Just John 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2006 Good to hear Lashley will be back. He's not the best wrestler in the world, but he's improving, has lots of fire, and the fans like him. SD needs more midcard faces. Once Benoit gets back, SD should return to its early 2006 form in terms of quality.

iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2006 I would really LOVE to hear about these stories. You must be about the seventh person to ask about the stories. I almost think it needs to be pinned at this point. (BTW, basically Lita likes gangbangs and golden showers. That's the gist of it.) Ugh, I heard stories about Lita when she was running around the mid South in the 90s. She is rumored to be a dirty whore who fucks men and women. That's part of the reason why Edge's wife did not wish to invite her to their wedding or be friendly with her.

Celtic Guardian 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2006 The Washington Post site held a chat with Dr. Clarke Holmes, Director of Sports Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital, about the recent steroid issues in general. Two questions about liver enzymes were noted... Anonymous: Are liver function tests an indicator of possible steroid use/abuse? Dr. Clarke Holmes: Yes, in steroid users, liver enzymes, particularly ALT, can be elevated. However, essentially hundreds of medical conditions can elevate liver enzymes, and thus, abnormal levels cannot confirm the use of steroids. Also, normal liver enzymes do not exclude the use of steroids ---- Anonymous: Elevated ALT scores oft-times point to the Hep C virus. What does it point to most often in athletes? Drinking? Or liver damage from drugs, including steroids? Dr. Clarke Holmes: Common reasons for athletes to have elevated liver enzymes- intense training, alcohol, medications (Tylenol and even anti-inflammatories commonly used by athletes such as ibuprofen), viral illnesses plus many others. One must consider steroid use but other causes are more common
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2006 From the latest F4W Weekly: Last week’s thinned-out roster seems to be padding back up again as Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashley and Great Khali are all back on the road, and RVD is scheduled back within two weeks. Matt Hardy, as noted briefly last week, and Tatanka are both out for the next thirty days, but neither was playing a major role on TV. Angle lost to RVD on the June 27th show and then was suspended for 30 days due to issues with prescription pain medication. He was scheduled to return at the ECW tapings shortly after we went to press at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. The question was whether he’d be tested before he came back. The answer is no, but once he’s back he’ll be subject to the random testing again. Theoretically he could be tested Tuesday night, but probably not. There are many in WWE who figure he’s not passing the next test, whenever it comes down (which is almost certainly why they didn’t test him before allowing him to come back). I could be wrong, but I don’t expect an ECW Title run anytime in the near future for that very reason. Regarding RVD, I can almost guarantee they won’t be testing him for marijuana, even though after his arrest they have just cause to do so whenever they want. Regarding Lashley and Khali, both underwent a second test last week and it was determined that their liver enzyme levels were back to normal, so they’re both back in action. If anything, this is an even stronger indication that the enzyme issues were steroid-related, because if your liver enzymes are screwed up due to Hepatitis C or something like that, they don’t go from being at dangerous levels to normal levels in a matter of days (Lashley’s were listed as dangerous; Khali’s were merely “elevated”). If your liver is screwed up because you’re taking large amounts of oral steroids and then you stop, things can quickly return to normal. Scott Williams, who wrote the ECW Hardcore History book, interviewed Dr. Roger Soloway for his weekly wrestling column in the Galveston News. Soloway is a hepatologist and professor of medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Regarding WWE concerns that some of this might be the result of a hepatitis outbreak, Saloway said: “In close-quarter settings, when you’ve got someone who has come down with Hepatitis A, it’s very likely to spread quickly. It can be spread by something as simple as eating common meals together.” He noted that Lashley’s numbers were interesting, and that most athletes with elevated liver enzymes are steroid users. “It’s not the case with growth-hormone drugs, which affect every organ in the body, but steroids are metabolized through the liver. A lot of these guys are bulked up beyond imagination; some look like Barry Bonds-plus. These people, their appeal has to do with them having as much bulk as they can have.” WWE sources are adamant that Matt Hardy has been suspended for 30 days, which means his staph infection claim from last week is most likely bullshit. Had he been taken off the road for a medical issue, there wouldn’t have been a 30-day time limit or anything like that; he’d have been off the road until the situation was handled. Khali and Lashley were back on the road within a week of the first test. There is no word on what Hardy was suspended for (steroids, pain pills, etc.), only that he has been suspended. It should be noted that his webmaster was the person who spread the staph infection story last week. This week, a post was made on Hardy’s website message board citing an Observer story that staph might not be the reason. The webmaster told everyone to just move on and locked the topic. Another thread was started and the webmaster told everyone to please stop discussing the situation. Tatanka DOWN. That’s right, the Native American Warrior will also be taken off the road due to failing a drug test, perhaps for peyote. Michael Cole would be appalled at me for making such a statement about a man who wrestles in full war attire and wears a feathered headdress and loin cloth to the ring. So I apologize. He worked all week, so the suspension has not gone into effect yet. Don’t ask me why. Maybe they want him to put some guys over on the way out. I’m surprised he was the only new one in the last few days, because the word is that more are coming. It should also be noted that Vince was very unhappy when word got out that Great Khali was suspended, so this is not a deal where they want people to know about all of them. It’s sort of like ECW Extreme Rules, in that some of them will be made public (very public in the case of Bobby Lashley), and others they’ll attempt to kayfabe. Important stuff has been bolded. Looks like the webmaster of Matt Hardy's site is keen for people to just accept his story and not question him at all.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2006 I'd assume pain pills, or something like that, with Matt. With his body, I just can't imagine it being steroids, unless he doesn't know how steroids work or something.

With his body, I just can't imagine it being steroids, unless he doesn't know how steroids work or something. Noble got caught for steroids a while back. And he never had this larger than life figure either. Some people have a theory that Matt is intentionally trying to get himself fired so he failed the test on purpose. . Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2006 With his body, I just can't imagine it being steroids, unless he doesn't know how steroids work or something. Matt Hardy is a lot bigger than people think. He looks small compared the huge guys around, but when you put him next to a normal looking guy, like Chris Daniels, he looks huge. Nobody thought Jeff Hardy was big but when he was in the ring with AJ Styles he made AJ look small.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2006 I'm not talking about Hardy's mass. I know he's not a small guy...he's actually quite stocky. But he has no defination once so ever. Nothing. He's just a blob of muscle.

He's just a blob of muscle. He could just have bad genetics. Some guys can take tons and tons of steroids but if they have bad genetics then they'll never have the body you'd think a steroid user would. Josh Barnett tested positive for steroids and he certainly never had the kind of body you'd think a steroid user would.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2006 Nah, I don't think it's genetics, because he was looking good and cut during his intial Version 1 days. If you told me at that time he was taking roids, I'd be right there with you. But now? Unless he's retarded and forgot how to take roids, I doubt it highly. And sorry, that Josh Barnett reference went right over my head.

Long story short, Barnett was UFC Champion but stripped of the belt after testing positive for steroids. Part of his defense, which did not go over well with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, saw his manager literally say to the Commission, "Does he look like he's on steroids?". He didn't look like he was, but he was. You need not look like you're on them to be on them.
