UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2006 TNA has completely dropped the ball with Rhyno. Last week, he delivered an AMAZING backstage promo, with inclusion of his "shoot" at the ECW Arena. But it was the psychotic look on his face, the crazy eyes, and screaming rage which hadn't been seen since 2001 that got me most interested. And immediately afterwards he should have come out, had a squash, and piledrove someone through a table. Instead. Monty Brown, who both the live fans and internet now hate, came out, worked a shitty squash, looked fat, and did nothing of note. Now, TNA has Rhyno once again lumped in with Team Canada on tonight's Impact!, playing BIG TOUGH BABYFACE. Christ, when will TNA (and WWE) learn? RHYNO ONLY WORKS AS A PSYCHOTIC HEEL. No disrespect to Rhyno, perhaps he doesn't "only" work in that way, but he sure as hell works BEST that way. _______ If TNA wants a heel for the live crowds and internet to adore, they must: 1) Get Monty Brown off TV temporarily. 2) Turn Rhyno heel, attacking someone's girlfriend or someone's vulnerable friend/valet/manager during a special moment. Get the ECW memories back. 3) Have Rhyno, speaking little IF AT ALL, demolish opponents, goring them through tables and piledriving through tables. 4) Eventually build to Rhyno Vs. Joe. THAT will draw money. The old Rhyno would never team up with Jay Lethal, I'm sorry. Lethal's a fantastic worker, but Rhyno's character only associates with scumbags (Corino/Victory/Cyrus, Edge/Christian) or those who doesn't have tp argue with because he can't understand them (Tajiri), IMO. Rhyno's an awesome talent that's been totally ruined and turned into "mid-card babyface #19" in TNA. Fix this NOW, TNA, before it's too late. Want further proof? When did Rhyno's heat in WWE die? When he teamed up with CHRIS BENOIT of all people. Was it because Rhyno sucked? No, he worked good matches and bumped well. Was it because Benoit sucked? Good god no. Was it because their opponents sucked? Yeah right, The World's Greatest Tag Team, Eddie & Chavo Guerrero, and Palumbo & Nunzio were very capable opponents. Yes, even the FBI, who at that time were booked stronger, getting PPV wins and working with Undertaker. So what was the problem? Booking Rhyno as a babyface with feelings who cared about the fans. You can put the guy in there with Benoit, Eddie, Shelton, AND IT WON'T MATTER. GIVE THEM PPV TIME? DOESN'T MATTER. HE NEEDS TO BE A HEEL. FIX IT, TNA! 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2006 Rhyno's only in the match because it's his chance to destroy Team Canada. He doesn't give a damn about Lethal or the others, he just wants to destroy Team Canada and get his hands on Rhode one on one. It actually does make sense. And I get the feeling Rhyno is headed for his old character more and more each week. But they are doing it the right way, a slow build and then *SNAP*. I think they have finally realized the kind of character that made Rhyno awesome.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2006 I felt with last week's Rhino promo, Rhino is sorta going back to his ECW in your face gimmick.......Which I liked a lot. I'm all for intense Rhino again.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2006 It's ironic that this post (which could have been made on any day since a week after Bound For Glory) was made today...on the day when all anyone is talking about in this folder is Rhino and his obvious new push. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2006 There's nothing really ironic about the post. I've just had a similar discussion over the past week since seeing the promo and thought I'd post it. If he goes crazy and gores like 17 people tonight, good for him, I don't read the spoilers. But if he ends up helping Team Canada win, that's bad for business, IMO, as they need to go on their own already and end another of TNA's millions of WCW ripoff angles/stables. However, having just looked at tonight's IMPACT thread, I do see that everyone seems to be talking about Rhyno and some interview tonight. Which is why this thread is totally different...I in no way think Rhino TALKING is a good idea. TNA does, however, but TNA booking sucks.

luke-o 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2006 I think there pushing Rhino for a more psychotic persona each week. Who would have thought this new ECW would yeild some positive results?
Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2006 Yeah, maybe if they book Rhino the right way like they did in ECW, TNA can profit from it just as much as ECW did!!!!.......... I'm all for this character change, but who are you kidding if you think this will make TNA any money?

I'm all for this character change, but who are you kidding if you think this will make TNA any money? You don't think that people will pay money to see a psychotic guy piledriving women, children, and farm animals?
BruiserKC 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 "Violence... it gets me off more than Francine's mouth around my cock... violence." -Rhino That Rhino owns. Best line from an interview ever was when Rhino won the ECW World title and said, "This is the belt they'll all die for? Well, this is the belt I'll KILL for!" Imagine the carnage of putting Rhyno and Abyss together under the tutelage of Mitchell.

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2006 Hey, what do you know, Rhyno's squashing people on Impact! and working a program with Joe. Now put Rhyno OVER Joe at the next PPV and have Rhyno be the first challenger for Joe's World Title run.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2006 That would be the dumbest thing they can do. It doesn't matter what you think of Rhino or Joe... Joe has a hell hell hell of a lot more juice than Rhino.
Timmy8271 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2006 That would not only be stupid but retarded. This is the same man that jobbed to A1.
luke-o 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2006 Only cause they thought he was on his way back to "ECW"
Bruce Blank 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2006 I'm sorry but jobbing Joe to Rhino at this point would derail the Joe Express, there is no doubt they're pushing for Joe to become the huge World champion - hell if done right he'll be the guy to carry the federation forward. Build Rhino up more before any talks of Rhino going over Joe.
Maztinho 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2006 Hey, what do you know, Rhyno's squashing people on Impact! and working a program with Joe. Now put Rhyno OVER Joe at the next PPV and have Rhyno be the first challenger for Joe's World Title run. Possibly book it where they knock each other senseless resulting in a No Contest, but like it's been said, Joe's Streak maintains intact until he's a World champion. UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2006 If TNA wants a heel for the live crowds and internet to adore, they must: The whole idea of a heel is for everyone to hate the guy. Not for the guy to be a "WINK WINK, I'M SUPPOSED TO BE A HEEL, BUT I'M REALLY COOL" guy that the internet creams over every week, which is almost every heel in wrestling today save for a few guys.
