Guest InuYasha Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 I think Edge will do a "sick" gimmick since WWE.com ran a big story last Tuesday about how the water he was thrown into used to be heavily contaminated and is still really dirty. That reminds me of the WGTT calling in sick when Angle returned to SmackDown. Wrestlers calling in sick = the writers are hung over again. EFA.
Hawk 34 Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 So he's the only contender because he doesn't have a current storyline? Yeah, that makes sense. Carlito has been consistantly over and improving by leaps and bounds since the face turn, Carlito has the brighter future. That doesn't mean another title reign really does anything for Carlito. It doesn't do something for pretty much anyone right now.

I would perfer Carlito but hes not the one in this match. Hardy is, and between him and Orton. I would perfer Hardy over Orton anyday.
Hawk 34 Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 You are aware that #1 contenders match don't really have much validity, right? It's giving matches a reason for occuring.

Or when Commisioner Foley caught Christian faking sick to get out of a title defense against the Hardyz. God I hate that 'z' The best one when E/C were plotting an excuse to get out of a title defense against the APA, and decided on claiming they had genital warts. Except Foley was eavesdropping on their entire convo and made them fight anyway. "Think about it, no one's going to want to check us to see if we're telling the truth." "Yeah... Genital warts rule!" Foley: And genital warts do not rule. They're painful and humiliating. Or, so I've heard.

What I remember most about Foley catching Christian faking his illness was Foley's apparent cybernetic implants in his eyes that allowed his POV to become a camera shot for the PPV.
bob_barron Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 EFA. Shut up. That's actually not a bad idea
Guest NYankees Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 It's funny how Raw hasn't even started yet and this thread already has more posts than the Smackdown thread of last week.
Danville_Wrestling Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 You are aware that #1 contenders match don't really have much validity, right? It's giving matches a reason for occuring. And that's sad. Whatever happened to the good old days of announcers like Monsoon/Ventura elaborating on how if a wrestler lost they'd fall further down the rankings or the wrestlers were out there fighting for "the winner's money."
TheFranchise Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Paddle on a Pole Match and the IC #1 contenders match.. Is that all that's announced?
mfn Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Hardy should go over Orton and then work a program with Carlito/Nitro.
Danville_Wrestling Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 What a great way to start RAW with yet more recapping of the McMahon-DX feud.
Guest InuYasha Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Last week was a long trip through the decades. What's this week going to be?
Guest InuYasha Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 What a great way to start RAW with yet more recapping of the McMahon-DX feud. It could be worse. Oh, it is. Shane is out there.
Danville_Wrestling Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Guess we'll see a beatdown of McMahon in the hotel at 11.
The Amazing Rando Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Did Kane cash in his shot yet?
Danville_Wrestling Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Edge interrupted the promo 5 minutes too late.
Anakin Flair Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Ugh.. Edge interupting the first thing on the show is getting really old.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Crowd just couldn't care any less about this show. DX/Cena Vs. Edge/Umaga/Shane would be fun.
Guest InuYasha Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 So, we go from McMahon/DX to Edge/Cena. Wow, we've moved laterally to an old low.
The Amazing Rando Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 DX vs. Umaga, The Spirit Squad, Johnny Nitro, Shelton Benjamin, Cade & Murdoch, Shane McMahon, Test, Mike Knox, Rob Conway, and the Big Show in a 15 on 2 match.... Rob Conway takes the pin.
Danville_Wrestling Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 What's really sad is that JR says Cena is the #1 contender for Edge's title. What's even more sad, though, is that the ranks are so depleted I can't name a top contender other than Cena right now.
Quasar Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 I just noticed something. That arena is hella smaller than most arenas that they run RAW in.
Quasar Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 YES! Send Cena to SmackDown and off my TV.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 OOH Cena has a contract for Smackdown.. too bad Cena wins..
Danville_Wrestling Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Looks like the WWE tradition of having superstars lose in their hometowns is going to continue at Unforgiven. What the hell is up with this company doing that? Worse than that he's going to lose in HIS specialty match.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 LMAO, "End of Career Match" is now "Loser Forced to go to Smackdown!"
