Guest NYankees Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Who do you think is going to win?
Guest NYankees Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Wayne Brady has got to be the biggest Oreo in the United States.
Hawk 34 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 If it didn't involve Jericho, I wouldn't care about this low budget A.I. I still don't care but I have to see Carlton sing and dance again. I do like how they act these performers are really "big" names but aren't. That's XENA? Blonde works.
DrVenkman PhD Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 I hate shows like this but have curiosity in seeing Jericho, so it's on. And in one of those "hate to admit it" things, I like this song Carly Patterson is singing.
DrVenkman PhD Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Leah is one hot 45 year old. Jericho is the WWE champ?
Hawk 34 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Leah is one hot 45 year old. Jericho is the WWE champ? I wonder how many bad wrestling puns Brady has in store for Jericho.
Hawk 34 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 I think Brady read through the wrong bio. Jericho, looks like a 80's boy band reject.
DrVenkman PhD Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Jericho is awful at this... so awful CityTV in Canada had to stop the broadcast.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Not really Chris' style of music.
treble Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Jericho is awful at this... so awful CityTV in Canada had to stop the broadcast. That was funny.
Hawk 34 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Jericho is out of his element here doing pop country, he needs to stick with covering Iron Maiden.
DrVenkman PhD Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Not really Chris' style of music. No doubt... he even said that beforhand. Whoever that last judge was summed it up well.
Hawk 34 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 You gotta imagine Jericho is thinking "I performed in front of 100,000 people with Fozzy and rocked the house...and they are making me do country ballads. It sure beats jobbing to Cena again and again and again"
Conspiracy_Victim Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Here's hoping he gets through this round and gets a more suitable song next week. I've just been switching it on and off waiting for Jericho, so I have no idea if anyone's actively sucked. I did see that Jay (Jai?) from Queer Eye got a standing O, so he's probably the early favorite. Being a Broadway vet prepares you for performing on the stage I suppose.
Hawk 34 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 To be honest, I see Cheech Marin winning.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Hal Sparks surprised me. Didn't think he had it in him.
Hawk 34 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Would it hurt the judges or the producers to actually do a little background checking because they keep going "well, you should front a rock band". I liked Jericho's response "Yeah, thats a good idea".
Downhome Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Why in the hell would Jericho even agree to be on this show in the first place? I don't see him getting much out of this at all...other than looking horrible and made a joke of. From PWInsider: CELEBRITY DUETS IS NOT JERICHO by Buck Woodward @ 10:06:00 PM on 8/29/2006 Well, you can forget about Chris Jericho following in Stacy Keibler's reality show footsteps. On the debut episode of FOX's Celebrity Duets the former Undisputed Champion was the first of the eight contestants to be eliminated from the show. For this first episode, each contestant performed twice, and then a panel of celebrity judges (Marie Osmond, Little Richard, David Foster) picked one contestant to be eliminated, and they selected Jericho. Starting next week, viewers will be able to vote for who stays and who goes, so there was no chance for Jericho's fanbase to make a difference here. Chris Jericho performed a ballad with Lee Ann Womack during the first hour of the show, then sang the Stevie Wonder classic "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" with Peter Frampton in the second hour. During his second evaluation, David Foster complimented Jericho and said "You should be fronting a rock band". Jericho replied that it was a "good idea", smirking as he did so (probably over the realization that Foster didn't know that he DOES front a rock band). After being informed of his elimination, Jericho commented that if they ever do a show called "Bad Celebrity Robot Dancing" he would be back.
DrVenkman PhD Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 I didn't realize Judge #3 was being serious, I thought that was playful "in joke" banter. Too bad too, from what I saw it seemed Jericho did much better in his second go. I think the lame first song killed him out of the gate, leaving him unable to reach his true potential. Who would do such a thing to him?
Lil' Bitch Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Even in TV shows, Jericho gets held down.
Ginger Snaps Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Sorry to hear Jericho lost. What did Xena look like?
DrVenkman PhD Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Sorry to hear Jericho lost. What did Xena look like? Sorta
Hawk 34 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 She looked good. The star of the show is Carlton and The Queer Eye guy and I'm sure Cheech will be the fan favorite. Jericho really came off bad tonight, not just with the first performence but his banter was atrocious, he looked nervous and his wardrobe choice was straight from 1988. He wasn't in his element as this show is based on country, pop and old ballads. He'd been better suited for ROCK STAR since I think he would qualify for that show. Stacy was in her element with dancing, Jericho wasn't. Back to Sci-Fi movies and TBWE.
Ravenbomb Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 if Jericho ever goes back to wrestling, this show is gonna be his "Stand Back" clip that other wrestlers will show to make fun of him
The Niggardly King Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 This is pretty bad for Jericho when you look at it as him being away from wrestling for what has it been now? A year? This is his first big tv appearance on a nationwide audience since then, and instead of coming off as the super charismatic guy that he should have been, he looked out of his element, a bit nervous, had one bad performance, and was dropped in the first round. Not a good night for him. Though it looks as though Carlton is the only one who really cares about this thing... that humours me.
MDH257 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Wayne Brady has got to be the biggest Oreo in the United States. Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?
Jericholic82 Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 this sucked, It seemed as if they wanted to gte rid of him since he was the least big star (in their mind anyhow) on the show. I mean they made him sing country and stevie wonder? UGHHHH He was out of his element here, I guess he figured if Stacy could get some kind of acting gigs from this, then so could he, he really should have plugged Fozzy though. Or comes out during the 2nd week show and read his list of 1001 songs he can sing better than Cheech
