Hawk 34 Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Booker and Khali are the only top name regulars(Since Taker takes the usual hiatus) for Smackdown that hasn't gone down or suffered a injury this year. By November, if Smackdown even exists it will be main evented by Tatanka and Kid Kash.

By November, if Smackdown even exists it will be main evented by Tatanka and Kid Kash. And yet it will still be the better booked wrestling show compared to RAW and ECW. It's very refreshing to hear Smackdown! and A-Show in the same sentence with JBL on commentary.
Scroby Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Sucks for Lashley but HELLS YES for Regal vs Finlay but since its WWE booking, I don't think it will be as good as it should be. Man I"m really considering ordering the PPV. Regal vs Finlay and Booker T winning the title could (should) be great things to see.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 From what I hear he was 275 when he entered the OVW. Which is reasonable for his size now.

Remember they did allow Benoit/Finlay to go alomst 30 minutes at Judgment Day so maybe the same will apply here- afterall it's not like they've announced loads of matches is it?
Fökai Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 From what I've asked around (doctors in the family), as well as search-engined, it could be from a number of factors, but the one that stood out from all of their discussions...hepatitis. Here's something I found from the Mayo Clinic website: A laboratory report of elevated liver enzymes is common. It doesn't indicate a specific disease. However, it may be due to a liver disorder, even if you don't have any symptoms of liver problems. To determine the underlying cause of elevated liver enzymes, your doctor may recommend further testing. Liver enzymes help maintain a variety of chemical and metabolic processes that occur in the liver. Normally, only very small amounts of these enzymes are present in your blood. * Medications, such as certain nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, cholesterol-lowering medications, antibiotics and anti-seizure medications * Drinking too much alcohol * Obesity * Diabetes * Elevated triglycerides * Infection, such as viral hepatitis and mononucleosis * Autoimmune disorders of the liver and bile ducts, such as autoimmune hepatitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis and primary biliary cirrhosis * Metabolic liver disease, such as hemochromatosis and Wilson's disease * Excessive use of vitamin supplements and certain herbal supplements * Tumors of the liver or bile ducts
Lt. Al Giardello Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 I still think this is a work... Good excuse to have Regal Vs. Finlay one on one. I think this will be better then a Triple Threat w/ Lashley, as much as I'm a fan of Lashley.
Fökai Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Don't know if another thread was necessary, but according to Dave, Khali is also off the card for the same reason. He is being replaced by TBS for the gimmick match with Taker.

He is being replaced by TBS for the gimmick match with Taker. Wha... what? I miss the old days when the WWE didn't care about a wrestler's health. Since I am not a doctor, why can't these men wrestle because of their liver enzymes? Will the Big Show match change to extreme rules? How do you explain to the fans that two of their draws can't wrestle? (I guess injury angle)
Lt. Al Giardello Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Does anyone else think both of these are works? What else can explain this...
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Mark Henry is out for 8 months and then these two things happen. I think it's just bad luck. Why would these be works? It would only be a work if those wrestlers were beat in up in a nightclub or something.
Timmy8271 Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 I doubt it's a work. I wouldn't be surprised if they take Batista off too.
sluggo Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 wow. SD roster is low, but this is a kick in the nuts. Good thing I picked Big Show instead of Khali on the fantasy roster this week
Wrestlefreak Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 I LOVE the prospect of Finlay/Regal. Bring it on!!
Enigma Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 The story is all being tied together regarding WWE's decisions today. The shows (ECW house shows) were canceled because Vince McMahon made the call early in the day that Big Show will replace Great Khali on Sunday, against The Undertaker, in the Punjabi Prison match. Khali also has a diseased liver and is expected to be taken off the road. -- Dave Meltzer, www.wrestlingobserver.com This marks the third major change to a PPV that has already been dismantled with Mark Henry's severe knee injury and Bobby Lashley's wellness policy violation. I wonder if WWE will publicize the Khali removal before the show? The new, updated card is this: -- Rey Mysterio vs. King Booker for the World Heavyweight Championship -- Batista vs. Ken Kennedy -- The Undertaker vs. The Big Show in a Punjabi Prison Match -- Finlay vs. William Regal for the United States Championship -- Brian Kendrick & Paul London vs. Jamie Noble & Kid Kash for the Tag Team Championship -- Ashley Massaro vs. Jillian Hall vs. Kristal Marshall vs. Michelle McCool in a 4-Way Bra & Panties Match -- Greg Helms vs. ??????? for the Cruiserweight Championship Was it even worth $39.99 before? Heh.
Dobbs 3K Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Yeah, but I think the show has actually gotten better due to the illnesses/injuries.

And you forgot Helms/Crazy, too. http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...t&p=2268601 http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...t&p=2268557
Enigma Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 PWInsider Elite says that Bobby Lashley has been indefinitely suspended for violating the WWE wellness policy. With Kurt Angle being suspended and now Lashley, it really looks like they are serious about the policy, which is great.
DrVenkman PhD Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 This card has become so much better due to injuries/health problems. I can't think of anything similar happening in the modern era - the closest being Undertaker vs Ahmed Johnson being turned into Undertaker vs. Vader at Canadian Stampede.
Enigma Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Because if Bobby Lashley deserves it's own thread, this does. And plus, I didn't even see the thread when I created it. Give me a break. I haven't slept. Why don't you go advertise your awesome GAB thread in the Lashley thread, Mr. Look-At-Me-I-Create-Every-OAO-Thread-I'm-Awesome. And I took the matchlisting right off WWE.Com. I don't watch Smackdown. I have a lot better things to do on Friday night than watch a shitty wrestling show.
St. Gabe Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 So...How do they tie this up. Pre taped promo of spooky shit happening to Khali and he runs away into the darkness never to be seen again. Probably taped it yesterday.

The Lashley news got a thread first, because it became known before the Khali news. It could all go in one thread. "Mr. Look-At-Me-I-Create-Every-OAO-Thread-I'm-Awesome." Dude, that was lame, shut the fuck up. You're one to talk about creating threads, at least I don't create needless threads, of OLD NEWS. You can create all the OAO threads anymore if they get your dick off so much, loser. And yeah, Smackdown > Raw and "ECW".
Guest Arnold_OldSchool Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 What was the last PPV in the WWE w/ this many dropouts? Survior Series 91 (Sid, Jake, Jim Neidhart, Steamboat, Big Bully Busick all taken off PPV after being promoted.)

iliketurtles Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Does anyone else think both of these are works? What else can explain this... Roids. Ask Superstar Billy Graham.
spman Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Meltzer is reporting that Khali is off the show too, and will be replaced by Big Show.
Guest J0bber Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Wow, unbelievable. There seems to be a curse on Smackdown within the last few days.
Vampiro69 Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Lets settle down. It isn't like the board is going to breakdown because he made this thread.
