Enigma 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2006 I thought this was pretty funny. In the Top 51 Offenders of WWE Magazine, the following question was posed: "Which of the following was not a result of the curse that Papa Shango placed on The Ultimate Warrior in the summer of 1992?" A) Explosive diarrhea B) Vomiting C) Black goo oozing from his face D) Diminishing star power
spman 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2006 Actually, S_D, I don't the Magazine in front of me as I left it at work, but I think I pasted it wrong. The answer for D. should read "Beginning of his descent into obscurity", but it's still funny nonetheless.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2006 I thought the word "belt" was banned from the announcers' lexicon long time ago, when it was decreed they be called Superstars instead of wrestlers? or ECW Extremists (ironic that in his "shoot" on raw Joey Styles made a big deal of wrestling and wrestlers becoming dirty words when he now proudly says extremists and plugs Cenas movie)

UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2006 Triple H was interviewed in the October 2006 issue of WWE Magazine where he criticizes the internet once again, Hulk Hogan, and more. He commented on losing to the Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania 12, the new DX, and more. Below are some of the interesting quotes of the piece: Q: Once and for all, say something to the wrestling websites that claim you're nothing but a power-mad, backstage dictator. Triple H - I haven't read a dirt sheet in 10 years. And that's the damn truth. Yes I'm in a top position. Yes I'm married to the boss's daughter. Yes I sit in production meetings. But, at the end of the day, there is only one person with the stroke in this business. And that's Vince McMahon. If he doesn't like something , whether it's my idea or not, it's not going to happen. I want guys like John Cena around. I want to bring new guys up and help make them. People always accuse me of not wanting to drop the belt to a guy. That's complete crap. I didn't drop the belt to RVD because no one asked me to drop it to RVD. I've yet to see Hulk Hogan lose to anybody. He wrestles once every 6 months, and it doesn't matter if you're the biggest name in active competition today, he's not going to lose to you. There was suppose to be a Hogan/Michaels 2, and Hogan was supposed to lose. All of a sudden his knee starting "bugging" him. Q: Since you were poised for a big break, does your embarrassing loss to the Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania 12 in 1996 still haunt you to this day? Triple H - Do people really think I thought I was going to beat the Ultimate Warrior? The fact of the matter is that he was a completely unprofessional dipsh*t. (Shawn Michaels Interjects: Don't talk about me like that!) That's what pisses me off about the match, not the fact that I lost. Triple H made one more reference to the internet: "One more thing for the internet haters.... It all stems from people who have opinions about the business they've never been involved in. And they're the same people waiting outside for my autograph after the show."

If HHH wants to compare himself not loosing to Hogan not loosing, he needs to look at this way. Hogan only wrestles every once in awhile, and currently there is no one on the WWE roster Hogan should pass that torch over to. HHH on the other hand, gets what he wants weather he wants to admit or not and its not like HHH wrestles once in a great while. He's the main focus of WWE's #1 show every week, him dropping the belt or giving someone a clean win is something he could do all the time, but doesn't do it. There's a big differance between himself and Hogan.

I Doubt any RAW/SD wrestler would go "Hey..I wanna wrestle for the ECW Title at WM". Plus, I dont want any ECW matches at WM. Hopefully they'll keep ECW off the PPVs once they get their own PPVs but Im guessing they'll probably keep doing an ECW match on the Big 4 PPVs.

mfn 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2006 WWE 24/7. Should I get it?? I've been wondering for a while now about whether or not I should subscribe. If any of you are a subscriber, can you tell me if it's worth it or not? The money isn't the issue, it's just whether or not there is good programming on it, and since WWE TV has been close to awful lately, I'm not sure how I should get it. I was going to post a new thread, but I figured it'd just be easier to ask right here.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2006 I got it last week and I enjoy it. Today I watched the 90 minute AWA special (which someone told me was part of a series of PPVs on DirecTV in 2002 - it's hosted by Mean Gene and seems to be under a banner of "Classic Wrestling"). I've been enjoying watching back-to-back Raw/Nitro as well. They are up to nWo winning War Games 96 right now, and the next new one will feature the Raw debut of Razor and Diesel II. It was also interesting watching Vader (Bullpower Leon White) sqaush The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sagonovitch in wrestling tights).
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2006 24/7 is well worth it...at just 7 bucks a month...definitely get it...as Venkman pointed out, there is some good good stuff on this week. You get PPVs about 3 months after they aired, so you can just record htem rather than buy the DVD. They throw in about 3 other old PPVs each month so you can hopefully find something you missed...they show some pretty solid MSG shows as well as house shows at other venues. Get it, it's well worth it!

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2006 Was it here or hidden in "General Wrestling"? Either way that seems to answer the question of whether or not it deserves a spin-off thread. I suppose it is worth noting that (from the impression I get) the Comcast deal could possibly get more people to be aware of it, though.
Aero 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2006 I just ordered 24/7 today. I'm watching the Monday Night War for 9/16/96 right now... Glacier promo is on during Nitro. So far my only complaint is the music editing. Watching Summerslam 96, the Godwinns' music is edited to the generic barnyard music. Nothing huge, just a minor annoyance I can live with. Taker666 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2006 You know, one thing that bothers me about ECW being involved in the Co-Brand PPVs is now you have all three brands trying to cram their top feuds into one card it would be a hassle putting guys like Lashley, Kennedy ,Finlay,Umaga, Nitro etc.. on to one of the big four PPVs. guys that deserve to be on that card. it was really fucked up that all those talents I named didn't even have a match at Summerslam, espeically Lashley and Kennedy. ECW should not be apart of the Co brand PPVs anymore IMO.

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2006 Why? ECW is built no differently then Smackdown and Raw. What should be done is more wrestlers and less non-wrestlers being the focus. Also Raw and Smackdown needs to be even. That was the reason SD was under represented at Slam.
