Guest Arnold_OldSchool Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 Help clue me in, I've been under a rock.
Exslade ZX Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 No. I use Limewire, although there may be better out there, it gets the job done. Just search the song, and you have it. Bittorrent is amazing for whole CDs/Videos anything big. And with Bitlord, which allows you dl files by themselves, I guess it's the same as anything P2P.
Golgo 13 Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 It was passed by a while ago. I believe Soulseek for music and Shareaza for everything else are still considered the forerunners and most preferred of traditional P2P. I use torrents for almost everything, however, and on the rare occasion I can't find a torrent for something, I turn to the first two.
Guest Arnold_OldSchool Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 Are those pay per song sites? (I will check myself later I suppose)
daileyxplanet Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 I use Ares (google it) and have no complaints.
Guest Felonies! Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 Soulseek has been the best for like, what, a year? I don't know/care. Soulseek is good.
tominator89 Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 If you want single songs, try Limewire or SoulSeek. If you're looking for entire albums use bit torrent or mIRC.
Black Lushus Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 I use My Kazaa Gold (which also comes with 360Share)...cost $30 for a lifetime membership and has rarely ever let me down.
Guest silentmichael Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 I use My Kazaa Gold (which also comes with 360Share)...cost $30 for a lifetime membership and has rarely ever let me down. You've been scammed, my friend. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/360Share http://www.fukrulez.com/modules.php?name=N...article&sid=353 http://www.p2pforums.com/portal.php?guide=4407
Sideburnious Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 And here was Lushus thinking it was the man taking money randomly from his bank account.
evilhomer Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 eMule's been my friend for a while. Agreed here. It's sometimes slow, so it's best with a non dial-up connection that you can leave on, but I've found anything I'm looking for.
Black Lushus Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 And here was Lushus thinking it was the man taking money randomly from his bank account. eh it's just 30 bucks...no problems so far!
Guest Princess Leena Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 And here was Lushus thinking it was the man taking money randomly from his bank account. eh it's just 30 bucks...no problems so far! Meh... I'd still cancel whatever you have with them, however. Now that they have your credit card #, it's very possible they can fuck you over.
Art Sandusky Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 Limewire is horrible. Slows my computer to a crawl. I still use the same Kazaa Lite program I downloaded three years ago and have had zero problems.
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 Limewire doesn't slow my computer at all. I like that it will tell you when a file is corrupted before it finishes downloading and I tend to find better bit rates on songs with Limewire.
Red Baron Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 Limewire is horrible. Slows my computer to a crawl. I still use the same Kazaa Lite program I downloaded three years ago and have had zero problems. Exactly. I have the KaZaA Lite Resurection and it works like a charm. Only problem is that if you finish watching a movie clip then go to play music, KaZaA automatically closes.
Red Baron Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 Yes, but you have to be an idiot not to have Spybot and Ad-Aware
Eclipse Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Yeah, Kazaa Gold is a scam....I would so cancel whatever you have with them....
Timmy8271 Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Yes, but you have to be an idiot not to have Spybot and Ad-Aware well... I have Mcaffe? That usually catches and delete's spyware. Kazaa sucks. Ares or Limeware all the way. Though i have dial up(AOL Disks) and it's slow as hell.
Sideburnious Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 On the subject of P2P downloading: Supposedly one of my sisters friend's family is getting sued by the music companies for illegal downloading. While I don't download that much music anymore, I was just wondering how the companies track downloads and if its only certain programs or file. Like if I didn't have a firewall, or if I used Kazaa they could track me?
Red Baron Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 Yes, but you have to be an idiot not to have Spybot and Ad-Aware well... I have Mcaffe? That usually catches and delete's spyware. Kazaa sucks. Ares or Limeware all the way. Though i have dial up(AOL Disks) and it's slow as hell. Download Spybot and Ad-Aware, you'll be surprised on what you can find.
