C'mon anyone who takes Arcade Fire seriously and think they are unique must really clue themselves in and realize that this band is riding on the coat tails of whatever is popular. They'll be a distant memory by 2007.

Instead we should be saying that if Steve Perry ever returns to Journey that Journey should belong into that echelon of great muscians like Elvis, Beatles, etc...

The Arcade Fire really grew on me. There's just a really uplifting enthusiasm to the music that I enjoy.

right. you really have got them down to the tee. that's exactly what they're doing.

my prediction is that by 2007 they'll be a fresh memory because they'll have just released a kickass followup, or a severe disappointment.

wildpegasus was really let off the hook in this thread...and vivalautra has taken a severe post-lashing.

Yes. My inferior musical tastes have clearly been exposed by the extremely witty and well-thought out comments of my superiors. Whatever. I still like The Arcade Fire. I still don't see anything wonderful about the Yeah, Yearh, Yeahs. I still find Berries and Cream Dr. Pepper to be delightful, and I still get bored of people that try to prove some imagined superiority based on musical tastes and the ability to reel off more insults than whomever they are trying to prove forementioned superiority over. I shamelessly like what I like and don't care for what I don't care for and no amount of "post-lashing" will do anything about that. Oh well, have fun with whatever it is that you folks are trying to accomplish in here. Later, alligators.

How DID wildpegasus get off the hook?

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are nothing special, by the way.

I guess cuz he hasn't said anything in about 3 pages. He's probably off somewhere talking about his dad's penis or having sex with a workout bench anyway.

The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs might not be anything special, but, apparently they have a VERY passionate fanbase.

I guess it's catchy enough and has a good beat that you can dance to, but it's not like the coolest thing I've ever heard.

I've actually never listened to them.

I know why Banky hates metal heads. And it's justifiable. Say there's a thread named, I dunno, best Beatles song. It will be going ok, and then Corey Lazarus or someone will pop in and contribute: OMG Scumgore's cover of Blackbird on the Norwegian bootleg single of Satan's Cumdumpster Dance of the Dirge IS the best Beatles' song ever, fags! \|oo|

Fans of other genres are never this bad!

"If you dont listen to metal music you're a pussy."

at least i don't have to bathe sin off of me each day. by sin, i mean fleas.

why are metalheads so dirty & greasy?

Hippie Envy.

I'll give metalheads this: they are more tolerable than hippies. Also, Black Metal is the worst musical sub-genre ever created.
