This is addition by subtraction for the Diamondbacks. Carlos Quentin is a superior player to Shawn Green, right now. He'll take over right field and perform better, and the D'backs are no longer stuck.

True. But, they didn't get a ton of financial relief out of the deal, though.

Now I'm pissed I didn't go to that game tonight, but seeing Pujols go off only to have Los Dos Carlos' take it back was awesome, even if it was from the comfort of my living room.

It happens every time the Cardinals win one. Of course, Mike Shannon says it every single time.

I hate it more when he says "SWING AND A HOMERUN! GET UP BABY GET UP!" If you know it's a homerun, why are you shouting at it to "get up"?

Hey Hawk34 we're 1 game behind now, figures we'd run into Oswalt though tomorrow, we broke him once this year if we focus we can do it again.

Lohse was in fine form tonight, and getting 3 hits too? Hopefully this night wasn't a fluke an we've got another comfortable starter in the line-up

Beltran with a two-run walkoff homerun! Mets win 8-7!

God, what a great game that was.

I'm looking for your boys to sweep the Cards, keep it up.

As a Mets fan the last thing we want is for the Cards to end up winning the WC, and Pujols to potentially win that series by himself, so how does a split sound?

You people are acting like the Astros are out of the race. They're...only...7...games...back...in...the Wild...card. With 36 games to go? Oh boy...

Let's go Rangers~!

No. You're acting like the Astros were ever IN the race :asshole2:

You've proven yourself to be a complete "New York"-centric jackass, so anything I say is not addressed to you. :asshole2:

Now respond with something dumb like how the sports team from your state is performing better than my state so I'm obviously inferior to you.

Apparently the Mets are interested in trading for Moises Alou despite the acquisition of Shawn Green. According to Metsblog.com, Lastings Milledge has fallen so out of favor that he will probably not make the postseason roster. Plus Cliff Floyd might be hurt more than previously thought.

Milledge WISHES he had the skills of Melky Cabrera. :D

I understand Milledge has a lot better upside, But I think there about the same age, and Melky has shown he has the patience to be successful in the majors, and the hiting ability. Milledge obviously has more power, but he has no patience from what I've seen of him, and he hasn't been as succesful as Melky.

Um, wow. His performance thus far hasn't been great, admittedly, but I didn't think management was that low on him. Maybe his attitude is rubbing them the wrong way.

And Cliff Floyd being more injured than expected doesn't surprise me in the slightest. If I didn't know better, I'd think his body consisted solely of peanut brittle.

The Cubs are only 13 games out. You know I really like their team. Neifi Perez is really good. Or was, until he was traded. We got super value for him. I may be crazy, but they only need to win 20 straight games to get the WC and I think they can do it. Just need to pitch. And hit. And not lose. Also, my Cubbies brought up Freddie Bynum. He's batting like .200, but he's a great team player, and I really like him.

Theres hope for the Orioles next year...ugh..next year..next year..its always next year...

Bedard/Cabrera/Loewen/Benson/??? will seriously be one of the top rotations in baseball and Nick Markakis will probably hit .300 and 25 HRs. He's found his power stroke in August after improving his batting average every month..

Its just ashame its the same old get your hopes up for next year routine..

So does A-Rod, it looks like :P

Sox lose again. Manny pinch hit in the 9th (after being coddled by Francona in the dugout, it looks like) and didn't look hurt. Like I said, he probably was pissed after his big weekend got the team bupkis and sulked all day.

No, K'ing with RISP is nothing new for him.

WHY THE FUCK IS VILLONE STILL PITCHING!?!?

edit: I don't even care that we lost, its unexcusable that Villone with how much hes pitched latley was still in the game.

Clueless Joe didn't want to kill the bullpen anymore after that rough weekend and long road trip. I am not upset that Villone was left in the game. What gets to me is that a shitty has been like Beltre hits two homeruns off of the Yankees and gets 4 rbi's.

Oh well...Yanks lose, Sox lose. & I'll be surprised if Seattle can win many more against the Yanks. Villone pitched well last night, except for the walkoff. It reminded me of Stanton, late last year.

People are retarded. They've got a poll on ESPN right now about the NL MVP and Beltran is actually getting more votes than Pujols. They also had these three retarded beat writers making arguments with absolutely no logic behind them on Cold Pizza making a consensus that Ryan Howard was the MVP. It was like the special ed version of Around the Horn.

Beltran is more deserving of the MVP than Pujols right now. The Cards might not even make the playoffs at this rate, and the Mets can lock up the division in a few weeks.

Pujols is the MVP. He's the best hitter in the league by a mile, and even though Beltran plays a difficult defensive position and plays it very well, it's not enough to make him a more deserving candidate than Albert. If Pujols had the kind of talent surrounding him that Beltran does, the Cards would be 15 up on the Reds right now.

I'd fully support Beltran for MVP. He's just slightly behind Pujols in VORP, is a more efficient base stealer, plays better defense at a tougher position and his team is running away with the division. I'm not saying it's a no-brainer, but he has every bit the case for MVP that Pujols does.
