Bored Posted September 2, 2006 Author Report Posted September 2, 2006 ESPN on ABC? The hell? I already hate the new rule where the clock starts back up after a change of possession. Starting it back up after first downs is a good idea but this is overkill and will cost someone in a major game at some point. Idaho/Michigan State was fun. Idaho might actually be relevant in the WAC this year.

Edit: Hearing Dan Fouts doing play by play is just weird.
snuffbox Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 The old retarded guy on ESPN (hes doing the Penn St game right now...I dont remember his name) really needs to be put out to pasture.
Damaramu Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 Wow Ohio State looks really good so far. But Texas looked good too. So it'll be the experienced defense of Texas with an inexperienced QB against the experienced QB of Ohio State and the inexperienced defense of Ohio State. Ah hell I'm picking Ohio State. They've got more experience and leaders on offense and the defense is nasty even if it is young. It doesn't matter if the game is in Austin.
Damaramu Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 Wow. Nebraska is not looking impressive at all. Shall be a long long season for the north.
Bored Posted September 2, 2006 Author Report Posted September 2, 2006 Brad Nessler and Bob Griese is a perfectly acceptable two man announce crew. What in God's name would possess them to put Paul Maguire with them? Colorado is down 13-10 to Montana State in the 3rd.
Urban Warfare Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 Very pleased to hear Spurrier's reception. Not a single boo.
Damaramu Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 Man Dan Hawkins debut is not going good. Nebraska finally got their act together. And what's with the Big 12 adopting SEC scheduling practices? Like 4 out of the 12 teams are playing a division 1 school.
Bored Posted September 2, 2006 Author Report Posted September 2, 2006 It's all over in Boulder: Montana State 19, Colorado 10. Cal looks completely overmatched against the Vols and I'm loving it.
cabbageboy Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 I'm not exactly sure where the hype for Cal was coming from. They strike me as a team that would finish about 3rd in the Pac 10, hardly any sort of top 10 threat. Didn't their starting QB get injured before the season?
Bored Posted September 2, 2006 Author Report Posted September 2, 2006 Actually he got injured early in the season last year and that was part of the hype was having a healthy Nate Longshore. I was going to be happy with any sort of Cal loss here but this is turing into a humiliation for the entire nation to see. I couldn't ask for anymore... YESSSSSSSSSSSSS ANOTHER TOUCHDOWN FOR THE VOLS! 28-0. Game over.
Urban Warfare Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 35-0 Vols, this is just getting silly.
Slayer Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Brad Nessler and Bob Griese is a perfectly acceptable two man announce crew. What in God's name would possess them to put Paul Maguire with them? They had to do something with the leftover SNF guys! I just got back from going out of town for the day. What the hell happened in Tennessee
Bored Posted September 3, 2006 Author Report Posted September 3, 2006 You know when I first saw the "ESPN on ABC" crap for the regional timeslot today my only thought as to why they decided to do this was to make the new Saturday primetime timeslot to have an extra special feel to it and have it stand alone from the regional games. But nope tune in and it's just another fucking ESPN game. Laaaaaaaaaame.
CanadianChris Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Did ABC Sports just completely scrap their sports division and give everything to ESPN? I don't understand what's going on. I watched Rutgers' win over UNC earlier. The Heels aren't going anywhere with Dailey at QB. It was obvious why Nebraska wasn't concerned with him transferring. Rutgers is going to have a good season; they could even contend for the Big East title. That may be a bit of a reach, but they look like they're going to have a solid season.
Damaramu Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 And UAB takes off their uniforms to reveal....purple ones!? The hell!? It's an ambush! TCU is back for another upset!

CanadianChris Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 7-0 Yellow Jackets. The good thing is, we could stop the Irish hype machine in its tracks in the very first week of the season if Tech can pull the upset.
snuffbox Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Badgers don't look too bad...but, damn, the Big Ten is huge this year.
Damaramu Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 It's become painfully obvious watching this game that OU won't be able to do shit this year without Adrian Peterson.
Urban Warfare Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 The WSU-Auburn game is interesting, as WSU scores on a nice pass play to pull within 12.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Okay kiddies, did we underrated Tennessee, or did we overrate Cal?
Damaramu Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 OU survives the UAB experience and ONLY because of Adrian Peterson. However Paul Thompson played a lot better than most people thought he would and he played better than Bomar when Bomar was starting out last season. They'll be ok this season but at this point they lose to Oregon and lose to Texas.
Vern Gagne Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Why the hell did UAB punt with no timeouts left?
Black Lushus Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Nebraska's defense looked fantastic...but they better polish up that offense just a tad more before the USC game. They should have scored at least 2 more TDs earlier on but made some stupid mistakes. It's nice to see ND NOT manhandle Georgia Tech
