Comments which don't warrant a thread

From today's local paper:

"The news conference is being held to announce Windsor's role in WrestleMania 23 and the events it will sponsor in the week leading up to the big tournament. WrestleMania 23 is the WWE's main championship."

I know they probably don't know better, but I still find that funny.

I wonder if when Saliva made that "Ladies and Gentleman" song, they were like "THis song blows ass, but we're going to make so much bank off this by every sports station playing it."

So far, in addition to it being the Wrestlemania theme song, I've heard it about 1,000 times on the NFL Network over the past few days on their Superbowl telecasts, and twice on the local Fox Sports Net station.

Squizz on XM is playing it a lot too..but then again it seems like they probably have some sort of deal with Saliva cause I think sometimes they play like 4 or 5 Songs straight sometimes. and I originally liked "Ladies and Gentlemen" the first time I heard it, but the more and more I hear it the more and more I hate it.

Maybe they're letting it slip that theres some sort of tournament at WM?

DEBUT RATING FOR MTV WRESTLING SOCIETY X & MORE

by Mike Johnson @ 5:20:00 PM on 1/31/2007

The debut of MTV's Wrestling Society X last night scored a 1.0 rating. I haven't yet heard the audience share. That's a really impressive debut rating, especially considering it was running up against the second half of ECW on SciFi (which usually does around 1.5).

In my opinion, WSX should send Vince McMahon flowers because the way he trash talked the original ECW and its fans likely only helped WSX's cause, specificially since it featured several former ECW regulars, tables, ladders, crazy highspots, explosions, etc., all things that would in theory attract former ECW fans that WWE doesn't provide for with their "revitalized" version of the company.

Jack Evans will be appearing tonight to discuss WSX on www.InYourHeadOnline.com.

The first edition of WSXtra is online now at www.WSX.MTV.com. Our own Richard Trionfo has his report up here on the main page of PWInsider.com.

ECW scored a 1.7

On Heat this week they have Stephanie's Chosen One wrestling and LOSING to Eugene rather unceremoniously. Is there an angle brewing there or has Rodimer's stock really fallen since the bookers saw how green he really was. Otherwise this is akin to Harry Smith debuting as part of a mass run-in...

I couldn't give two shits about Rodimer, but Harry Smith's debut being in a stupid brawl with no mention of who he is whatsoever is a shame. That kid has star written all over, from his look to his lineage, and the fact he can WORK. Of course, as we learned from Paul Burchill, WWE isn't horribly interested in big guys who can go.

According to Meltzer, Harry Smith was placed in the mob of Raw guys running off the ECW people because Paul Heyman expressed an interest in using him for ECW. So Raw head booker Brian Gewirtz made sure Smith was out there to run off the ECW people.

But it's not like that really matters, because Big Show was a part of that Raw mob too.

Apparently they moved Scotty to Raw, any particular reason why?

I'm guessing that they plan on releasing him soon. I know, hard to believe Scotty would ever get canned but seems like the past few years they'll give someone "one last shot" on a different brand or with a different gimmick for a few weeks before firing them. A-Train, Chuck Palumbo, D-Lo Brown, Bull Buchanan, Kenzo Suzuki, Sylvester Terkay, and others have all been a victim of this in recent memory.

Scotty is probably filling Val Venis' spot(Heat regular), who in turn is taking Rob Conway's spot(Heat regular and occasional Raw jobber). At least on the Raw brand he can get Heat exposure. Scotty will beat the indie jobbers however lose to the slumming Raw stars or the up and comers. He also fills a role on the house show circuit wrestling the Dan Rodimers and Vladimir Kozlov's of the world. Venis can wrestle the other one of course.

Meltzer's latest update says Undertaker wil appear at the start of Raw to announce the main event of Wrestlemania, one would presume by announcing which title he's going after.

The bookers probably won't make their decision on what they're going to do until 9:55pm.

So he'll be in the ring for 55 minutes telling us the pros and cons of the opponents until some grip runs out and tells him?

I might actually enjoy that. If he does it in the form of a poetry jam, I might be willing to see triple champion Undertaker.

I think Canadian Dragon forgot Raw still airs in the US at 9pm. We watch at 2200 hours here, 2GOLD.

True, but I was kinda looking forward to the thought of the Undertaker trying to fill 55 minutes while they scrambled to figure out who'd he face. If he had a guitar, it might be the greatest thing since the Rock LIVE concert.

I'd imagine it being something like Undertaker having an earpiece telling him what Vince's decision is, so it comes like:

"At Wrestlemania, I will be challenging Joh...Ba...Bo....", and then Undertaker snapping and yelling at Vince to make his mind up.

I'll take the darkhorse choice and say Taker will choose all three in WM's 2nd World Championship Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match. Then, it'll buy the writers more time to come up w/ the real Main Event at SD and change it the next Monday on Raw and so on and so forth.

I didn't like Limp Bizkit's song for Mania X-7. I actually liked that "I Dare You" song by Shinedown from last year's show (it was one of two themes, along with "Big Time" for Mania 22), but of course for my money nothing can touch Drowning Pool's "Step Up."

I liked the "big time" song by soundtrack of our lives from wm 21 in hollywood better (yes they had theme songs two year sin a row with the sane title, but a different song)it fit the whole hollywood theme. superstar from x-8 was indeed very cool. the i dare you song was particulary good for the opening of wm 22 showing the old clips and such it gave me goosebumps. now anytime I hear that song it makes me think of wm or wwe. (just like any song they use as a theme)
