If it's what I'm thinking of, from what I saw it was a hurracanrana - the original one that ends in a pin (rana). Oh, and joining in the Terkay love, although I want to see more Burke. Guest Human Highlight Reel Report post Posted August 12, 2006 I just don't get why Chavo is in any way the heel in this. Over the past year Rey has used his son in an angle to get himself over, and then used the death of his best friend to get himself into the main event. Do they even realize how bad Rey looks in some ways? In the end, they are asking fans to cheer for a guy who has been using his dead best friend, and to boo the dead man's nephew who is legitimately grieving. You have no idea what you're talking about. Rey didn't get himself in the main event, he was put there, it's the writers who decided to go the Eddie route with it. He didn't use Eddie to get himself over, Rey was very over before Eddie passed. Eddie was one of Rey's best friends, you don't think he's grieving? Rey's a very religious man, he probably believes Eddie is "up there" watching him, and he's paying tribute to the man. Rey is not using Eddie anymore than Chavo is.
Just John 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2006 Further, there's a rumor of Vicki "turning heel" and siding with Chavo. Thing is, Vicki Guerrero CAN'T TURN HEEL. She frames the issue between them. It is Vicki who ultimately decides who is right and who is wrong here: If she sides with Rey, then Rey isn't offending the Guerreros, and Chavo is a bitter heel loner. If she sides with Chavo, then Rey is a sneaky opportunist using Eddie's name to get himself over. The problem is SD tends to have very markish crowds who believe whatever the bookers give them. In some ways it's refreshing in this day and age, but you can't count on them to voice their displeasure with a bad angle. At worst they'll stay silent (like Orton/Rey). If Vicki sides with Chavo, Michael Cole will just go on a rant about how she's stupid and that Eddie's rolling over in his grave because his family is persecuting Rey. what was that crappy TNA-like move Rey did on Kennedy? I mean, for Rey, it's different, but I really hate those ridiculous "Canadian Destroyer" type moves. That flipping power bomb Rey did was the Code Red (popularized by Amazing Red). Rey's done it a couple times since joining WWE.

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2006 I've said it before, I hope the crowd turns Rey heel and Chavo face in this fued. Why would you want that? Rey is a natural face, while Chavo is so much better as a heel. Chavo has never really been over as a face in the WWE, except when paired w/ Eddie. Any face heat Chavo would get would be because of his relation w/ Eddie, which we can all agree has got to stop (playing up Eddie for storylines).
Guest Scorpy Report post Posted August 12, 2006 i am not actually sure i am in the right topic, but if i am wrong you would correct me, i guess. So, Yesterdays Smackdown! show was normal. Not good and not so bad. To be honest, This Diva Search thing pisses me off, and especially because of the show time Smackdown wastes for THIS. Main event wasnt as good as i expected. It was kind of...slow. In my opininon bookers should just try to finish this Chavo-Rey feud that involves poor Vicky.. thats awful i think. Regal and Finly look very good as a tag-team. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2006 Human Highlight Reel, I get some of what you are saying but it's hard to know how they originally put this to Rey. I can see them saying "We want you to dedicate your Rumble performance to Eddie" and him agreeing, thinking it would be a moving moment. But then it kept going and got out of control. Either way I can't see Rey main eventing without doing this Eddie angle. Anyway what are you exactly arguing? That Rey is actually right to constantly mention Eddie, or that Chavo is the heel in this feud for being upset about it? Compare the way Rey has used Eddie's death (and the closeness of their friendship isn't what I'm debating) with someone like Chris Benoit. Benoit is also grieving. But before he was injured Benoit wasn't out there dedicating all of his matches to Eddie. He did some low key tributes and that was it.

I wouldn't say he's right to constantly mention Eddie, but there's certainly nothing wrong with it. He hardly does it anymore anyway. Benoit is Benoit, and even he does the three amigos and some Eddie gestures. He doesn't get any shit for it. Rey won the biggest match of his career, there's nothing wrong with dedicating that to a recently passed friend.

Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Report post Posted August 12, 2006 James/Stevens, Burke and Turk-eye and MVP I dont see any of them hanging around long. Stevens and Turkay will stay. They probably have big things planned for Stevens, like Doane on Raw. The guy is the next Edge/Nitro clone. I can see them dropping James and Burke pretty fast. I've haven't seen MVP wrestle before, but I like his gimmick, he seems interesting so far.

And I believe it would be the other way around anyways...I remember an interview or something with Red saying Rey was one of his idols, and that's why he did a few moves from his moveset (Like the 619 a lot, in early TNA)

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2006 I have been a fan of KC James since I saw him at an OVW house show and he did a riotous Memphis heel schtick. It might be too regional to get over in WWE however. Neither James or Stevens is particularly good in the ring, but James has it all over him in terms of natural charisma. Aaron "The Idol" Stevens had a fantastic gimmick in OVW with Beth Phoenix and Shelly (now Ariel on ECW). Once they broke up the menage a trois his heat vanished, because then people saw he was a fairly mediocre worker with bland mic skills.

Guest J0bber Report post Posted August 13, 2006 Terkay is overrated. He missed a so called knock out punch on that jobber by about five inches. His submissions aren't really anything special either. He is the modern day version of Hercules Hernadez thrown in with a bit of technical ability and a fight background.
