JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2006 A spot you see in a lot of Indy matches where one guy will sweep the legs of the other and go for a cover only to roll off him himself and then the other guy will sweep the legs, go for the cover and then roll himself off. It looks so contrived. Agreed. Also at the beginning of nearly every indy match, the guys will roll around a little bit and then stop to stare at one another while the crowd applauds. Coffin Surfer 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2006 "From the time he entered WCW in 1994 the company went downhill from the bad PPVs that featured Hogan vs Vader " How does a Main Event as terrible as Vader vs. Flair Superbrawl 94 get off the hook? Can we blame Hogan for that. Yeesh. At least Hogan/Vader Superbrawl 95 was a good match.

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2006 Little kids. VERY little kids. But that's not the point of the thread. The point of the thread was to talk about what flat-out says it's fake. We know it's not real, but this is about the times when it's hard to suspend disbelief, thus ruining our enjoyment of the show. It'd be like watching a movie and constantly seeing the boom mic lower onto the screen, or seeing the reflection of a guy carrying cue-cards. What ruins my suspension of disbelief is impracticality. I know it's fake, and I know that most of what happens is scripted (or at the very least partially planned out), but when something as dumb as, say, a wrestler doing a run-in taking forever because they're waiting for their entrance music to reach its peak, and the heel in the ring beating down the face just waits. It works for some to a certain degree (like Kane or Undertaker, since both have rather ominous entrances that feel like they'd make you piss yourself if you know that you were on their shit-list), but most it's terrible. Coffin Surfer 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2006 "Did you enjoy the Baywatch crossover for the Hogan vs Vader feud?" I enjoy Baywatch in general actually but that's beside the point. I won't deny Hogan's face run in WCW for the most part was ass but let's not pretend he invented the crappy overbooked Vader Main Event. Ric Flair beat him to the punch a good year before with Superbrawl 94. And yes, Superbrawl 95 is a good match that kills the Main Event the year before and Hogan's performance is the difference.
