with a WWE crowd. Why did 95% of House of Wax's audience go to see that flick? To see her get offed. But this would require the writers to come up with a personality for one of the Divas, which is beyond them and Vince thinks it's unnecessary anyway. Just recycle the "I hate you because you posed for Playboy" angle for the 1000th time.

dh86 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 Actually, it is ONE title represented by two titles. There would be no ECW Title without the WWE Title. Heyman needed RVD to win to have the right to re-christen a title as a "World" title. Van Dam is the ECW World Champion. ECW doesn't recognize the WWE Title. But Van Dam likes it, because "it spins", and for some reason keeps giving the WWE a chance to win the thing back. it is two titles...just like the WWE title and the World title are two different titles..RVD defended the ECW title at the house show against Angle and the WWE title against Edge and then Cena
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted June 27, 2006 It's sad that I want HHH to squash RVD and get the title back... Yes it is rather sad. What about what you have seen from RVD as champ do you hate so much that you would want Triple H to have the title back? Has RVD not been involved in good matches since ONS? The consensus around here seems to think so, I would like to hear what you actually have a problem with, rather then these one-line zingers you keep throwing at RVD, or is this just Leena "The Heel" at work? It's not so much about RVD. While I'm not the biggest fan of his workrate, and even less of his charisma and speaking skills... He feels entirely like the 3rd wheel in this title feud. He only has the title because of "ECW", which has been nothing but a failure, IMO. Plus, I'd much rather see ol' HHH who bitched about the title 24/7/365 than this horrible, midlife crisis, DX rehash. Bare butts and midgets are hilarious~! notJames 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 I defy anyone to say they were actually entertained by the DX segment. Talk about drowning in flop sweat. Those two were dying out there, and rightly so. The only laughs they got out of me were of the schadenfreude variety. Unfunny, unentertaining… how apropos that the skit ended in a monsoon of shit. Crap in, crap out. I can't wait until the Championship becomes the focus of the show again. Unfortunately, it would probably take you-know-whhho in the title hunt to make it so. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 If RVD feels like a 3rd wheel here it's mainly because most people are expecting him to lose the WWE title so he can go to ECW full time. It comes off really strange that Vince doesn't seem to care about any of the title stuff. What is more important: Michaels and HHH having a midlife crisis and doing silly shit or a guy from (in theory) another promotion with his world title? Trish's heel run was kinda similar to that where she thought she was the best and alienated most of the locker room Hell since the real Paris loves publiciuty hire her to come in and do an angle (though it would cost a lot, thye could train her to take a few bumps and have her get beat up by Mickie James or something) actually Have Mickie become obssesed with female celebs on a regula rbasis and she could come out dressed as them. now I sound like a true WWE booker. That makes a lot of sense , I personally feel that RVD has done a great job as a WWE champ just like Edge did back in january. Rob's workrate is very entertaining even though is not the typical WWE style workrate, and he's still very popular with a lot of the fans out there (the ECW fans or the pro-WWE fans that want to cheer him but they don't since he's an "ECW" guy). goldengreek 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 The entire problem with this 3-way and a fair way to decide who will end up with the title is that character -Vince has said nothing about the situation since ONS, and dosent seem to give a shit. I dont think a ref screw job, or a double pin, or Rvd throwing the title in the garbage is gonna happen because the owner of the company doesnt seem to care that a "ECW" guy has the tile. Well you are right, not only does RVD feel like the 3rd wheel, but the entire WWE TITLE SITUATION feels like the mid-card of WWE, because of the super lame DX reunion(did I mention not a damn thing they have done thus far has been funny?) However wouldn't you say that is more a problem with the WWE writers/creative team? I mean it isn't RVD's fault that when he finally wins the title, Vince chooses to make the title/champion a mid-card attraction. Trust me, if it wasn't RVD, it would just be Cena or Edge as the "third wheel" so at least this time the belt is on someone different for a change. Me personally, I'd take the good/entertaining matches that RVD has been putting on since becoming champ, over Triple H standing in the ring for 20 minutes to open every single Raw to talk about how he is god, the game, the best wrestler ever, the king of kinds etc etc etc.

Well, Vince pretty much owns ECW while Heyman just runs it so techniclly the ECW wrestlers are still contracted to WWE, maybe thats why Vince doesn't care or mind that a ECW guy has the WWE title. they're still his wrestlers. besides, during that stupid state of WWE speech, he mentioned that RVD is the new Champion. Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 And because it belongs here too: --Yes, that was the Imposter Kane blow-off last night. If you ever were believing that things were planned out long-term in WWE, just check the results from Vengeance the night before. I'm sure it must have happened, but off the top of my head, I can't ever recall someone put over a major superstar clean in the middle, who was dropped one night later so fast they didn't even bother with him losing a match on the way out. Anyway, this one goes down in history right next to the Gobbledy Gooker, Linda McMahon's divorce from Vince and taking half the company after seeing him with Torrie Wilson on Raw, Linda McMahon's heel turn years later, DDP with the shining teeth, DDP as the Stalker, DDP as the homeless guy, DDP as the lottery winner, a bunch of DDP gimmicks I've forgotten, Oz, Richard & Rod Johnson, The Ding Dongs and the last episode of Seinfeld, the desperation XFL radio and TV ads where they brought up how bad the ratings and gimmicks were, Stephanie McMahon as the owner of ECW, Eric Bischoff's insane "shoot" promos as WCW was collapsing in 1999, David Arquette, Ed Ferrara and Vince Russo holding title gold and The Mullets in all-time gimmick hell. That Charlotte crowd will now go down in forgotten history for killing a character, although this one was really stillborn. It won't go down like the Tacoma crowd, which killed an entire several years worth of plans in one night. Funny, for the first four months of this year when just about every TV crowd was treating John Cena like he was the living incarnation of a Booker T vs. Buff Bagwell match, they decided that they know better than the crowd what the crowd will pay to see. And in that case, he was probably right.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 Well, the entire way that ECW was brought back has been goofy. I thought ECW should have never been flat out mentioned as being owned by Vince. There's no real reason why Vince would be upset about RVD being an ECW guy holding his title hostage, since RVD is obviously too much of a harmless stoner to trash WWE (by tossing the belt, badmouthing WWE, etc). Given that the crowd has essentially treated RVD as a heel since this ECW thing began, they should have just made ECW an outlaw group with no Vince connection, and RVD is flat out holding the belt hostage.
