Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 sigh Seriously how can you consider Eazy nothing after Dre and Cube left him? He made tons of money after they left them. Bone Thugs sold more under Eazy, the N.W.A ever did. FACT.
Annabelle 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 admittedly i've never studied the record sales of bone thugs. but to most sensible & discernable music listeners would consider eazy's output after nwa to be minimal. even if it he did create the chart top, record smashing, rap hit group bone thugs & harmony! in the mainstream, and even to critical acclaim, dre & cube had a much more prosperous career after leaving eazy's ass. in fact, eazy became the punch line for many jokes while dre & cube made tons fo cash off of white boys trying to be gangsta. westside connection, while wildly popular in my high school as well, has no held up compared to nwa's work. anyone with ANY sense of musical history, heck musical aptitude, knows that cube was born & bred from nwa. not the westside connection. its quite comical that you believe you opinion on rap is more credible simply because you are black, and grew up in a "hood". but to me, anyone who has the opinion that bone thugs & onyx meant anything to rap music doesn't mean shit to me. spew out the record sales or what you gangbangin' friends think, those groups are/were awful. fact. Explain to me this. If Eazy's output after NWA was minimal, then why did he have a DOUBLE PLATINUM CD BASED OFF DISSING DR. DRE????? The same album that almost got him MURDERED by the Death Row camp. Real Muthafuckin G'z was a serious diss, and he exposed Dre for what he was, a studio gangsta. Even in the video he had pictures of Dre wearing lipstick as apart of the "World Class Wreckin Crew". That video alone killed Dre's reputation as some kind of thug. "No Vaseline" was by far the best diss of this whole NWA beef, but despite what you like you think, he RIPPED Dr. Dre in that track also, not just Eazy. You said Westside Connection"was popular in your high school. But guess what, Westside Connection was popular when I was in elementry school. Therefore people my age group THAT I'VE TALK TO most know Cube from Westside Connection, his solo career, and his movie career, then they do off his NWA career. I never claimed to be a thug or a gangsta, just because I'm black(I'm half white half black, by the way dickhead) has nothing to do with this. Race has nothing to do with this, and because you bring this into a debate like this, your lame. Most people who I consider who know their history of Rap/Hip Hop have been white, and very few have been black.

Jorge Gorgeous 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 sigh Seriously how can you consider Eazy nothing after Dre and Cube left him? He made tons of money after they left them. Bone Thugs sold more under Eazy, the N.W.A ever did. FACT. I know what you're saying, but you're treading dangerous ground by validating a group by their record sales. After NWA Dre made The Chronic and Cube made AmeriKKKas and Lethal Injection, these are definitely more highly regarded than anything Eazy did after NWA, even if you want to consider Eazy responsible for Bone Thugs' work. However, it isn't really fair to compare Eazy to Dre and Cube because Eazy was dying from AIDS. Anyway, I'll put myself on the list of people who love NWA. Straight Outta Compton is fucking fantastic. While its interesting to note that Cube wrote lyrics for so and so, and Dre made the beats on this song and that song, it really doesn't diminish the album for me. I can listen to that record from start to finish.

snuffbox 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 Eazy E wrote/recorded some of the cheesiest 'gangsta rap' I have ever listened to.
FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 Banky was right in the NWA "debate" with EHME. And, D, there's no way The D.O.C. could have had Dre's career. Dre made his career off of being an innovative producer and making stars.

I agree that The Chronic, AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, and Death Certificate are more better in quallity of music then It's On,( Dr. Dre ), but I'm just trying to prove the point that Eazy still was an important figure after N.W.A left him. Eazy E may have never wrote his own raps, but he knew talent when he saw it. Before he died he made a fourtane of Bone Thugs, whose debut "Creepin On Ah Come Up" when multi-platinum. It's all about opinion, which I clearly support my opinion with cold hard facts, where as Banky resorted to child like insults that should be in NHB. But then again, I could see you saying somthing like that since your one of my haters.
Guest DRH 502 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 I'd like to add a nod to the Kottonmouth Kings. A different type of hip-hop, and some of the newer shit is just plain not hip-hopish at all, but the first three or four albums they put out were dope. I wish I had thought of them when I made my original list. And Frogg, how much of Dre's stuff has been written by D.O.C.?? Jay-Z?? Eminem?? Ice Cube?? Any others? Serious question i'm very curious I always knew Dre, E and Puff had ghostwritters but I was never too sure who was writing Dre's stuff because it was like he had a different type of rhyme scheme for every song... Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 No ICP and Twiztid suck, however KMK has put out some decent shit. Just curious have you ever heard any KMK? What songs? I own High Society and Royal Highness...there are some okay cuts on those but nothing that would put them in on a top 10 of all time list...well my own, anyway. FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 I agree with Lushus on KMK not being in anywhere near the top 10. And D, Dre and Puffy never write. They have ghostwriters for everything. On thier tracks with guests on them, you can tell because thier flows sound more like whoever they're with at the time. Like I said, Dre didn't even write the song dedicated to his brother from 2001, Royce the 5'9" did. Faith Evans wrote "I'll Be Missing You". Eazy had ghost writers, too. You can tell when he tries to write his own shit, 'cause it sucks. I don't know as much about Eazy's ghost writers as Dre's and to a lesser extent Puffy's, but all three hardly ever wrote anything, if they wrote at all. Annabelle 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 kottonmouth kings are even worse than onyx & bone thugs. seriously. all of you just leave. you're all so awful.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 Actually Dre never had ghostwriters, because he gave all his writers credit. You can even see him give Jay Z credit for writing those 2 hits for him in the Chronic 2001 booklet. Where it says S. Carter in the credits. Ghostwriter means not giving anyone credit taking what someone written for you and claiming it's your own work. But ghostwriters make alot of money. Just ask Mad Skillz. Some of Puffy's ghostwriters included: Biggie, The LOX, Black Rob, Mad Skillz, Sauce Money, Eminem, Mase, Loon, Smitty, Common etc. Diddy knows how to pick his ghostwriters. Supposely Royce Da 59, Talib Kweli among others wrote some songs for him on his new cd. Another interesting ghostwriting facts... Nas ghostwrote Will Smith's smash hit Miami and Gettin Jiggy with It, and wrote all of Foxy's verses while in the Firm(wasn't hard to tell). Biggie, Cam'Ron and Jadakiss all ghostwrote for Lil Kim I don't know if it's 100% true but apparently Jada wrote for Eve aswell. Common wrote some tracks on Willenium. FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 Yeah, I know what ghost writing means, I just use the term whether credit is given or not in the liner notes. And all that shit you said after that is correct.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2006 Some more ghostwriting myths: T.I., Styles, Jadakiss, J-Kwon, Da Brat, Jermaine Dupri all wrote for Bow Wow Rick Ross and Remy Ma writes for Fat Joe currently(In an old interview with Cuban Linx, before Rick Ross was ever famous, he said that a rapper from Miami name Rick Ross is writing for Fat Joe) Rick Ross supposely writes for Trick Daddy, but I doubt it's true. Rick Ross wrote for alot of people. Lil Wayne has wrote for Trina, Baby, Dre(Cool and Dre), Diddy, etc. Jay Z wrote for Foxy early in her career.
Carnival 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2006 dude....Kottonmouth Kings??? now all we need is Carnival to come along and mention Twiztid and ICP and this thread will officially go to shit! suck my black cock Lushus. Kottonmouth Kings have two things against them. Bad rapping and lack of subject matter. But, I've said this before....If KMK was mainstream then Daddy X would be mentioned in the same breath as Manny Fresh, Timbaland, Dr. Dre and Kanye for his production skills.
