Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Report post Posted November 12, 2006 There are plans in the pipeline for WWE to stage a live PPV from the UK at some point over the next 12-18 months. According to several sources I've spoken to over the past few days, dates in Autumn 2007 and Spring 2008 have been looked at, and although at time of writing this I'm not aware of firm dates being agreed, it appears that both WWE and BSkyB are keen for a UK based PPV event to take place. I've heard nothing to suggest that the PPV would only air live to the UK market, and although broadcasting back home to the United States and worldwide would cause a major headache for WWE, it's not entirely out of the question. WWE's last PPV in the UK (Insurrextion) took place on June/7th/2003 from the Telewest Arena in Newcastle, England, with the show headlined by Triple H beating Kevin Nash in a Street Fight to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. The show ended a seven-year run of WWE PPVs that were exclusive to the UK market.

iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2006 They better do Austin/Hogan... Unless something drastic happens, it isn't taking place. Having it be the biggest gross in the history of the WWE months before the show...I'd say that might be something drastic that would change their minds to do business. Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2006 Well, since they've already sold more than half the capacity for it, why bother? WM always seems to do big biz regardless.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2006 It's a complete waste to bother with two massive egos that don't really want to work together, it's a total political war-zone and it wouldn't do ANYTHING to the actual buyrate. They will sell at least 1 million anyways, it's a waste of time, effort and money to do Hogan/Austin.

milliondollarchamp 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2006 Debbie Killian, who is perhaps the best American woman wrestler to ever work full time in Japan when she competed as Debbie Malenko, called John Laurinaitis asking for a job with WWE. She made her wrestling debut in 1990 and generally competed in Japan until sometime in 1993 when her brief career was cut short at the mere age of 22 by a severe injury. Debbie Malenko was trained at the Malenko school of wrestling in Florida and originally went by the name Debbie Drake. When she went to Japan, they let her use the Malenko name because she was such a great worker. Anyways, Killian is only 35 years old, hasn't competed in at least 13 years, and doesn't exactly fit the "WWE Diva mold", so don't hold your breath on this one. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2006 Why would someone take 13 years off and try to get a job in WWE despite having talent and no look? If she needs money, she's in the wrong business and if she wants to work, she should just go to SHIMMER. However, Melenko is one of McMahon's biggest ass-kisers so maybe he can do her a favor and get her job somewhere in the company.
milliondollarchamp 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2006 Here is a pic of what she looked like I found how she was injured She was in a tag match that spilled out of the ring. She was standing in the middle of a bundle of cords for the TV taping when one of the girls came off the ropes onto her on the floor, and her leg twisted below the knee. It was sick. The other girls didn't know she was hurt and kept kicking away at her, mostly her upper body so the leg didn't take more damage, but Debbie was slapping the ground in an obvious tap out, to no avail. Her partner, Sakie Hasegawa, saw she was hurt and the other girls weren't stopping, so she grabbed both girls and threw them about 5 rows deep into the audience to get them off her. I mean, Hasegawa looked pissed. That finally got the match stopped. She was carried out and it continued as a 2 on 1 match. Debbie never returned to AJW again. http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/profi...ie-malenko.html
Scroby 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2006 I think Hogan vs Show should be held off for a year. Let show take some time off for about a year and before Wrestlemania 24 start rolling videos about Big Show and let him do a "Via Satellte" from his home saying how he wants to challange Hogan at Wrestlemania 24. The whole idea around TBS/Hogan is based on duplicating Andre/Hogan and you can only do that in front of a packed dome in Detroit. It won't work in another environment. Show wants out of the business altogether and since he has options outside of wrestling, he isn't as likely to jump back into the ring. Yeah I know, but I still think waiting one year while Big Show takes time off and build Big Show up as a unstoppable monster that challanges Hogan would be best. Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2006 Most wrestling fans are not going to care about Big Show's win loss record as long as he is booked to look damn strong from this point out. Have his team win at Survivor Series with Show being one of the Survivors (along with Umaga), have him dominate the Elimination Chamber though drop the title only after an extreme amount of abuse from the weapons involved and maybe 2-3 of the wrestlers all covering him for the pin. From there he takes a couple of months off to heal up (and get in top shape) and comes back at the Royal Rumble where he dominates and wins. Winning the Rumble would give him his choice of match at WM23, now most would choose a title match, however here The Big Show calls out Hogan. With Heyman by his side(a la Bobby Heenan) it could be explained that this is Big Show's destiny, that he has accomplished everything he has ever wanted to accomplish and there was only one thing left - to prove that he is the most dominant Giant in the history of the business. To do that he feels that he needs to defeat Hulk Hogan at WM something Andre could never do.

Human Fly 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2006 Why would the company waste the Rumble match to build up (basically) an exhibition match between an old timer in his 50s and a wrestler that is leaving. All they need to do to build the match is have Show throw out a challenge 6 weeks before the event and book from there. Also, the match is pointless unless they can somehow work in a bodyslam spot. I would be surprised given the physical limitations of both guys at this point if it could be done and not look terrible.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2006 Really don't have any interest in seeing Hogan in another paint-by-numbers high profile match at this point. If WWE genuinely needs the guy nearly 20 years past the height of his drawing power for their biggest event of the year, then that is just sad and pathetic. If the WWE really wants to bring someone back to make Wrestlemania feel special they should throw everything they have at The Rock and induct him into the Hall of Fame and make an appearance at the event itself. Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2006 I know they're trying to make the James Gang into an edgy DX-type group, but I don't know if this is a good move. Seems like this is just going to piss off WWE, who have more or less ignored TNA up until now. I hope for TNA's sake this doesn't bite them in the ass. I love the idea about having the Rock appear at WrestleMania for a Hall of Fame appearance or something similar. I mean, we've seen Hogan plenty of times in the past year in a WWE ring, but haven't seen Rock in what, three years or so? The Rock at least would be relevant, whereas Hogan kind of had his big sendoff at last year's ceremony. Unforunately, Duane Johnson doesn't seem like he wants to have much to do with WWE anymore, which is probably Vince's fault more than anything.
