Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted September 2, 2006 Well, this has snuck up on us rather quickly. I know it's only the Sunday before; rosters will be cut down soon, and the players who most of us don't care about in the preseason will be gone and the final depth charts will be set. Thursday we've got the Dolphins playing at the Steelers at 8:30 to kick off the season. You've also got Atlanta at Carolina to kick off the NFC South race, Bengals at Chiefs, an interesting matchup between the Cowboys at the Jags (WILL T.O. SHOW?!), the Manning Bowl on Sunday at the Meadowlands and then Vikings-Redskins and Chargers-Raiders to kick off Monday Night Football on ESPN. And, of course, my eyes will be glued to Green Bay getting spanked at home by Chicago, but nonetheless it'll be a fun one to watch considering the teams involved. Some good games there, but there's a lot of uncertainty especially considering all the changes this offseason- and there have been a LOT- so that should make this one interesting. Full schedule: Thursday, 9/07: Miami at Pittsburgh Sunday, 9/10: early afternoon (1pm) games Atlanta at Carolina New Orleans at Cleveland Seattle at Detroit Philadelphia at Houston Cincinnati at Kansas City Buffalo at New England Denver at St. Louis Baltimore at Tampa Bay N.Y. Jets at Tennessee late afternoon (3:15pm) games San Francisco at Arizona Chicago at Green Bay Dallas at Jacksonville Sunday Night Football Indianapolis at N.Y. Giants Monday, 9/11: Monday Night Football DOUBLEHEADER 7pm: Minnesota at Washington 10:15pm: San Diego at Oakland DISCUSS.
Guest Arnold_OldSchool Report post Posted September 2, 2006 Packersnews.com Nearly 7% of fans feel they will have a record of 10-6 or greater. I voted for 5 wins

Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 2, 2006 No. It's only for week 1, IIRC.
Guest Paul Report post Posted September 2, 2006 No. It's only for week 1, IIRC. Yeah. They did it ONCE last season too. Week one, Colts vs Giants...it's coming.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 2, 2006 I predict NE wins 48-0.
Guest Paul Report post Posted September 2, 2006 Nah. The Bills can at least rush for a TD or two. Losman! Don't lose the faith.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 2, 2006 Losman continues to slowly improve. But, the Bills have looked like shit all preseason. They're still "young and improving". I think Buffalo will be decent at the end of the year when their schedule is more forgiving. But, they're getting killed early on.
Guest Paul Report post Posted September 2, 2006 I'm afraid the Giants may get killed early on too, unless Eli can beat big bro, week one. And make things RIGHT in Seattle week 3. Giants have a tough schedule. I think Losman will start to find his groove this year.

Guest Paul Report post Posted September 2, 2006 Isn't Rogers possibly getting cut? Or did get cut? I can't remember.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2006 Did. As well as Omar Jacobs in Pitt. Great move leaving early there Omar.

The Williams boys? Isn't Roy Williams like awesome or something as an NFL receiver? Or is he hurt?

fazzle 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2006 God, it's so hard for me to get hyped for this season, knowing how shitty the Bills are going to be. I'll be happy with 6-
razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2006 Roy and Mike Williams were both 1st round draft picks for the Lions with the mindset that they could help make Joey Harrington look good but the reality of it was that they caught the injury bug and bad habits from Charles Rogers. Roy Williams is awesome and being the team leader in TDs shows that he can be the go to receiver but according to KFFL and Yahoo "Detroit Lions WR Roy Williams (groin) was held out of practice Wednesday, Aug. 30." And we all know Roy > Mike.
Guest Paul Report post Posted September 2, 2006 If Roy can stay healthy, he'll be the real deal one day.

the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2006 Hank Fraley traded to the Browns for an undisclosed 2008 draft pick. Is that center number 7 or 8 for them this offseason?
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2006 I think that's #9 honestly.
Guest Paul Report post Posted September 2, 2006 Domanick Davis out for the year Great. He was a RB in one of my fantasy leagues. Well, Houston should have the #1 pick again!
razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2006 Why did Houston pick Williams #1 again?
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2006 They still have Vernand Morency and a North/South runner in UFA Wali Lundy as a RBBC. Houston can easily see one of those guys emerge as a starter ala Terrell Davis coming out of nowhere in Denver.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2006 Why did Houston pick Williams #1 again? They picked Williams because their defense was actually a hell of a lot worse than its offense. That and it was originally thought Davis knee wasn't that bad. But yeah, even I'm thinking that Houston made a mistake by passing on Bush.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2006 Patriots picked up WR Doug Gabriel from the Raiders for an undisclosed draft pick
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2006 I love fans sometimes. All preseason it has been "oh our RBs are injury prone, what happens if/when one goes down". Then the Eagles keep 5 RBs (one who is going to be the PR and another who will be the KR) and all of a sudden it is "oh those morons, why are we keeping 5RBs instead of keeping Darnerian freaking McCants". Maybe the FO knows that the RBs are injury prone and want to keep something just in case. Christ they conned a draft pick out of Seattle for Josh Parry (is Seattle's GM a drunk?). Maybe they can get the benefit of the doubt today.

razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2006 Why did Houston pick Williams #1 again? They picked Williams because their defense was actually a hell of a lot worse than its offense. That and it was originally thought Davis knee wasn't that bad. But yeah, even I'm thinking that Houston made a mistake by passing on Bush. Picking Williams because they were afraid of the potential holdout from Bush and refusing to trade down is the dumbest thing a GM not named Matt Millen did during the draft. I would of chosen Vince Young who could of been promoted as the next great running QB and local hero. He was hot off of winning the College National Championship where he was the shining star of the game, that alone could of sold alot of season tickets and sky boxes for the Houston Texans.
