benn Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Melina had heat on her for *supposedly* having an affair with Batista, not for "being shy". I was recounting what Foley said in his blog.
Mecca Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Melina had heat on her for *supposedly* having an affair with Batista, not for "being shy". Speaking of Batista, is it just me or does he dress and act like a total bitch........Only a guy his size can get away with dressing like that.
benn Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/mickfole...06foleyisblog11 This is a link to the Foley blog entry for anyone who's interested.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I think "In Your House: Beware of Dog" would have been a better title for this show, since it was apparently the drizzling shits, nobody watched it, and EVERYONE LOVES $39.95 DQs.
Jaxxson Mayhem Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Flair to Melina... "I'll kill you too you stupid bitch!"... HAHAHHAHAHAH Classic
iggymcfly Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I actually kind of wish I'd gone and watched Summerslam now. What turned me off was Hogan and DX taking up two of the main event slots, and the fact that it was "reported" everywhere that Cena was going to beat Edge. I didn't think I could stand sitting through the last hour if all three of those were going to happen there. Reading the results though, it sounds like Flair/Foley was excellent (which I really did want to see), and I would have loved to see Edge pin Cena's gay ass. Of course, if I'd gone to the bar and watched the show, I might not have played the poker tournament I played online tonight (I think it started at 8 or 9), and I'd be $9000 poorer, so I guess it's good I skipped it.
iggymcfly Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Yeah, thanks. It's my second biggest cash ever. I actually had a chance to get $17,000 if I got first instead of second, so I was pissed off for a half hour or so when I lost, but I'm pretty happy overall. After I won, I started getting drunk by myself (too late to go out), so I'm in an extra good mood right now.
benn Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 The SummerSlam replay just finished here and my cable decided to cooperate this time. What stuck out most to me was that Edge/Cena was a really good match and totally deserved the main event slot over DX/McMahons. Edge has put on some really good PPV matches this year. Vs Foley at WM, the tag match at ONS, vs RVD at Vengeance, and now vs Cena at SummerSlam.
mfn Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Edge carried Cena through that match, and what I loved most about the crowd, was that they were shitting all over Cena. Sure, the little girlies and marks were cheering for him, but overrall, I heard more "Cena sucks" chants than anything supporting him.
Wrestlefreak Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Summerslam was decent. Edge/Cena was the best match of the night(Cena got semi-booed, and Edge produced another great PPV match). Foley/Flair was also good. Even though Smackdown is far better than Raw, Booker/Batista was sloppy and had a messed up finish. Chavo/Rey was average. Show/Sabu was also mediocre. Orton/Hogan was crap. DX/McMahons was good(I liked the pre-match beatdown) And the finish was cool. Not surprisingly,(since this PPV focused heavily on Raw) WWE was able to rise above the crap they've been putting out on Raw every week, and actually put on decent Raw matches. A decent PPV, even though Booker/Batista was dissappointing.
Guest Overworked Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Im wondering why this whole Foley Melina thing is much of a debate? Im hoping most of you have been watching wrestling before the Birth of the Austin Era alla WM14. If you ever followed Mick Foley through his incarnations all the characters he portrays were deranged. That said, the insanity could manifest and cause attachments that make no sense whatsoever. Both his feuds and those he tried to be friends with seem to be things that just appear. Mick's friendship to the Rock, him trying to impress and befriend Mr.McMahon, calling Paul Bearer Uncle Paul, Calling Bischoff uncle Eric when he was in ECW. Even after the King of the Deathmatch tournament when he and Terry Funk just beat and cut each other into ribbons with the exploding barbwire boards, after the match Cactus was still shouting out for Terry, as if he wanted a hug. His attachment to Melina shouldn't really be examined all that closely for its pretty much the same action he did with others in the past. The difference being is that Mick Foley in character is a twitching derrange Psychopath that you want probably very calm and happy. If anything this will lead to Marlina betraying Mick, and she and Nitro siding with Ric Flair. Which is the usual ending to Mick trying to attach himself to anyone (outside the Rock)
EricMM Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I'm wondering if this is over or not. Yes, I agree, from what I heard (I did not watch SSlam) that this has the fingerprints of a Foley booked story. If they can pull off that he did to Flair what Edge did to him before, then maybe they can do some sort of double turn or SOMETHING like that. But I'm not sure, that, as has been stated, seems too too deep for modern WWE. Mick should definitley have the opportunity to book if this is what he can come up with.
Black Lushus Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 from 411, ripped off from PWI JBL's commentary apparently upset many people within the company last night, especially his comments about Eddie Guerrero falling off the wagon. and the angles themselves aren't pissing anyone off?
bob_barron Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 ::Batista going for the Batista Bomb:: Cole: You've felt this move many times! Bradshaw: ....shut up. Bradshaw's awesome
Hawk 34 Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 JBL makes a comment alluding to his friendship with Eddie (which goes against JBL's character as well) and gets heat for it. I guess he should have added "But he's in hell now" and things would have been okay.
packwingfn Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I was at the show last night and the crowd was defnitely 50/50 on Cena. Of course the girls and marks were for cena while the Smarks were against him. I had a lot of fun during that match.
what Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I guess we're just divided between those who think Melina distracted from the feud and those who think she added another dimension to it. I think it was well done and you're not going to change my mind just by pointing out that Melina is a slut and bitching about soap opera-like booking. They totally fucked it up on every level. The whole Melina aspect is dumb, in my opinion. But if they were gonna really show that Flair was an animal and Foley had brought out the worst in him, they should have had Flair drive the bat into Melina's back after Foley quit. That would have been good. That would have made Melina's involvement worth it. But having her throw in the towel for Foley just makes him look like a pussy. It'd have been better to just have them fighting without the girl though.
Lil' Bitch Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Chavo / Rey - Good opener, glad Chavo won. Sabu / Show - good match Hogan / Orton - Hogan should have jobbed, period. This match just showed how much of a complete asshole he is. Flair / Foley - Great match, but I hated the finish. Yes, I understood the story they were telling, but that doesn't mean I have to like or agree with it. Batista / Booker - Such a letdown match. DX / McMahon - Some of the most BORING shit I've ever seen. Edge / Cena - I know people are happy Edge retained, but having Cena job in his hometown in the main event of the PPV, I'm sorry that's bullshit. So overall, a few good things, but this PPV was a HUGE letdown. Hell, even GAB last month was better than this. Note to WWE creative: Try actually putting some effort into making a PPV worth $40 rather than relying on the name to sell.
Guest Frank_Nabbit Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 So did Booker dead weight to make Batista's powerbomb look bad?
Guest Frank_Nabbit Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 BTW.... I had a perma-grin on during the Hogan match, and the bar was going nuts for him. I marked out like a little bitch for the pose down and my buddy asked "How does this old fuck still get cheered?" I just smiled and said "CAUSE HE'S AWESOME"
FroGG_NeaL Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 I missed the Batista bomb, I was at my girl's house watching it, did Batista fuck up the sit down part like he did on SmackDown!?
benn Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 He couldn't flip Booker up onto his shoulders at first and instead of letting go and hitting him with something and then trying again, he just held the waistlock while Booker flailed around for a few seconds until they got their shit together. It looked to me like Batista did the move just before Booker was ready for it and then Booker dead weighted because he expected Batista to drop him.
FroGG_NeaL Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 heh. On SD friday, he bombed Sylvan in a squash and his ass hit after Sylvan. It looked akward.
FroGG_NeaL Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Awesome. I'm gonna have to DL that to see that one part of that match. I love seeing Batista fuck up * because of his ego, and overall dickishness. He reminds me of Goldberg to a lesser degree. *As long as he doesn't kill somebody in the process of the botch. I wish he would use the Clothes line of death more often. His beatdown on Mark Henry would have been perfect. But still, I give it up to those two, that was one cool motherfuckin' beatdown. And Henry took those chairshots like a fucking MAN.
FroGG_NeaL Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Goddammit. I meant to say stairshots. The chair shots were sick, but those stair shots were probably the most brutal I've seen.
