Bruiser Chong Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 I haven't been watching the Braves-Friars game. I just turned it on to see the Braves blow it, but I did hear that the Braves blew a 5-1 lead. Is that...correct? Yeah. They were up four before the first out was recorded and even though the Padres kept in it, the Braves added on a run here or there to stay ahead until it was notched up at eight.
strummer Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 and Adam LaRouche just hits one about 470 to dead center to give the Braves the lead again that quickly
vivalaultra Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Cripes Jiminy... I bet that run doesn't hold up.
bob_barron Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 I've seen about 80 Braves games where they take the lead in the top of the inning and then blow it one inning later.
Bruiser Chong Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Jesus, this pitching sucks. Let's do this thing; I need to get to bed.
vivalaultra Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Yep. Knew it. So, there's been a total of 4 blown saves in 2 innings now...I bet this goes to at least 15 innings. How long till Bobby Cox starts warming up starters?
bob_barron Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Bobby Cox looks like he wants to kill Jorge Sosa.
Bruiser Chong Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 He's the one who kept him in there to blow the game...twice.
Bruiser Chong Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 This is like a little league game. A bad little league game.
naiwf Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 This is like a little league game. A bad little league game. At least with little leaguers you can applaud their effort and they're generally happy if they get cookies afterwards. The guys involved in this game are getting paid for this shit. If the Braves blow this 3 run lead they should just forfeit their remaining ~70 games.
bob_barron Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 He's the one who kept him in there to blow the game...twice. He had one pitcher left, so I don't think he wanted to burn out his bullpen. Poor Bobby. In the Braves defence, it is 2:30 am Atlanta time, so I give them credit for not giving them the game.
bob_barron Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 WE WON WE WON WE WON... And Sosa gets the win
Guest Smues Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 I've seen about 80 Braves games where they take the lead in the top of the inning and then blow it one inning later. Hasn't that happened basically every game this season? And damn looking at that box score I wish I'd been able to watch yesterday's game, looks like a total mess of a game all around.
Guest NYankees Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Can someone please give me a complete analysis of the White Sox. They are about to lose their 5th straight to the combo of the Red Sox and Yankees.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 I was on vacation for a week. SIDNEY PONSON?
Guest StylesMark Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 I was on vacation for a week. SIDNEY PONSON? Ponson is the new Mussina? I tried... Nice stomping of the White Sox today though.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Bedard is on his way to win #11. and Ponson to the Yankees is going to be hillarious from an Os fan's perspective.
Guest NYankees Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Bedard is on his way to win #11. and Ponson to the Yankees is going to be hillarious from an Os fan's perspective. The past decade and the 1996 ALCS was and has been hiliarious from a Yankee fan's perspective.
Guest Smues Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Braves are up 11-3 with 4 outs to go, which of course isn't safe with this bullpen, especially since Smoltz is in line for the win, but ignoring that Chipper Jones is now the all time Atlanta hits leader. He'll never even come close to the franchise title, but still good for him.
Guest Smues Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Braves win and are 5 1/2 back of the wildcard. I don't see us getting it this year, but at least there's still a decent chance of it. We just need 11 runs every night and we're set.........to win maybe 60% of the remaining games. Damn bullpen.
Jericholic82 Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 damn red sox win 7-0. well I guess they got to just keep pace here. screw the WC I think most yanks fans would agree, we want the division dont know how, but they are going ot need to make some kind of move, and the Ponson thing isnt it.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Factoid that I Saw on the net: There were no saves in yesterdays games for the first time in 28 years.
Guest Princess Leena Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Hawk's call on Alexander's HR was great.
Guest NYankees Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Super Mariano with his 400th career save.
2GOLD Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Jon Miller thinks one of the reason Hernandez may have struggled tonight is cause the Mets catcher's last name is Castro. No, I'm not making that up.
vivalaultra Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Jon Miller thinks one of the reason Hernandez may have struggled tonight is cause the Mets catcher's last name is Castro. No, I'm not making that up. That is why Jon Miller is the greatest TV baseball broadcaster in the game today.
Guest StylesMark Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Super Mariano with his 400th career save. Indeed. I believe this is the first sweep for the Yanks this season. 1/2 game back from Boston.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 When the 18/58 update came up, I half expected to see "Cubs release 2B Todd Walker."
