Downhome Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 I can't help but wonder who had a part in putting this match together.
The Amazing Rando Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Orton telling the ref "You Can't See Me" was actually great.
RonL21 Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 I cringe everytime Lita takes a bump like that....
Boon Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 God damn, Trish Stratus can take some bumps from men.
The Amazing Rando Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Cena vs. Orton next week at the 10 spot.
Hawk 34 Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 I worry that this match is the start of the inevitable Cena/Orton program.
Downhome Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Orton telling the ref "You Can't See Me" was actually great. Â Yeah, that was great.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Orton doing the Cena hand gesture = Cena/Orton at Sur..uh..whatever the name of the RAW PPV is in November.
RonL21 Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Poll...When was the last time RAW had a main event that good...
The Amazing Rando Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Orton doing the Cena hand gesture = Cena/Orton at Sur..uh..whatever the name of the RAW PPV is in November. Â Survivor Series is in November... Cena vs. Orton... TABOOOOSDAY~!

RonL21 Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 God damn, Trish Stratus can take some bumps from men. She's def one of the best bump takers ive seen...
Downhome Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 From PWInsider: Â As noted last week on PWInsider.com, Cryme Tyme are Ohio Valley Wrestling developmental talents The Neighborhoodies. WWE filed for trademarks related to the act last week. Â Are they any good?
Guest GeeseGeese Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 I must say that was one of the better Raw's that have taken place this year. The Main Event got a lot of TV time and there was limited DX/McMahon garbage... Â Also I think the Cryme Time gimmick is awesome. If used in the right way, it cold seriously attract more African American fans.

RonL21 Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 I think Next week's RAW will make it two weeks in a row of decent television...Vince knows he cant give that MSG crowd a shitty show..
Hawk 34 Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 I think Next week's RAW will make it two weeks in a row of decent television...Vince knows he cant give that MSG crowd a shitty show.. Â Which is why he booked himself and his other son in the main event...

Open the Muggy Gate Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 I think that was one of the better RAW's we've seen in a long damn time. The McMahon stuff was kept fairly minimum, a hot main event, great mic work, Maria watching paint, Super Crazy getting a warm welcome and a push on RAW, and a Trevor Murdoch sighting! Great show.

They're playing up the stereotype. That's nothing worse than I've seen in the videos of rap stars the kids watch.
Hawk 34 Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 For anyone to protray themselves as "offended" by the CrymeTyme gag is simply ludicrious. Â As far as conventional parodies, it was fairly tame compared to the type of stuff done on Chapelle's Show (generally praised by the black community) and other sketch based shows. Â They had good stuff in OVW and are pretty solid at being a Gangstas type tag team. There are numerous things worse then the CrymeTyme duo.

It was meant to be stereotypical. Get the bug out of your ass. If you enjoy Chris Rock, or Chapelle, or any thug black rappers then you're a hippocrite.

Actually I don't...you would be surprise that most black people look down on stuff like that..including ME!! It's racist and dumb.....can a "black" wrestler debut in wrestling without having some racially stupid gimmick attached!!!  Some of you may be surprise but I'm not one of your "gangsta" black guys!!!
Guest JustPassinBy Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 The parts of Raw I saw tonite were complete garbage: Â ---Ric Flair making out with Maria just repulsed me. What demographic is the WWE shooting for by having a grandfather make out with a young chic? All it does is repulse the people that watch. Old people in any type of sexual scenes are gross. Especially kissing....Sick. Â --CrymeTyme is retarded. Its not as offensive as its just stupid. Â --The tag division should just go away. Vikings, Retards, Cheer Queers, and then just boring nothingness (Cade Murdoch). ugh... Â I can safely say I only watch Raw for Edge. If he loses, I'll have no other reason to watch unless NWO comes back. Â Big Thumbs down for Raw from me, even though the crowd was great tonite.

Some of you may be surprise but I'm not one of your "gangsta" black guys!!!   I'm hispanic and if I got offended by everytime WWE played a latin wrestler stereotypically i'd go crazy. (eddie, Armando, Carlito, Mexicools)  Last time I checked Booker, Shelton and LAshley DON'T have a "racially stupid gimmick"
zyon Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Pretty good Raw. Jeff Hardy put on a decent/good match for the second straight week in a row and actually looks motivated. As a heel Orton does a lot of small things well and I don't think he gets enough credit for that. Main event was good and the lack of DX was appreciated. Really there was nothing offensive about Raw tonight at all. I was quite surprised by that.
Hasbeen1 Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 I'm in the South and I know Murdoch is a character. So were Hillbilly Jim, etc.

Some of you may be surprise but I'm not one of your "gangsta" black guys!!!   If they want a black demographic, bring back the original "Gangstas"- New Jack and his partner. Have them just be bad asses that legitmately kick ass and do sick spots.  Bad comedy (Crymetyme) will never get over bc #1. Almost everyone hates 'niggas' and doesnt find that stuff funny #2. If Cena gets boo'ed, just wait till this gimmick hits. It'll be 100 times worse.
Hawk 34 Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Considering that WWE's actual biggest demographic is the 34+ males, it isn't a bad move to have Flair at his age still being protrayed as a ladies man. Â Everyone knows some old guy that can always charm the ladies and that is exactly what Ric Flair is. Maria isn't banging Flair, she's just being a flirt with a charming guy. It's fairly conventional and it suits the demographic that Raw actually reaches to. Â That brings about the question of why WWE uses cheap comedy skits involving DX? It's no secret that the primary market for WWE is those of low income and low education. This appeals to those types. Â CrymeTyme is your paint by numbers parody of a stereotype that has been consistantly mocked since the influx of "Gangsta" themed movies back in the early 90's. This is hardly a offensive gimmick as WWE has done much worse. Â The black community has clearly always supported this type of characterization as these types of movies, music and television has done very well over the years. Â The real problem is that Vince missed the boat on this as he usually does.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 If your offended by it, you'll soon get desensitized. Look at Eugene.
