Toxxic Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 I'll start doing this fairly soon with a view to getting voting going around Genesis time - start thinking about who and what you might want to nominate for all the awards. No, I'm not going to post a list of all the categories now. If you search on here you should find last year's, and if not... you'll have to wait.
Smartly Pretty Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 For the lazy: The Jayson Grant Memorial Trophy - For Wrestler of the Year The Divefire Memorial Trophy - For Comeback Wrestler of the Year The Pay Per View Match of the Year Award The Non-PPV Match of the Year Award The Feud of the Year Award The Jay Dawg Improvement Award - For Most Improved Wrestler The Axis Memorial Trophy - For Most Under-appreciated Wrestler The Rane Memorial Trophy - For Most Impressive Career The Fallen Tag Team Trophy - For Tag Team of the Year The Midnight Carnival Cup - For Stable of the Year The Ace of Clubs Trophy - For Heel of the Year The Grand Slam Trophy - For Face of the Year The Cyclone Comet Trophy - For Promo Writer of the Year The William Hearford & Toxxic Trophy - For Rookie of the Year The Nathaniel Kibagami Trophy - For Promo of the Year The Hville Thugg & Edwin MacPhisto Cup of Champions - For Best World Champion The Fallout ICTV Champion of the Year Award The Thoth US Champion of the Year Award (I guess this one won’t appear this year ) The Andrew Blackwell International Champion of the Year Award The Grimedogg Hardcore Champion of the Year Award The El Luchadore Magnifico Cruiserweight Champion of the Year Award The Pay-Per-View Of The Year Award The Mayor McCheese Comedic Moment of the Year Award The Blazenwing Memorial Trophy - For “Tool” of the Year The Stubby P. Sly Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 I wonder if Spike will nominate himself in all categories again.
Toxxic Posted August 25, 2006 Author Report Posted August 25, 2006 He's perfectly entitled to. And don't forget he won a couple of those categories last year.
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Stryke for winner of everything, lolz.
Cuban Linx Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 Stryke for winner of everything, lolz. Clearly this opinion is the correct one.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Feud of the Year, Promo of the Year, Promo Writer of the Year, Best Heel, Most Under-appreciated, Most Improved. I nominate myself and everything I have ever done.
super_tigris Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 I guess I can hope for Rookie of the Year, though, that might be a stretch.
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 What about adding a category for a promo series? Either a group that help enhance an angle, or just a stand-alone series that are teh good. lolz. That might be just a ploy for my "After Hours on the SWF message board" promos, as well as my "Doomtopian History" thing, though I bet the aborted Clan promos, or Toxx's "Oh noes, Kibs, but wait, it's Not Kibs!" promos would destroy minez0rz, lollerz.
Toxxic Posted August 28, 2006 Author Report Posted August 28, 2006 Hmm, that's a possibility. I'll look into it, seeing as how I've hijacked these awards due to no-one else wanting to do them, and therefore now have sole control over EVERYTHING, down to and including taking bribes. If any of you would be sad enough to bribe someone on the basis of awards for a fictional wrestling federation, bribe away.
super_tigris Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Dude, I don't know. I've got a few gimme's here. I mean, The Axis for faction of the year. Man, those days were the shit. What about my monumental 48 day Cruiserweight Title reign with zero technical defenses? Man, I should have an award named after me for that accomplishment. How about my incredible tag team with Akira, and the eventual go-no-where break up that rocked the world of E-WRESTLING for eternity?! Give it up, I'm taking home at least 3 awards this year.
Toxxic Posted August 28, 2006 Author Report Posted August 28, 2006 Hey, you've got an argument for tag team of the year. You've got fuck all competition (or, more realistically, you're no worse than the competition). As for Stable of the Year, it's between you guys and Cucaracha Internacional.
Sly Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 What other tag teams were there this year outside of The New Doomtopians?
Ace309 Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Well, there were the Dead Precedents. And a pair of journeyman veterans who were mostly forgettable.
Golgo 13 Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Clearly Tom is talking about the team of JJ Johnson and MANSON.
super_tigris Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Spyon Two Skinny White Guys Flesh and Graps Asia Underground The New Doomtopians Landon and Maxx King Off the top of my head, those are the ones I know. The bottom five have held the tag titles. EDIT: Staunton and Rageheart? Not sure, they're sort of forgettable because I don't even really remember them.
Sly Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Staunton (JJ) and Rageheart (Dace) appeared for like... two or three matches before each character got (presumably) axed.
Toxxic Posted August 30, 2006 Author Report Posted August 30, 2006 Don't forget TKO. We had the longest reign I believe, even if we did fuck all with the belts because I was busy putting J3 over in singles matches.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 SpYon, mother fucker. And for feud of the year!
super_tigris Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Staunton (JJ) and Rageheart (Dace) appeared for like... two or three matches before each character got (presumably) axed. That'd be why they're forgettable, then. As for Spike. How's that 10K head start goin' for ya? (that's a joke, for the record, I don't intend that comment to turn into a flame war).
super_tigris Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Huh? TLC match. Apparently you wrote some 10k match...only to lose in a last minute ditch effort 7k-athon writing spree by me and Akira. Fuck, I suck at references. EDIT: And now Akira informs me Zyon wrote that match. Negate these posts.
Smartly Pretty Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Now that I think about it... It was just Zyon vs Cross. And then Spike and I ran with the fruits of their labors. High five, Spike. High motherfucking five.
Toxxic Posted August 30, 2006 Author Report Posted August 30, 2006 We'll name an award after Cross for forgetting what matches he and everyone else was in, maybe.
Smartly Pretty Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 *beats Spike in the only time they both show* OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
super_tigris Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 Not sure where I forgot who was in the match. It was a triple threat TLC match, the problem was that I remember Spike posting in the word count thread that they were turning in something that was 10k long. I kind of got on the horse and wrote 7k.
Toxxic Posted August 31, 2006 Author Report Posted August 31, 2006 So you don't want an award named after you? Fine.
